Having them there for the sake of being animatronics is just for nostalgia points. Say the CG is bad in recent years, and then look at the animatronics of old Star Wars movies for example. ***** Actually, even in budget they are usually, it's just the ease of not having to create them is what makes studios go toward CGI nowadays. Its unfortunate that they take that route, but I guess it saves a bit on time put into pre-production if you just let the guys in post take care of it.
Not in every way. There is no possible way an animatronic T-Rex could run across a field in harsh day light and look as smooth as a CGI one. There's just way too much articulation! Don't get me wrong tho..I love animatronics! But there are so many organic things that animatronics just can't pull off and look convincing.
***** There's a LOT that animatronics simply can't do. If you tried - even with the top experts - a lot of great scenes from modern movies would look horribly fake with animatronics. If used wisely, CGI is a great artistic tool with far more utility than animatronics. Also, animatronics are much less expensive than CGI. Putting CGI effects into a movie is extremely expensive. All of the most expensive movies of all-time (even when adjusting for inflation) are CGI-heavy ones.
3:01 Actually, Lost World and JP3 are still canon. JP3 is referenced in the Masrani Global viral website, Masrani being the current owners of Jurassic World and InGEN. This is from the website: "Vic Hoskins was involved in overseeing the infamous flying reptile "cleanup" operation over Canada in 2001. Due to the professionalism his team displayed, he was hired personally by Simon Masrani to re-develop InGen’s Security Division, which helped oversee the protection of workers on Isla Nublar during Jurassic World’s construction." www.masraniglobal.com/about/divisions/ingen/security/index.html
"Pretty much all of our action movies are cartoons now..." Sad truth. I always hope movies, especially remakes, stay true to the original with little use of CGI... You know, hope is a mistake. If you can't fix what's broken, you'll go insane.
Yeah i think it only gets shit bc of the Trex vs Spino fight. Granted when the Rex bit spineys neck, it should've been over for spiney but it should've been avoided altogether if they wanted to use a new bigger, badder Dino
rhodel Ganaden AHAHAHAAAHAAA! THATS WHERE YOUR WRONG MY FRIEND! THE TYRANNOSAURUS REX IS THE SAME ONE FROM THE FIRST MOVE IN THE NEWEST JURASSIC PARK FILM!! You want proof? Oh i wonder why that T-Rex has scars in exactly the same place where she got attacked by velocorapters at the very end of the first movie. Hmmmmm....
It's one of those movies that exists just cuz. People loved watching the dinos chase after people in the first two movies, and that's exactly what we got in the 3rd, all movie... lol The book had pages and pages of science and philosophy behind the dinos, but I promise you that's not what the casual movie-goer cared about when going to see them.
Here’s something worth thinking about regarding the “Plausibility” of Jurassic Park. But first, just a little of my backstory. While attending college, during a class of Anatomy & Physiology, I was discussing with another student how cool the movie was. Okay, I’m an old fart! : ) Moving along. Our prof heard us and said to us, “Do you know why that story couldn’t happen?” My being one of the top two in the class might have been disappointing to her when I said, “No.” She probably wept for the future. Nevertheless, she said, “It could never be because they were using DNA from blood. Red blood cells have no nucleus and therefore NO DNA!” Years later I did a little research into the percentage of white blood cells to red. The numbers are staggeringly scarce for white blood cells. (White blood cells do have a nucleus but the white blood cells are very few compared to red.) So, forget DNA degrading over time, forget mosquito digestive juices - the tiny mosquito tummy and the odds of finding a viable nucleus would be astronomical. This is not hidden information. The reason I say this is, allegedly there have been some “scientists” considering this idea as plausible. And the MOST interesting part of this story is, the scam these “scientists” considered pulling on the public while knowing the true DNA availability. Keep your eyes open. There’s some weird stuff out there! Amanda Joyce 🎀
I think the original effects will always stand the test of time. There was a fair balance of animatronics and CG. Since they used animatronics in a lot of scenes, the actors were actually interacting with something as opposed to standing in front of a green screen, where its just not the same. Take the Raptor in the Shed scene. It was actually there and everyone knew it and it jump scared me when I first saw it! I don't mind CG if its done right, but there's something about animatronics that CG can't match. Even though the scene where we see the Brachiosaurus was CG, it looked very real as if it was there.
