It's interesting how the villains have elaborate machines that are activated by a single switch or push of a button.
13:34 Giant oranges, too? All we need are some giant jumbo shrimp, lots of corn, truckloads of herbs and spices, plenty of sausage links, and that seafood boil/tray is about to be awesome.
Great review as always
Holy night of the Lepus, Batman.
Let’s see: Superman, Aquaman, Batman and Robin, Wonder Woman and two geeky teens and an obese dog with a cape.
Feels Like I'm in sesame street. Today's episode was bright to you by the letter U.
He doesn’t understand supply and demand. Oh ho ho.
At least last episode, Aquaman was allowed to run around with a whole bulldozer blade to deflect tidal waves.
0:56 Egads! It's a contrabass tuning fork!
I believe I heard somewhere that they wanted Adam West Burt Ward and Lynda Carter to voice the characters her but e they weren't able to get them
"Some days you just can't get rid of a whale!" 🤣😂🤣😅😄
As always, entertaining critiquing.
That’s not me that’s a U.
Wouldn’t there be a visible doorway in the ground.
Growing up, I loved all the DC pantheon, but I'd be lying if I said Batman wasn't my absolute favorite. Not because of Frank Miller, or Grant Morrison, Chris Nolan, or any of the standard "best Batman" answers. Back then, and now, my favorite stuff came from the monthly comics, that towed the line. So, if a Super Friends episode has a bit more Batman and Robin in it, I'm sold.
And more nerding out. I see Batman kept referring to Robin as the "Teen Wonder". They were doing that, in the Batman comics, but this should also be around the time Robin was off, leading the Titans. That started in the 60's. Maybe the brand recognition, of Batman and Robin meant they'd have to appear together. I'm not complaining, mind you. I like Robin, too. But just matching the timing, and major hindsight, this seems like prime Titans front man, Robin.
Still, great seeing more of Batman and Robin.
Also, that darn Rita Repulsa making things grow, again. Batman does have a giant mech, laying around.
doesn't Dr Shamon look like Dr Evil or is it me
8:39 This is kind of the cartoon version of the DeForest Kelley 1972 horror movie Night of the Lepus ,about giant mutated rabbits.
I saw Night of the Lepus years ago on TCM. I think it must have been on Friday night as part of their regular underground/cult/camp programming. That film was released into the world the same year that I was, but I suspect even it has fared better than I have.
I guess Marvin didn't pay attention in HS science class.
15:52 Well, as the saying goes, speak the devil's name and he doth appear!
I had forgotten how stupid early Super Friends was.
12:52 Does anyone else suddenly feel hungry for seafood?
4:13 The real question is: is it real or fake gold?
I hope you can get the other Superfriends seasons Irving, because this used to be one of my favorite cartoons. Also, a bit off topic, but would you ever consider doing a Q and A video? '
I've considered an AMA but I don't know how to do those yet. Looking into it.
@@dwashbur Good to hear!
For some reason, this episode reminds me of The Twight Zone episode called "The Rip Van Winkle Caper". The fact that an abundance of gold would cause the value to plummet is apparent the TZ episode, but obviously not mention in this cartoon. Not much sense in delving into it too far for the target audience, I guess.
😎
I have to disagree on the "useful" rant. Gold is useful for a variety of purposes, including medicine, dentistry, and electronics. However, the understanding of economics is better. The Spanish learned it the hard way when they flooded their own market with gold extracted from the Americas.
On the other side of it, the market won't react until there is enough in the market that it gets noticed. The first meteor should set him and his flunkies up for life, but they'll have to sell a little at a time, and spread the sales around the world. They can't rent a dump truck and drive it to the local pawn shop.
Ask your friend Hazel if killing a mouse is fun.
I've never seen her even notice one. She's a lover, not a hunter.
There was a study of feral cats that showed they ate 25% of what they caught demonstrating the cat chases prey for the excitement of the hunt.
When my cat Marshmallow would catch a mouse she would hold it by the neck and drown it in the water bowl. It would struggle for some time, which I guess was the excitement.
My brother’s cat could kill rabbits bigger than herself and did, though she was well fed.
Ugh! Shame on You?! I've known of this episode for over 40 years, and never clicked to that before! (Of course, in fairness to myself, when I first watched it back in the 70s I was probably something like 8 years old...)
