    Dope! I was looking at those TMP buttons and covers, guess I'll have to hit the trigger now. Lol
    I am enrolled in your course but haven't had a chance to dive in with the holidays and family visiting. As soon as the new year hits and I am free, I'm jumping in.

      Thanks for enrolling in the course-I’m stoked to have you on board! Totally get the holiday madness; family time comes first. Once you’re ready to dive in, I think you’re going to find a ton of value to help you get the most out of your TMP.
      And yeah, those buttons and covers are definitely worth it-they add some style and protection to the unit. Let me know how it all goes once you’re set up, and if you have any questions while working through the course, I’m here to help! Enjoy the holidays, and happy New Year! 🎸

    I love mine and it's only gonna get better as long as they support it. I've had a bunch of modelers and this is my favorite UI and it looks the best out of any of them IMO. I run it through a Power Station into a Mesa cab and it sounds great.

    • @damionandy
      @damionandy  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That’s an awesome setup! Running the TMP through a Power Station into a Mesa cab must sound massive. I agree-the UI is so intuitive, and the design really stands out compared to other modelers. And with regular updates, it’s only going to get better over time. What kind of tones are you going for with that rig? I bet it’s killer for both studio and live use!

      @@damionandy My favorite so far is using the Friedman model with the HBE switch on. Strangely it sounds best to me using an IR into the cabinet. I'm just a hack/hobby player but I enjoy it!

    Dude, the timing of this video! I bought a TMP *today* - after 15 years mainly on Native Instruments Guitar Rig (and getting more and more peeved with both the sporadic updates plus NI making it less and less live-friendly each time) - and a year of demoing the Helix, Kemper, QC, FM9, and seeing the TMP improve with each firmware release. Watching a load of informative videos - including yours - have been a massive help, and ultimately decided tha there's enough there (and, importantly, enough sign of Fender's commitment to the platform) to make the jump and justify the investment.
    The last few hours have barely scratched the surface of what it can do and I'm already loving how easy and intuitive it is to get where I want to be with it. I'm happy working in the digital world but the learning curve on this thing is soooo fast. The selection of components, and the speed I can get tones and effects dialed in how I want them, and the songs/scenes functionality to make the most of the floor controller. It's literally light years ahead of the Rig Kontrol as a hardware interface too. The irony is that even my favourite Guitar Rig 7 presets now sound better via the clean USB out from the TMP into GR7. Now to start exploring the MIDI functionality - and decide which of my legacy effects need to stay in the loop.
    Big thanks for all the hard work you've done pushing (and explaining) the envelope - now to enjoy playing. 🙂

      @damionandy  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Man, what a journey! It sounds like the TMP is already transforming your setup, and I couldn’t agree more about how intuitive it is compared to a lot of other platforms. Thanks so much for the kind words about my videos-it means a lot that they helped you on this journey. Enjoy digging into the TMP, and feel free to hit me up if you ever have questions or need tips.

      @richh33 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@damionandy Sweet, man, thanks very much, I'll definitely do that. You're more right than you probably realise - I'm literally working out how to rebuild my rig around the TMP right now. Need to get hold of an expression pedal ASAP and then I can A/B my Digitech Whammy (which I love) against the built-in Pedal Shifter. The great thing is that even if I keep the Whammy on, I can shove it into one of the FX loops and then (as far as I can see) use the TMP's MIDI to configure and control it - and save a load of hassle.
      The slight shame of it is that I'd have likely stuck with NI if their product had moved with the times while not losing what originally made it good. I'm on their ecosystem elsewhere, but it just doesn't seem like guitar is a priority for them. GR6&7 moved the dial forward some ways (new UI, IR support etc) but they obsoleted their own floor controller/interface without even offering a next generation replacement. That felt like the writing was on the wall and was the beginning of me looking at the alternatives. It's a shame as there are some GR features - I'm thinking the envelope, LFO and sequencer in particular - that are super-useful (and I'll miss) and some of their models are great, but, as a package, and especially thinking ahead to playing live, the TMP is just more accessible and plain enjoyable. And that's why we're here, right?!
      Was sorely tempted by the Helix - cheaper (especially once you figure in a pedal) and it has the Diezel VH4/Benzin - which was a draw for me. But, ultimately, I just preferred working with the TMP - and hope that Fender carry on in the manner they have with the improvements, as the platform has so much potential.
      Looking forward to catching up again later on the journey! :)

    I love my TMP and the FR-12 speaker. I recently learned how to use IRs and for thirty dollars I now have a hundred different cabinet, speaker and mic choices. It is simply incredible. Digital modeling is the future. Everyone might as well accept it.

