*This replaced a smaller Keurig that I owned for 6 years **MyBest.Kitchen** I wanted the convenience of the water receptacle and while this unit is much larger than the previous one, I'm very happy with my purchase. The only downside to this larger model is having to move it from under the cabinets to place the pod and refill it. I was able to rectify this by purchasing glide mats for small appliances. Now, it's perfect!*
Is there any reason why Philips makes the water containers so narrow that we can not clean them normally..... It's just unbelievable narrow and not reachable..... Please make a video about that small container....
Hi Declan, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are sorry to hear your coffee is tasting differently lately. Descaling is usually not related to the intensity of the coffee flavor but it is still advisable to descale the machine at least once every three months to avoid technical failures. If you would like to receive further assistance on your issue, please feel free to contact us on Facebook (Philips) or Twitter (@PhilipsCare). On those channels, we'll be able to provide you with further help. We wish you a lovely rest of the day!
@@Philips Please take some organic chemistry classes before talking, vinegar is definitely an ORGANIC acid as it is made of carbons, oxygens and hydrogens. It is a weak organic acid of formula CH3COOH. @Jean V they only want you to buy their products when actually vinegar would be completely fine
@@Philips ooops - I just used vinegar after not using my machine for 5 years. Have I done a bad thing? My resoviour leaks at the bottom when I fill it with water. I think I need help.
@@marshalellison2041 check the seal area. Five years is a long time, the seal may have become brittle for example. Or maybe the area is just dirty and clogged with something. If you just passed vinegar through the system, I don't see how you would mess up the machine doing it.
Philips said every three months in another comment. Obviously depends on frequency of use, water hardness, whether you like cats or dogs. But they said three months.
Hi there. Thanks for reaching out. :-) This is because the descaling consists out of two cycles, as the maximum capacity of the water reservoir isn't big enough to do a full cycle with. Therefore, the descaling solution is adjusted to one cycly, so that you can properly mix it with the right amount of water and put the full amount in the water reservoir. We hope that clears things up. If you have any further questions, please let us know.
if you press 1-cup button you are supposed to put two coffee pod right ? In the video woman puts 1-cup coffee pod but presses 2-cup button.dont you think this gets machine malfunctioned?
Finding happiness in life might be easier than the descaling process.
Let's hope not... 😅
😂😂😂😂

Agree w that, especially the magnet area to clean.
Water is just drippling when I start the cycle. It seems the filter is clogged. How can I open it?
Thanks for this video. Why is an used coffe pad in the discaling process for ?
To absorbe the limescale
So, I feel my coffee isn't as strong any more - even extra strong pads - would this be a reason to do the descaling?

Can I use vinegar instead of the official citric acid? Please give me a technical reason for not doing it.
Hi Jean, thanks for your question. We don't recommend using vinegar, as it is an inorganic acid, and can harm your Senseo.

How do you free a jammed lid (will not open) Please?
this machine after a day or two of use produces a plastic smell which transitions into the coffee itself.
My Senseo machine has broken after I used descaler(((((
When should I do this?

i dont understand why you have to put 2 packets of discaler

Philips thank you!ours its new about 2 months and i want to clean it so i saw this video!
No problem. :) If there is anything else we can help out with, let us know.
@@Philips They have programmed the machine to do exactly that. Press the 1 cup and 2 cups button at the same time.

One used pod is fine. It's only to filter out the scale residue and prevent it from clogging from the scale.

THIS IS WRONG....everybody, don't forget to start the cycle by pressing the 1 cup and 2 cup button at the same time.
Why? The purpose is to simply run descaler through machine.
Thanks for your comment. I ran the descales today and this comment saved me.