Jeremy James Prutchick You realize how silly your comment is? 1. CG can't match animatronics. 2. The scene with the brachiosaurus was CG and looked very real as if it was there. So... you are saying CG CAN match animatronics...
뿡뿡! ^__^ Let me rephrase that. I'm saying that CG can't always top animatronics, but CG can still come pretty close if its done right. Animatronics have that sense of interaction between actors and the animatronic. CG doesn't have that as much. When CG is done right, it can still look real as if it is there but it still doesn't top animatronics in that sense of interaction. The CG scene with the Brachiosaurus is a hell of a lot better than the CG from something ridiculous like Sharknado. The Brachio may have been CG, but the CG was done right and it felt as if it was there. When you watch Sharknado you know its CG and it looks terrible.
Something doesn't qualify as a 'reboot' just because of different characters. Even the director considers it a sequel, because that's what it is, a direct sequel to the original. 'Soft reboot' is just a ridiculous Hollywood term that is trendy but doesn't actually mean anything.
Utter bullshit. The term didn't even exist as applied to films until very recently. Predator 2 had different characters a significant amount of time later, as did the later sequel Predators. Neither are anything but direct sequels. Christoper Nolan's Batman series was a reboot. 'Soft reboot' is just Hollywood jargon for 'we want to cash in while insisting 'no, this is new!'' even when it's not. Thankfully I tend to believe a director when he says things like 'this film is a direct sequel'. But then I'm sure in today's 'all fucking opinions are valid' postmodern society even that will be interpreted as an opinion. It's not.
I could list about 100 things I couldn't stand about TLW Jurassic Park, if you assure me you will read it, it will be a lot of text, maybe 50 lines or so. I will break it up into paragraphs to make it easier too read.
la dodgers 4 life I honestly don't care, don't waste your time. The only scene i personally found bad was Kelly kicking the raptor, but again, don't waste your time.
I don't think JP3 gets enough credit. If anything, it was a fun way to waste 90 minutes with some memorable scenes strewn about. Before you yell "BUT MUH REX", the Tyrannosaur is still the best dinosaur on either Sorna or Nublar, but the Spinosaur, (at least in the JP canon ), is the stronger predator of the two. The movie also looked really good, with set design being impeccable while giving some insight into what went into InGen's work on Sorna, (albeit fucking with us kn the island's geography). Also: ALAN.
A lot of these facts you can find in the special features in the dvds so yeah im assuming people knew some of them. And for the haters, i see the "probably" in the title.
Practical effects add visceral elements to watching movies that feel authentic. The authenticity of practical effects adds a little realism and authenticity to movie scenes will never come across from CGI watching action movies.
Austin Delgado Meh, it definitely didn't rock as well as the other two... Still have to see JW but I'm sure it'll rock better than JP3. I mean I still love it since it's a JP film- but there's just too much wrong with it (most of it's flaws stemming from it's cookie cutter script)
The fact that the special effects guy was able to do that all by accident after setting a cup of water down at home then plucking a guitar string turned perfectly to some certain frequency is just blowing my mind lol.
I Love it.... after watching the movie for myself.... I can hear the sound of every critics head popping out of their ass.... POP!!!!!!!!!! Its been a long time since I've seen a movie this well thought out.... water tight in anti clenches, very ballsy writing, Id say the only thing ever redone was the communicating raptors... but even that was spectacular.... A lot of catch you off guard scenes...... a See it twice twist to make sure you conceived it right.... Great Character build up till the last breath.... Makes you Laugh Scream Cry and pee yourself.... equally balanced, making sure there wasn't too much of this or too much of that... Great scene Orchestration as well as Audio and Visual enhancement, If you thought you seen a Jurassic Park Movie, than you are mistaken... because you have only seen the tip of the ice burg...... GREAT JOB STEVE!!!!! YOU THE MAN!!!! Standing Ovation in the theater I went to... WE ALL CLAPPED WHISTLED CHEERED !!!!! Nothing but people buzzing about how awesome it was.... :)
What are you smoking? Jurassic Worlds CGI is light years ahead of JPs, same with the Animatronics. I love the original JP, but watching it on Blu-ray, it looks nowhere near as good as Jurassic World. Take off the nostalgia goggles.
