Hi guys! Thanks for tuning in! This week it is time to get busy on the 1959 Buick LeSabre; this is a car I've wanted since I was a kid, and I cannot wait to put it together! This week we're going to try to figure out why the wheelbase is wrong on the car, and why it sits on the bump stops... Weird problems, for sure! Also: More welding on the 1960 Chevy Biscayne / Impala splice, and a new episode of "My Classic Tire"! Thanks everyone who ordered a 1937 Chevy T-shirt; they're printed now and they are on the way! Hope you enjoyed the 8mm clips! I am filming more on the 8mm camera and I'll include the footage as soon as I get it developed... Special thanks to Steve Dean and Niagara Film Labs in Toronto. Thanks to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments!

Scott-You've put a bunch of work into the Biscala to make those doors shut so nicely. I would suggest that you install at least two body mounts from the floor to the frame, reasonably close to the b-pillars, so there is no chance of future flexing downward. Ken from Lititz, Pennsylvania
Having Frankers chase the tire between all the cars is a great way to clear out all the cobwebs while letting her have some fun 😂. I'm totally enjoying watching the progress on the Buick and Biscala projects. Cheers to you, Scott, and all the Agents helping out!
I think that before winter you may want to get an enclosure around the lift that can be heated when you want to use the lift because you know there will be times this winter that you are going to want to use it. If you lived closer and hadn't already rebuilt the 364 for the Buick I would have had a rebuildable 64 Buick Riviera 425 I would have given you to put in it.
Scott, been out of commission for a while, card on monthly contribution expired, so sending this for the Biscala or Buick, whichever is more in need. Cheers to you, Dean and all the Agents. John W.
Whoa! Thanks so much, John... You are very kind to contribute so generously to the old show here... I will keep trying my best to make something we can look forward to... All the very best as always from me and Frankers and the Agents that make it happen!
Scott, I so look forward to Thursdays and Saturdays. I don't work on cars but have learned so much about them watching your shows. Please put this toward the purchase of a new trunk floor for the Biscalla. Cheers!
Whoa! Thanks so much, Kerry... That is so cool of you to contribute so generously to the old show here... I will keep trying my best to make something we can look forward to... All the very best as always from me and Frankers and the Agents!
Hunny Bunny on rhythm guitar is a welcome addition. I can see her watching for the chord progressions, and she's keeping up with the boys just fine. Holding up the other end of the torque tube and cleaning parts shaved hours off he Buick job. I think she needs an agent number ... she's more than just a Hunny Bunny, she's a member of the team.
The ghosts from the Willow Springs Fisher Body Plant are watching your progress with great interest and wishing you well with this tedious work. I am, too.
The lift sure is getting a workout lately. Need a t-shirt with a picture of the Buick on the lift and a caption on the back "Bro, do you even lift?" The Kaiser is looking sharp and the Biscala is coming together nicely with all that welding.
Having a lift is a game changer. The Impala splice and the Buick are both going way faster now that you aren't spending so much time on a creeper. Working over your head is way easier than doing it over your face in a cramped space with no leverage.
and here I sit in Vegas, they say after my Birthday and a great Dead show at the Sphere, awaiting the next, enjoying what is legal here and not at home and heading to another show tonight, however, Saturday is not Saturday without Coldwarmotors! That's right, must watch before going to show!
Holy crap! What a show! Ripple, Franklin's tower, Terrippan, Morning Dew, Uncle John's band, Samson and Delilah...whole night was like that...freaking amazing!
A welcome departure from those of us in the lower 48 from the usual spectacle of the ‘news cycle.’ As a declaration of of that misery, I pronounce 2024 as the year of the CWM hoist, without which none of the critical origins of the ‘59 Buick’s driveline’s irregularities could be identified and remedied. Superb contributions by Myles & Ash as usual.
You made that Biscala back end splice look so damned easy (and yes I know it took hours). As you said now you have a car that is square, doors fit and everything is back where it should be. Just a great job... But yes get a boot (trunk) floor panel. Sometimes its a trade off between time and cost and that floor is pretty well shot. With the LeSabre you have two cars in build ... YAAAAYYY!
...did I hear that right...Lady HoneyBunny's actual name is Shawn?...if she is going to prep that transmission for you, that's true love, right there....thanks for the great show, Shawn and Scott.....