    • @damionandy

      That’s an amazing setup! The TMP paired with the FR-12 is such a powerful combination. And learning how to use IRs really opens up a whole new world of tone possibilities-it’s wild what you can do for such a small investment. I completely agree, digital modeling is here to stay. The versatility and ease of use are hard to beat. What’s been your favorite cab or mic setup so far? I’m always curious to hear what others are dialing in!

      Favorite Cab and Mic? That's a tough one. Stock TMP for low gain stuff, I probably lean towards the 4X1O ’59 BASSMAN GREENBACK with the R-121 Ribbon Mic. Stock TMP Hi-Gain, probably the Orange Cabinet with the SM57.
      For IR, I really like the Owen Hammer Rock Box V30EN-1999A and also the York Audio MESA 2x12 V30. For really heavy modern stuff, I like the York Audio VH+412 P50E. It sounds fantastic. John over at Sonic Drive Studio has videos on them.

    Just got mine last week. Coming from a Helix LT I can say building a rig on the TMP is a lot of fun and the UI is great. There's a few things the Helix does that makes it easier like copy and past but I've found some work arounds. Overall I'm having fun with it and decided it's a keeper.

    • @damionandy
      @damionandy  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That’s awesome! Sounds like you’re settling into it nicely. I totally get what you mean about the Helix having some easier copy-and-paste features-it’s something I noticed too. But once you get the hang of the Tone Master Pro’s workflow, it becomes second nature. Glad to hear you’re having fun with it and found it to be a keeper! What kind of rigs have you been building so far? Would love to hear about your setup!

    • @VroomanSRT
      @VroomanSRT 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah I mean a simple update could fix a few minor things but overall I'm enjoying the workflow a lot more than the Helix. I'm playing at church this Sunday, so I first made a base rig and now I'm building song specific scenes. I'm sure you know worship is a very FX heavy style; stacking drives, delays, and reverb. I really put this thing to the test and pretty stocked with the tones I've been getting! Thinking about uploading to to cloud when I'm done to contribute. On top of that, my wife sings while I play acoustic. Another reason I was drawn to the TMP. Only had it for less than a week so I haven't made any rigs based on that, but looking forward to it! Just want to say you're doing a great job on your videos! I really enjoy them 👍

    Your's (& Doug's) videos have helped massively in learning this unit, cheers & happy new year. Sorry if these questions have been asked before but..
    - What customisations did you add to your unit?
    - Recommended FR 12 knob settings, or is it better to adjust depending on the preset?

    • @damionandy
      @damionandy  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      What's up Potterr! On my TMP, I Just have the purple skin, TMP plexiglass shield, the knob buttons, and some color coated rings for the back of the unit for easier setup and set down. For the way I use the unit, I like to streamline my setup for live use. I’ve adjusted the footswitches to toggle between scenes for easy transitions during songs, but I"m also guilty of just using it like a pedalboard and tap dance my way through effects. As far as the FR 12 knob settings, I leave them flat (at noon). I have the first run of FRFR12, so I have to deal with the hiss. I cut pretty aggressively on the "cut" just to get rid of the sound.

    The timing of this video is perfect for me. I've had a TMP for about a month now, playing it through a KSR PA50 into a V30 loaded 2x12. Sounds really good, but I'm second-guessing if I should have gone QC. Do you have any experience with QC? If so, how do you feel they compare? Thanks for the content. Keep it up!

      I don't have a QC (yet). As the channel continues to grow, I plan on snagging one; however, I was between the QC and TMP. I really like Archetype Plini for studio work. Being able to have that on a dedicate device sounds awesome, but I'm not really playing out a lot these days (getting ready to be a dad and I'm building a business). If you are playing live, a friend sold the TMP for the QC and frequently complains about the button size being too small. I wouldn't second guess it bro. the TMP is more than enough for 99% of us pickers.

    • @damionandy

      The Tone Master Pro is the only modeler, to my knowledge, that shows bass players love. My course isn't created specifically for bass; however, if you want to learn how EQ, signal pathing, pedals, and more work in general, it serves that purpose. I market it towards Tone Master Pro users, but it's really a "Music Production for Guitarists" course, but the fundamentals apply to any instrument.