Clever writing in making Jurassic World a direct sequel to the original movie. This would make JP3 a direct sequel to LW. The cannon lines up. Both LW and JP3 took place on Isla Sorna and JP and JW took place on Isla Nublar. Neither storylines ever have to acknowledge each other. That being said, Jurassic Park helped to update the image of the tyrannosaurus rex. In the past, every major cinematic piece dealing with T-rex often depicted it as standing upright and dragging its tail behind it; some sort of tri-pod stance. (Land Before Time, Fantasia, King Kong, even We're Back A Dinosaur's Story). In Jurassic Park, the T-rex is shown more accurately standing and moving in a purely bipedal stance. The massive legs and thighs of the t-rex helped pivot its body, while its long, heavy tail remained mid-air counter balancing its massive 5ft long head. T-rex also had binocular vision, or frontward facing eyes. This is a more subtle detail, but one that Jurassic Park captures in many of its close-ups of t-rex. One of the things they sensationalized though, is the size of t-rex. Its far too big in the movie. T-Rex's have about the same mass as an elephant, spread over a frame that's 12-15ft tall and approximately 40ft long. The specimen in the movie was closer to 20ft tall. To put this into perspective, it would've been about as big as the Spinosaurus from JP3.
Me too. It was unnecessarily cruel, and inconsistent with the (probably wrong, but still) description of the T-Rex's eyesight. I don't care much for the scene where the kid is implied to cause his parents' death by firing off a camera flash either. The Lost World had so much gratuitous nastiness.
@@peterlewerin4213 I didn't see where the T-Rex actually killed the kid's parents. Scared the bejesus out of them, but didn't kill them. I doubt even a Rex could've torn a house down.
@@Arbeedubya it's a fairly typical they-are-doomed cut, and there are stills of the T-Rex head prop reaching inside the room through the broken window. But yes, at least in the theatrical version we don't see them killed.
Been a huge JP fan since day one in 1993, thought we knew everything about the franchise. This actually showed us a couple new things. Cheers on the good work!
Did you know the scene when the T. rex smashed into car in Jurassic park with the kids wasn't suppose to happen. It was like a malfunction in the robot so the kids screaming and holding the glass to protect themselves was real screams and trying to protect themselves
That's not true. Behind the Scenes feature on the DVD shows that Steven Spielberg personally made storyboards for each & every shot that he worked from. You can see drawings of the shot before it was ever filmed. Also, while there was a hurricane on Hawaii while they filmed, it lasted about a day and they didn't do any filming that day. The rain in the movie was created on a sound stage.
come on! jurassic park 3 is a great movie! the freaking raptor talking was the ONLY ridiculous moment and they only added it so the movie would have SOME HUMOR
It not supposed to be a humour. It supposed to be a bad dream & freaking scary moment for the audience who would probably shocked how the raptor got on the plane atm.
Why did every one hate JP3 so much? It put Spino in the Publics eye.......EXACTLY WHAT ARCHEOLOGIST (Shromer?)WHO FOUND THE BONES WANTED! But the only known complete bones were destroyed in a bombing run during WW2. Only recently was a semi complete Spino was discovered! Guess what, it was HUGE, probably spent most of it's time on 4 legs, and was most likely a river specialist fish eater! Look up PBS's Special, Bigger the T-Rex. Looking at Shromer's (?) dreams, how WW2 not only destroyed all his discoveries AND killed 2 of his 3 sons(he was anti Nazi and paid for it) you can't help but feel bad for him. It was his dream for Spino to overtake T-Rex in terms of being a house hold name. Steven Spielberg for filled that decease paleontologists dreams thru JP3. When Steven passes away, I bet Shromer(?) will be there at the pearly gates waiting to give him a giant hug of thanks. Heck, when they discovered the recent set of Spino bones I bet Shromer's (?) spirit was there crying tears of joy. His biggest discovery, lost, was found again. And it was bigger then the T-Rex. RIP Shromer (?). You lost so much during WW2. All your discoveries, even your own children. You almost faded into oblivian. But now, everyone knows what a Spinosaurous is. Just what you wanted!
8. Adam Jones (guitarist for Tool) actually worked on the animatronic puppets for Jurassic Park and can be seen working on them in the Making of Jurassic Park bonus feature on the Blu-ray/DVD (which is where most of these things we "didn't know" came from).
heres one thing *you* didnt know about Jurassic park (mainly because you'd have no cause to know) which is that my uncle worked on the first one. He worked with industrial lights and magic on this, as well as jumangi, star trek the next generation, and schindlers list, among others
Let's face it... Hollywood has become incredibly lazy... they use WAY TOO MUCH CGI in films today and films suffer because of that! That said, Jurassic Park was done so beautifully that I really wish people making films now would pay closer attention to details. And yes, I know they had animatronics in Jurassic Park, but the CGI was really well done. The original - from 1993 - is *_still_* a classic film!