Tuned in a bit late. Was replacing exhaust on the ‘62 Buick. Finally got the tractor muffler off and tailpipe out of the driver’s side rear wheel well. Got it started, no leaks. Then it died. Fuel pump rebuild in the morning. Thanks to all of you there to help motivate me. Frankers wore me out watching her chase that tire. Keep on keeping on. These cars deserve caretakers as you do. Myles’ Poncho is looking sweet. Dare I say again, he finds some real good stuff. Moparponch will be his new nickname lol. Thanks again.
Hi Scott, Money versus time is a balancing act that most of us have to do no matter what your passion is. In my youth I was told by a great elderly man "every one has either time or money very few have both" CWM watched! Now, my Sunday can begin. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Frankers doing the Scooby Doo tire chase? This is hands down the best show on the internet. Now talk to the folks at Strong's and solidify their number 2 status.
I must be starving for entertainment. It was so trippy watching the camera work in my classic tire. The hoist has been especially useful. Ash's Datsun is sweet.
Yes, Ash and Myles aways a big help!! Good people! New Honey Bunny does detailed work also! Glad to see her aboard. Lotsa fun stuff Scott, you have accomplished MUCH this past week! Thanks for sharing! Cheers, Rich
That hoist is the great! It's already proving to be a big help. All of the future projects will be a lot easier (figuratively speaking) since you'll be able to stand up under them. I remember crawling under a few cars, and I would've enjoyed dropping starters or replacing tie rods if I could have been standing while trying to wrestle them apart. But enough about me; "Classic Tire" was its' usual brilliance, Ms. Francine ever the diva, and Hunny bunny is going to tackle the Buick's transmission. The more I hear about this lady...wow, the gears of the Universe must have been aligned perfectly for Scott to meet her. Cheers!
Scott I am really happy to see the Chevy coming along so well, it's going to be a rare piece ,not many left. The lift is proving to be a wonderful addition to the shop ,so much easier, and it really speeds up the project. If you can find the high transmission jack it will really be a nice accessory, and make it so much easier to do transmission work. I finally have all those things but I'm too old to use it. People offer to buy these tools, but it hurts to let them go. Enjoy them Scott you earned every piece.
We sold those tires in my father's gas station in the sixties. It is fun to see them again. If I remember correctly, you would be lucky to get more than ten thousand miles out of them on our hot Arizona roads.
Now the Buick looks correct! Nice job on the torque tube Honey Bunny! I don't think Scott could have got it back into place without your help! Everything you do on the Impala looks like big steps. It appears all the planning and double checking is paying off! Excellent Classic Tire with Steven! With the engine and tranny out of the Buick moving it about will be so much easier. Good work Myles and Ashley! You two really saved Scott a lot of time! Thank all of you for sharing!!
Nice to see a little progress on the '59 Buick in today's episode. Great progress on project Biscala finally seeing the two halves together on a more permanent basis. Well done Scott.
Great episode!! Thanks for showing us just how the Biscayne/Impala splice works back there at the wheel tubs and package tray. I know it's fiddly and uncomfortable to film in the car but I, and I'm sure many others, find it fascinating just how these cars fit together. LOVED the new/old Gulf tires on the Kaiser! The Keystone Cops tire chase featuring the lovely Frankkers gave me a belly laugh!! Thanks for your channel!
I knew someone who owned a 1959 car from each GM division when I was a kid. My dad had a 59 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 that we travelled to California in when we moved from Kansas in 1960. That was a cool car - very space age - but I think the 59 Buicks were the prettiest of the lot. Best of luck in your Buick project!
It's been fun with the Biscala, but the Buick is important to us too. And the awaiting Suburban. Please put some spray furniture polish on what's left of the woodgrain. It's a hot one on the test porch, and I love it! Thank you, Scott, Franker's, agents, patrons, and fans! Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
The randomness is part of the fun. After several installments of Fury restoration he'd abruptly move to the Rover or the Model T or one of the LeCars. On any given Saturday you never know what he'll feel like working on. Rover assembly, more fabrication on the Continental, and a few days on the SM could happen at any time. Tractor pulls are coming up in the fall, right?
Great show! Thanks to the whole volunteer crew! 30 yrs ago there were maybe 5-10 of these Buicks around town. Daily driven SURVIVORS! A green LeSabre wagon( the style WORKED on the wagon!) , a frost teal Invicta, a black Electra convertible. Also a bright red repainted 4 dr Electra. A white and a silver I only glimpsed from a distance. Only the red one now. He has a big gas budget, see him everywhere & its a 401......
