What are your thoughts on cylinder honing ? Many times I’ve lightly ball honed (with oil) as a safety precaution after chamfering the ports to aid in a consistent and smooth port face.
@@IndianaDoug I only ever do a light ball hone when replacing rings half way through the top end's lifecycle. Chamfering I do in 2 stages, 1st stage I use an abrasive (sand) bit to acquire the chamfer depth and angle, stage 2 I use a 2000 grit diamond bit to finish. But ball honing can work as you describe