Not only is it overused but at times it doesn't even look that great. I understand the necessity for it in some instances but Anything Jim Henson's done looks better than most cg.
I just appreciate good puppetry and animatronics more so I'm definitely biased especially since nowadays CG is only used because it's cheaper and easier. But when CG is done right it can look amazing like in avatar. But if I had to choose which Yoda or Ninja turtles I liked better it would easily be the non cg versions from back in the day.
That T-Rex animatronic is so good, even whilst it's being dried with towels, it still looks better than the Jurassic world CGI! Like seriously, that footage with the towels is surreal, it really looks like they are toweling down a T-Rex:)
But again, what's wrong with lost world? I can't find anything wrong with it. I'm more confused than upset. everywhere I go, I see that lost world is terrible. I just want to know why
Dillon Smith Personally, I haven't seen it. But being closer to the source material doesn't mean it's instantly good. Some books don't work well as movies; maybe the plot wasn't as good in the book, etc. The book/source material isn't always better than the adaptation.
hmm, I do see your point (hunger games taken as an example here), but I think that both the book and the movie had an excellent plot, along with a great sense of suspense present in the series as a whole. I think that lost world was a fantastic squeal, but 90% of the community disagrees here.
Dillon Smith It's possible that it just didn't work well as a movie. A lot of stories work well as whatever source material it started as, but doesn't work well as whatever media the adaptation was.
I've just watched Jurassic Park on Netflix and it was awesome, this is one awesome movie by Steven Spielberg and he is brilliant as an Director, I love Jurassic Park.
@TheFlash Nope. Wasn't cool at all. The dinosaurs LOOKED LIKE CARTOONS. How am I supposed to be scared of dinosaurs that look FAKE? So, no, it didn't make it look cooler. It made look like a Saturday morning cartoon.
@TheFlash Not to sound arrogant but that's because you're probably young and can't make the distinction. Younger people are so used to seeing overused CGI that it has warped their brains. They have a harder time making a distinction. The dinosaurs in Jurassic Park were much better because they mixed in animatronics to trick the brain. When there is too much CGI, the brain recognizes it as fake.
@Joshua You do realize that most movies use CGI nowadays, right? Not even for just the action but for shots of cars and streets and pretty much everything in the background. CGI has gotten way better than most people, including you, realize. It's hard to create a dinosaur on a computer and make it look completely authentic. Even in Jurassic Park you can tell which shots are CGI. The only reason it doesn't look bad to you is because you're immersed in the movie. The CGI still looks good but, just like the CGI for every other movie, you could see it if you really wanted to. And by the way, it does sound arrogant to say that "younger people" can't see "the distinction". Also, I don't understand what you mean by "they mixed in animatronics to trick the brain". If you could explain what exactly you mean by them mixing them.
Jurassic Park holds up today. The special effects are great, the story is engaging and has great pace, it’s basically a perfect movie. No lulls, and with Steven Spielberg’s teamed with John Williams it’s a slam dunk of a movie.
I'm with the Nostalgia Critic on Jurassic Park 3. It didn't seem to take itself as seriously as The Lost World, so it kind of gets a free pass. It was not that great of a movie, but the Lost World kind of sucked and it expected to be good. I think the Lost World could have been a great movie, had the focus been on Pete Postletwaithe's character instead of Jeff Goldbum and Julianne Moore (both of them absolutely destroy this film) Vince Vaughn was surprisingly tolerable; although his character was the whole reason so many people died. So, if they focused on the hunters and their struggle on the island, it could have been cool. There's a deleted scene where Pete is in Mombassa, being the kickass hunter he is, when his friend comes to him to say that there's a place called Isla Sorna where dinosaurs are and he can go bag a Tyrannosaurus. During this scene, he's shown to be a tremendous badass, beating the ever living shit out of a man that can't keep his hands off a waitress (with his hand tied behind his back). If the film was about Roland Tembo, it would have been pretty cool.
Keaton Smith For fuck's sake, to be honest i only find the first JP just a tiny bit better than the second one.Like c'mon, it was amazing, memorable scenes, good characters, good acting, etc. etc. The only bad scene was...you know, that scene... ugh, do i really have to say it? Fine...where...Kelly... Ugh, kills the raptor...