What a busy week- progress on all fronts: the Buick, '60 Impala, and even a Classic Tire on the Kaiser (I STILL think your Packard straight 8 would look awesome under the hood of the Kaiser)! I know through the magic of editing, all of this progress looked like a relatively painless 'forgone conclusion', but I also know from personal experience how deceiving an illusion that is. Thanks again for taking us along for the ride! P.S.- I'll never get tired of the jam session clips of the band! 👍
My Dad bought the exact same car and year. Kaiser It made it home, and that was it. I never even got a ride in it. At that time, a Ford sedan with plenty of whiskey dents, but a roaring V8 and it could peel out, was The Next Family Car. Back then if your car could peel out,it was instant cool. Otherwise, the bad gals wouldn't get in. Sometimes you had to dump out a few guys to make room for them, and then peel out a good used tire would be like $10 at the tire guy store ,which of course is $100 now Henry J.Kaiser also made a funny compact car,the "Henry J" The Kaiser & Frazer union in automaking is a interesting tale, A Good Show,Scott....the SOS
This episode was worth waiting for. Those classic tires look great on the Kaiser. A big Thanks to Myles and Ash for helping you out and you did a fabulous job on the welds as well as getting that quarter panel straight. Cheers from your wacky neighbor from the South.
The front end as well as the body style on the donor Buick looks so nice. It's kind of a shame it couldn't have been saved. I would have been 4 years old when they were new, so I remember them early on. My dad thought they looked ridiculous. I always thought they were cool. As far as styling goes, the designers really went all out!
Shout out to the band! Jesse's girl is a favorite. Such a proper tidy and appropriate repairs on the Buick underneath and the Biscala. The Buick styling will always have a soft spot in my heart and head. Great Classic Tire episode, including the duo discussion. Thanks Scott and Ash and Miles for the assistance.
Always love the Easter egg at the end of the videos and probably helps your numbers a lot too when people like me look out for it. TH-cam must hate that this is exactly what a lot of us want to watch. Keep sticking it to them. Great show this week boys and girls.
Lots of progress this week! Watching Myles leave reminded me how much I like the Poncho’s stance - I like my ‘60’s cars with mags and a little altitude! Cheers and see you next week!
Darn Canadian problem solvers are making both the 4dr Buick and the 60 Impala go together rapidly. At this rate we may have to send you to the Bahamas for either Christmas or New Years. I wonder if Honey Bunny was go for that🎉🎉😊😊. A big thanks to Miles and Ash for the help in getting the motor and trans out of the 59 Buick 4dr hdtop. With friends like them all projects seem to go faster and easier 😊
Great to see the Buick with its correct wheelbase! Nice progress on the Impala splice. Thumbs up for all the helpers. Another enjoyable hour as usual. Cheers again Scott and everyone involved.
Another fantastic hour and sixteen minutes of fun and adventure! Plus!! thanks to one of your ads, I'm on my way to losing my ugly belly fat. Cheers from the shed to all of you.
Good progress on all the projects. That flying Buick is a sight to behold. It is a UFO when it lands! Great content as always, thank you! Cheers! 😎👍🏎🏁🏁
Good to see Stephen on the My Classic Tire segment..need a Saab update. Thanks for taking us along for this week's explotes. Agents and Honey Bunny are pulling hard, thanks.
I watched that old movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" last week and I noticed Judge Reinhold's character drove a '59 flattop in the movie. I ndon't know about in Canada but some cities in the states used Buick's for police cars and most of those were ordered with three speed manuals because they performed better then the old Dynaflow slush box and were more durable too.
Oh yeah! A proper 80s classic... The barn band is actually called "The Ultimate Set of Tools", haha... I believe that the car you are thinking of is a 1960 model? Cheers from here!
Hey, you get bonus points for helping me learn about torque tube driveline. Not knowing exactly how they worked, I was always afraid of the thought of working on one. And after seeing this vid, my fears were confirmed. I would never as a teenager been able to work on a torque tube with my car supported on cinder blocks in my parent's gravel driveway😬😵💫😵😫
I watch every Thursday and every Saturday and have done so for years. My name is in the credits in very small print but it is there every month. Cheers!
Great progress on both the Biscala and Buick. What great work by you all and good that you have such reliable help from the agents. Good luck to Honey Bunny on the cycle project, license and the Buick tranny. There may actually be a transmission under all that caked on grime.
Scott, I am sure you are correct. That torque tube and rear axle assembly almost certainly came from another car and probably a car from another year. All '59 4 door hardtops have the same wheel base with the exception of the Electra 225. For example my '56 Special has a 122 inch wheel base but the Super and Roadmaster both have a 127 inch wheel base. Make sure you have a good torque ball seal behind the transmission on the new torque tube. They are notorious for leaking. Cheers.

