I have a trick for those people with a soldering iron. If you place paper below and paper above plastic and draw your soldering iron across the paper, it will seal the plastic beneath..

    Genius!
Attention to small details like the "sliding into frame" but not having the surface to slide on!
I actually laughed out loud! 😂😂😂

    Comment on the flat poly..
There are some handheld sealing devices out there that might be good for that.
On top of that you could use plastic film that is made for silage - black/white - put the white side out and keep the roots cooler. It is also quiet cheap. However it is more work though.
Pro tip on the silage film: it can also be used to cover your IBCs for for low cost.
And finally, if you have one, use a concrete mixer for the potting mix ;)

Do you have a brand name for the plastic?

@@Pummers38 Sorry no brand name available. But if you search for black white film silage you will immediately find it.

Love it! New hot idea! To me anyway! Could you seal down the side of a flat piece of poly? Those hydro bags, pre-packed grow slabs are ex pen SIVE! MAYBE could make them ourselves cheaper by using flat poly and seal down the sides?

Just thought of using the Rock Wedge blocks to spear into the bottom of 200mm pots that have either GeoFabric or plastic in the bottom as a way of recycling 200mm nursery pots that most people throw away.
Basically a RGGS using pots that allow a quick change of pots or allows them to be moved about without having the net pot extending from the bottom of the pot.

Awesome video thanks for sharing! I haven’t tried grow bags so I am interested in trying it out. My channel focuses on smart cost effective gardening, so I wonder if the grow bags and grow media could be done on a budget. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Oh I subscribed as well.

@@chriskimmer2869 I was asking about his grow bags. I think it’s a cool idea. And no, I don’t know everything there is about gardening nor will I claim to be an expert. It is something I enjoy doing to help me manage my PTSD, so yes I am always willing to learn and share what I learn. Thanks for asking.

I have been unable to find any poly tubing like this that is UV resistant, has anyone seen anything like this, preferably in the US. The products at places like Uline specifically mention that they are not uv stabilized