George Miles Haha, that scene was so bad! "Hey, you!" Julianne Moore's acting is awful, too. I don't know what was happening, she's usually a decent actress. Stegosaurus family walked by did you see them oh wow. You can tell she had a hard time remembering those lines and was just regurgitating words. I couldn't give a shit what she was talking about.
The last action movie I can think of that used "old school" special effects was Underworld - which actually turned out really well. I think a lot of movie makers today underestimate just how much you can do without CG - though obviously CG has opened doors to scenes that simply would not have been possible 22 years ago.
In the book, Henry Wu stayed behind on the island, in fact, many of the staff didn’t evacuate in the book, which resulted with most of them getting killed early on. Henry Wu was killed by raptors after temporarily getting the power back on.
how did Steven Spielberg add the rain late into the production of the movie, when it was featured in the novel that came out in 1990? just read the chapter from the book titled, The Main Road.
Not only do the effect in the original hold up, they actually look better than a good chunk of the CG done today.
lizardlord4k That is why every one is loving Mad Max, little CGI, bad ass stunts
Amazing but true
lizardlord4kNo they dont, thats ludicrous.
BenschMan2012 I have. So what.
I agree, I wish more movies would use more practical effects instead of crappy CGI.
To be fair B.D. Wong had a lot of his scenes cut out and his character was much more important in the book.
One of the main characters in the book and was ultimately disemboweled by a raptor.
From creating dinosaurs to catching pedophiles on Law & Order SVU. Good actor that deserved more screen time. Plus, damn he aged well.
I adore the original film and love all the sequels. But Wu was very fascinating in the book.
CG effects are way overused today. Practical effects should be used wherever they can be, with CG there to fill in the gaps. No matter how good CG can be made to look, too often it comes across as awkward. Of course, there are some huge exceptions to that, but let's be honest, that's all Andy Serkis.
I know, right? That's why I didn't like Godzilla 2014: they replaced the suits with transparent CGI.
"Should be"? Why "should"? Good CG is good, bad CG is bad. Good animatronics are good, bad animatronics are bad.
I don't get this huge boner people have for animatronics. Having them there for the sake of being animatronics is just for nostalgia points.
Say the CG is bad in recent years, and then look at the animatronics of old Star Wars movies for example. Looked great back then, terribly hideous today.
Eric I agree
A hybrid of practical and CGI effects is still the best way to get the optimum results
I think practical effects are a little better, especially puppetry, like the porgs (some of their shots) in Star Wars. Come to think of it, Titanic is one of the best examples of a perfect blend between CGI and practical effects.
Jurassic Park is a masterpiece in film-making. Jurassic World is a masterpiece in hype and selling merchandise.
Why does everyone present the talking raptor scene as if it's actually part of the plot of the third movie?
TheoneandonlyCrowMan Don't think they're saying it's part of the plot so much as they're saying it's incredibly stupid.
Picking for weak spots to make the sequels look bad.
You can't deny though that it was an extremely stupid moment, probably the dumbest moment in the Jurassic Park series by far.
Michael Barbarian Because dreams are logical and always make sense, right?
fwwaller It's NOT incredibly stupid. People have weird dreams and nightmares all the time. That was the point of including it. After what Grant had experienced in JP, it's highly like he suffers from PTSD and has had nightmares about raptors ever since. Flying to Isla Sorna would likely trigger one.
Oh, how I wish the appreciated use of practical effects would return to film... :'(
There's no doubt CGI is everywhere in films today, but I'm all for it if it's done well.
There's one Easter egg you missed. In The Lost World, when the Rex walks past the basketball net in San Diego, he makes a motion with his hand. It's been interpreted two ways. Rex making a dribbling motion (as per basketball) and/or right before he does that, he cocks his head to the right and scratches his ear, referencing the Rex from King Kong.
DoomRulz He also chases a group of Japanese people at one point in the city sequence. Lol, take a guess who that references.
Tanner Barnes Not only that but lots of the crowd were the workers on the movie, that one guy that tried to open the door but couldn't and got killed was one of the somethings of the movie, being a something for this movie is important.
sheepsnoop shep David Koepp; screenwriter.
DoomRulz Or Sharptooth from the Land Before Time. Seriously.. Just about everyone depicts a T. rex scratching itself that way at some point.