splicemasters at work again! thanks for showing the sm and hinting on doing that one. whether you do or you don't, Ill tune in anyways!

Not a garage band- a Quonset hut band😉

One day, there will be a 1960 Biscala tee shirt; I turn 64 this month and collect almost anything 1960.
The ghosts from the Willow Springs Fisher Body Plant are watching your progress with great interest and wishing you well with this tedious work. I am, too.
If they had panel fitting in the Olympics you would get the gold medal for door close click 🏆👍😃
Extra points for difficulty. Starting with the floppy cut up halves of two different cars is the "Grandmaster" level.
How you got that rear 3/4 to straighten out was pure magic.
Respect!
So happy you are still doing what you all do after all these years and still doing it your way!
Cheers Wayne! Thanks for hanging out with us for so many years now! All the best as always from everyone here...

Well done guys for giving scott a big hand getting the engine out
Would love to get an update on Jim’s Continental.
Honey Bunny brings a lot to the game, glad she is part of the Cold War Motors Crew now!
But who is she? She does add a lot to the show.
I knew the hoist would be a game changer.👍🏻
Great job this week. Lots of visible fruit from your labor. Thanks to Myles and Ash for stopping by...again.

Have fun brother!
Holy crap! What a show! Ripple, Franklin's tower, Terrippan, Morning Dew, Uncle John's band, Samson and Delilah...whole night was like that...freaking amazing!
Hunnybunny did a lovely job prepping the torque tube...Enjoyed the music at the beginning.....
Thank you! Cheers from here...
YAY!! GREAT BAND singing a GREAT SONG and more '59 Buick!!
Would absolutely love to see the Kaiser run again - sweet car. Great show, Regards to Scott, Hunnybunny, Frankers and the rest of the agents!
Love the band! Love the show! CWM is such an easy show to watch that the time just flies past. Til Thursday guys. 🍻👍
Your dog following the tire is....just great....
Good work Honey Buns. I like seeing you helping, it's awesome.

Hi Scott,
Money versus time is a balancing act that most of us have to do no matter what your passion is.
In my youth I was told by a great elderly man "every one has either time or money very few have both"
CWM watched!
Now, my Sunday can begin.
Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Hunny Bunny sure is a gold medal winning team member. She's into everything from the band to the shit-work!
Time is so precious ,get the trunk floor. 😊i wasn't expecting pakman to show up today.
Frankers doing the Scooby Doo tire chase? This is hands down the best show on the internet. Now talk to the folks at Strong's and solidify their number 2 status.

Chevy is really taking shape! Well done, Scott!
Somebody is going to need another barn soon! Totally enjoying the Biscala and Buick projects. And a stellar episode of My Classic Tire!
Scott, it looks like you found the right Honey Bunny if she's out there voluntarily fiddling with this old junk!
That is for sure!
Really enjoy seeing these cars come together! Thanks for another fun Saturday. And thank Frankers for her help wit Classic Tire!
" and she's lovin' him with that body, I just know it"
great one.
Nice to see a little progress on the '59 Buick in today's episode. Great progress on project Biscala finally seeing the two halves together on a more permanent basis. Well done Scott.
👍👍 to Ash & Myles for all their heip. Cheers gentlemen. Looking forward to seeing more Impala and Buick wrenching. ❤️✌️😎👍 Cheers Scott.
That lift has saved you so much time! Great investment!
Great episode!!
Thanks for showing us just how the Biscayne/Impala splice works back there at the wheel tubs and package tray. I know it's fiddly and uncomfortable to film in the car but I, and I'm sure many others, find it fascinating just how these cars fit together.

