I dreamed about this song last night. Hauntingly beautiful.

traveled greyhound to see this show... begged the bartender to stash our packs behind the bar, he wasn't so excited... anyone have recordings from the magnetic fields also playing that night?

'What Would the Community Think' is my favorite Cat Power album. In my opinion she is best when there is less production between her and my ear. There is something so raw about this song, just her and her guitar, no voice matches hers when she opens it up and lets it out. The pitch is so clear, so striking, yet so fragile. The only song that compares for me is "Colors and the Kids" on 'Moon Pix'--just her and the piano.

There's a fair amount of that with Regina Spektor and Joanna Newsom and even Courtney Love (some of their earliest albums are just the best.) Also males, for damn sure.

Yeah, the best Cat Power are this early low production raw albums.