Tanner Barnes godzilla reference :D
The best part is that ILM is still around and worked for jurassic world...! BEST CGI STUDIO EVER..!
Except for Ang Lee's Incredible Hulk. Not bv the best cgi forvthe hulk. But that was an early attempt at a human like figure in full cgi. So I'll always give ilm a pass for that.
Thank you for sharing with us everything the special features on the blu-ray already explained.
2:23 When he said “Awwww” Sounded like the JP2 Lost World, Juvenile Rex crying.
I love how the T-Rex dribbles when he passes the hoop near the pool. That cracks me up every time
James Cameron tried to buy the rights to the Michael Crichton book. Imagine a violent R rated 90s James Cameron Jurassic Park!
2:09 this is probably why the glass sun roof broke when the t-rex headbutted it. It wasn't supposed to break so the girl screaming is real fear.
I remember i wouldn't go the toilet after the film cuz i thought a t-rex would eat me!! (Well, I was 9) I was so scared!! Even now seeing water rippling in a cup puts me on edge 😬
I love these “you probably didn’t know about JP” videos.
As usual, I already knew everything featured in this video.
I’m glad they made it rain during the Rex attack. That scene in the book was scary as hell.
the special effects in the first one are somehow more convincing/entertaining than the newest one. I think the movie industries got a bit obsessed with cgi over the last 20 years, but hopefully movies like mad max and star wars can change that.
3:45 - Uh, no, it's actually a deinonychus. Velociraptors were 2 feet tall and were covered in feathers.
Since I was 3 years old this has been my favorite movie of all time
7:00pm and 10:00pm screenings, so it pretty much does open on 11 June.
I think all the JP movies are good, I don't care what anyone else thinks.
Yeah I think they're over criticized too. They're all not meant to be completely flawless, they are about genetically flawed dinosaurs after all!
Jimmy MACfluster cool someone else who gets jt
Same I love all the JP movie's regardless of what people say =-)
I ask agree that they are all good.
Fuck Jp 3
Omg, that poor shivery T-Rex. ❤ All those people, toweling him off. Lol
Until recently I thought everyone liked the third movie, everyone I know likes it but people on the internet don't. My ranking of the movies would be 1>3>2

Knightcowboy89 I am also. Liked it better than TLW. It had a better plot.
TheTitanSlayers i would say 1 = 2 = 3

GIVE THAT T REX A BLANKET GOD DAMN IT
lost world and jp3 where better then people say they are
Jurassic World really sucked
+ProTrainer - Goodbye TH-cam lol wrong
+ProTrainer - Goodbye TH-cam I agree. It was crap.
I haven't seen JW yet. However, I love JP & JP3. I hated JP LW.
jp3... Ew. lost world was lots of fun
The Lost World was just as good as the first one, and JP3 wasn't my favorite of the four but it was still good.
Yus! I saw it June 11th
I didn't think part 3 was that bad.
Yeah i think it only gets shit bc of the Trex vs Spino fight. Granted when the Rex bit spineys neck, it should've been over for spiney but it should've been avoided altogether if they wanted to use a new bigger, badder Dino
Critics love it the audience hate it. why you might ask because they killed the T-rex. IT'S NOT THE SAME T-REX EVERYTIME!
rhodel Ganaden AHAHAHAAAHAAA!
People loved watching the dinos chase after people in the first two movies, and that's exactly what we got in the 3rd, all movie... lol
The book had pages and pages of science and philosophy behind the dinos, but I promise you that's not what the casual movie-goer cared about when going to see them.
Electric Wolf Pup Its not Rexy BC she is female and u could tell that was a buck my friend
2:53 Thank you for mentioning my country on a channel of this caliber!

You know I was just thinking about this awesome series while on the toilet taking a crap.
I don't know why I shared that............
Watson, this is amazing. I, using Musical Theory, have created an iconic cinematic moment.
If Jurassic World is a direct sequel... THEN IT'S NOT A REBOOT!
Turbo9987 soft reboot.
Or in other words...not a reboot at all, a direct sequel.
KRSsven with different characters a significant amount of time later. Soft reboot.
It's not.
You can't help but miss the practical effects from before. :) Still an awesome film. 'Nuff said.
I liked Jurassic Park 2 and 3 very underrated.
What was wrong with it
***** it is a dream, so why not?
Mark Mane I agree.
*puts up flame shield*
I could list about 100 things I couldn't stand about TLW Jurassic Park, if you assure me you will read it, it will be a lot of text, maybe 50 lines or so.