Great show! Thanks to the whole volunteer crew! 30 yrs ago there were maybe 5-10 of these Buicks around town. Daily driven SURVIVORS!

Sweet to see the GM cars getting love.
Frankers really hit a home run with this episode of My Classic Tire. I remember so well the tires at our local Gulf Station. Cheers!
What a busy week! Big steps on both projects. Nice work, as always.
Anyone who can make those doors shut like those on the Biscala is a true craftsman...what an accomplishment!
Great to see you figured out the mess with the Buick. Hats off to Miles and Ash for all they do to help. Cheers!
Looking great! Those 59/60’s are just so cool. Loving the show
Thanks Brian! Glad you enjoyed it... Cheers from me and Frankers!
That's a nice flying vee you've got there!
Oh thanks! It plays well and stays in tune, so it gets a lot of use... Cheers!
A Rick Springfield song to start with - my teenage self would heartily approve... and this old bugger, too 🤩
That torque tube design seems to be the Achilles heel of those 50's Buicks. Still though, cool car. Cheers from NY :)
Happy Saturday

Sometimes you had to dump out a few guys to make room for them, and then peel out
a good used tire would be like $10 at the tire guy store ,which of course is $100 now
Henry J.Kaiser also made a funny compact car,the "Henry J"
The Kaiser & Frazer union in automaking is a interesting tale,
A Good Show,Scott....the SOS
Jesse's Girl, one of my favorites from high school :-)
Nice to see all the work on the Buick and the Impala .
Loving the new music selection for the second Buick segment. Upbeat, odd time, distortion with keyboards. Very nice.
Hi Corey! Glad you liked it... Ash dared me to write something in 13/8 when we were mounting the tires for the Renault, haha... Cheers!
@@coldwarmotors HAHA I tried counting it but couldn't. I'm not a musician, but I can hear when things are just a little off the norm. Well done!
How about an update from Miles on his 59 Buick. Surely he has a beast of a nailhead almost ready to put on the dyno 😁
Ahhhh...Saturday...Seeing Frankers in the outtake..Oh...Tire...Oooohh...Can I smell Squirrel?
@25:20 - Just like at the factory. . . 🤣🤣🤣.
Love the videos Scott! I am currently in the hospital due to a broken leg but that won't stop me from watching your videos!
When you get the cast off, mail it to Alberta. Maybe Scott and the Agents will sign it!😎
Love the factory fit by size 12 boot
Great to see the Buick with its correct wheelbase! Nice progress on the Impala splice. Thumbs up for all the helpers. Another enjoyable hour as usual. Cheers again Scott and everyone involved.
Another fantastic hour and sixteen minutes of fun and adventure! Plus!! thanks to one of your ads, I'm on my way to losing my ugly belly fat. Cheers from the shed to all of you.
It might not be an hour and sixteen minutes you will ever get back, but time well spent Randahl! Now about those Buns of Steel...
Cheers Randahl! Glad we could help, haha... Hasn't worked for me though...
@@coldwarmotors 😆
Good progress on all the projects. That flying Buick is a sight to behold. It is a UFO when it lands! Great content as always, thank you! Cheers! 😎👍🏎🏁🏁
Good to see Stephen on the My Classic Tire segment..need a Saab update. Thanks for taking us along for this week's explotes. Agents and Honey Bunny are pulling hard, thanks.
That lift looked like it was exactly what you needed!
It’s a ‘60 LeSabre.
I'm watching this, as I see it. I gotta stop and not comment until I see this complete. Otherwise I'll be commenting until Monday! Carry on! 😂
4.50 in, Hunny Bunny prept the torque tube! She's a keeper! 😂
Also if She rides pillion. Don't lose Her. She is One in many Millions! 😃
Last time I saw one of the those metal dustpans was in elementary school...Might have using to clean up the classroom in detention.
Yeah, I've got one too. Vinyl ones are too flimsy.
Cheers.
I have a close friend with a '59 LeSabre with a stick shift in it from the factory. It is indeed rare.
Go Buick. You have the best friends.