I will break it up into paragraphs to make it easier too read.
la dodgers 4 life dude no movies are ever perfect. if there were, there will be no such channel called "cinema sins"
la dodgers 4 life I honestly don't care, don't waste your time. The only scene i personally found bad was Kelly kicking the raptor, but again, don't waste your time.
Although I love practical effects, CG is the way to go nowadays. Looks great, uses a lot less resources.
they should have used more puppets in Jurassic World they only used one apatosaurus puppet
It's been confirmed that there's not going to be anymore animatronics in the JP franchise
*Insert witty name here * wrong
*Insert witty name here * the new one the fallen kingdom is using animatronics
Jurassic park with special effects it was so good when I was 4 years old I thought it was real not kidding
2:03 I thought the all the dinosaurs were female lol

Jurassic World's official release date is also June 11th in Argentina. I'm sure it'll be the case in many countries, not just Serbia!
***** It's also in Croatia.
Sir Richard Owen and mexico
DarkAngelAfterLife Jeez, there's a reason I said "I'm sure it'll be the case in many countries". guys! XD
***** They're backing up your point! The release date is the 11th all over Europe, I dunno why he specifically said Serbia.
shaggytheshaman I wonder that myself too
This just reminded me how awesome jurassic Park is.
Funny how the dinosaurs in JP3 look better than the ones in JW
A revolutionary movie! Awesome story and ground breaking special effects.
I already knew the water cup thing. you failed cinefix....you failed
(Probably)
th4t 0n3 guy wh0 sp3lls h1s n4m3 w1th numb3rs™ I know
nudl3Zz they did say "probably"
nudl3Zz That's why they include the "probably."
nudl3Zz It's 7 things you PROBABLY didn't know.
The first Jurassic Park was done soooo well that it does look better then some movies many years after. A classic for sure.
Also: ALAN.
zmbklr101 plus JP3 brought the pterosaurs to the franchise.
Historcally speaking, the Spino and T-Rex were about the same size
Love your video!😍 pliss part 2!!
No bonuses 😢😢😢
I was soooo looking forward to a bonus bonus lol
YAAAS YOU ARE SOOO AWESOME I SUBSCRIBED AFTER WATCHING THIS EPISODE THEN WATCHED ABOUT 20 MORE!!!!!!!!!
Jurassic park 3 rocked. all of them rocked
Austin Delgado YES!!!
Finally,I see someone that agrees with me.
Knightcowboy89 The people are just hating, because the Spinosaurus kicked T-Rex's butt.
Austin Delgado Exactly! I love them all! Now to Jurassic World!
Conveniently, Earth Wind and Fire helped inspire a shot featuring the one element that doesn’t appear in their name: water.
Jurassic World's CGI blows Jurassic Park's out of the water; it's very, very good.
What are you smoking? Jurassic Worlds CGI is light years ahead of JPs, same with the Animatronics. I love the original JP, but watching it on Blu-ray, it looks nowhere near as good as Jurassic World. Take off the nostalgia goggles.
Björn Kril-Kendov
...That's exactly what I said? Read the comment again. Jurassic World's CGI is better than Jurassic Park's.
Evolfurnace Hell yeah
Evolfurnace too bad they ruined it in every other category from acting to script its a total b movie flop. naturally its breaking box office records.
roottruthseeker
You sound salty.
Everything to the OG JP holds up I am still blown away on how beautiful the T-Rex looks to this day in the road scene.
Ok, I know many Facts of Jurassic Park, but no. 1 and 5 are amazing!
at @0:38 they'res the word "sex" in the glass of water!
Holy shit
OMG!!!!!! xD
Daniel Lacombe damn your right
They must've hired some folks from Disney...
Jurassic Park...20+ years old and still the best looking dinosaurs on film.
I hated the scene in The Lost World where the T Rex eats the Dog
Why would the dog come back out of its kennel anyway?
You do know it was a MOVIE and NO dogs were harmed in the making of this MOVIE!
Itz_ Fusion They also did not ADD the rain it was the biggest hurricane in history.
Itz_ Fusion oh wow
That's not true. Behind the Scenes feature on the DVD shows that Steven Spielberg personally made storyboards for each & every shot that he worked from. You can see drawings of the shot before it was ever filmed.
Also, while there was a hurricane on Hawaii while they filmed, it lasted about a day and they didn't do any filming that day. The rain in the movie was created on a sound stage.
You all have been watching too much Crazy Nate!
I love your jurrastic park movies the effects are fantastic
come on! jurassic park 3 is a great movie! the freaking raptor talking was the ONLY ridiculous moment and they only added it so the movie would have SOME HUMOR
It not supposed to be a humour. It supposed to be a bad dream & freaking scary moment for the audience who would probably shocked how the raptor got on the plane atm.
Reaper FTW As much as I love JP 3 it is an opinion
JP3 was actually pretty decent, given it gave the flying dinosaurs screen time
No JP3 is bad couse t-rex got killed by much weaker dino
I knew all of this lol. I just love Jurassic Park.
But spino could not take on a T-Rex
Yeah. But the movie also increased some hatred for the Spinosaurus. Even if it is bigger, Tyrannosaurus is still the most popular dinosaur ever.
Hank J. Wimbleton my uncle worked on the lotr movies
Wow to both of you! My great grandfather worked on movies back in the 40’s and 50’s, and my grandpa still talks about him.
"since all our action movies are cartoons now" - I'm dead
Let's face it... Hollywood has become incredibly lazy... they use WAY TOO MUCH CGI in films today and films suffer because of that! That said, Jurassic Park was done so beautifully that I really wish people making films now would pay closer attention to details. And yes, I know they had animatronics in Jurassic Park, but the CGI was really well done. The original - from 1993 - is *_still_* a classic film!
Yea. It's like the difference between the LOTR and the Hobbit. One looks real and amazing and other as fake as...
That's cause filmmakers no longer put time and effort into films
Totally awesome, thanks. :)
CG is totally overused these days.. pisses me off.
Random Guy oh yeah, you're right
last 3 words
Right Back At Cha
Vanadeo yep
WHY DOES EVERYONE SHIT ON LOST WORLD
IT DID WAY MORE JUSTICE TO THE BOOK THAN THE FIRST MOVIE
WHAT THE FUCK??
Because being close to the book =/= being a good movie.
I loved Jurassic world! Even though I had a panic attack near the end of the movie. So scary but so awesome!
CG is overused? George Miller says otherwise.
I've just watched Jurassic Park on Netflix and it was awesome, this is one awesome movie by Steven Spielberg and he is brilliant as an Director, I love Jurassic Park.
Not only do the Jurassic Park effects still hold up today but they look so much better then the shit Jurassic World put out.
I love this channel.
I knew all 7 of them.
Am I JP nerd or what?
George Miles
Haha, that scene was so bad! "Hey, you!"
Julianne Moore's acting is awful, too. I don't know what was happening, she's usually a decent actress. Stegosaurus family walked by did you see them oh wow. You can tell she had a hard time remembering those lines and was just regurgitating words. I couldn't give a shit what she was talking about.
Keaton Smith Makes me wonder how they even got the parts to play in the movie in the first place!
*****
Julianne Moore has a great reputation, but Lost World is such a let down.
Keaton Smith I thought her acting was fine.
The last action movie I can think of that used "old school" special effects was Underworld - which actually turned out really well. I think a lot of movie makers today underestimate just how much you can do without CG - though obviously CG has opened doors to scenes that simply would not have been possible 22 years ago.
Am I the only one who thought Jurassic world was horrible?
+Tyler is Hyper yes
+TheBigBear that movie was corny AF
***** But the spino and pteranodons
It was, and it had no character development. You didn't care about any of the characters... Just a loud CG movie...
Yes.
In the book, Henry Wu stayed behind on the island, in fact, many of the staff didn’t evacuate in the book, which resulted with most of them getting killed early on. Henry Wu was killed by raptors after temporarily getting the power back on.
_"We're ignoring Jurassic Park III for obvious reasons."_
But JP3 was entirely better than The Lost World.
Please. I love JP3 but it's no way better than The Lost World.
how did Steven Spielberg add the rain late into the production of the movie, when it was featured in the novel that came out in 1990? just read the chapter from the book titled, The Main Road.
Okay I knew everything apart from CHRIS PRATT IS THE VOICE OF EMMET HOW AM I ONLY FINDING THIS OUT WTF
Olivia Hunter ikr
3:52 That's one of the best JP facts.
JP3 is MUCH better then JW. Sorry.
I agree
Number 6: they reuse the head for both starlord and owen bc in the live action movie versions it is the same actor so that makes sense
