How has voting democrat worked out for African Americans in my generation (last 20-30 years)? Not too well. My brothers need to take a true hard look at the democrat policies and see if they are being freed or taken advantage of.
My immediate thought goes to Detroit. It has not voted any other way than Democrat in six decades and has gone from America's highest per capita income city to a bankrupt cesspool. When the people in power aren't held to any sort of expectations and can do whatever they want, they will.

Not That Guy Detroit is a very complex issue with racial, economic, and corruption issues. I grew up hearing that the black people in Detroit rioted and destroyed the city, which made all the businesses move out. It didn't take much research to learn that the situation was really far more complex than that. Detroit riot in 1943 killed 34 people, and was caused by the frustrations of black residents fed up with abuse from an all-white city government and police force. White flight in many neighborhoods began soon after the first waves of black workers began arriving from the south.In turn, this acted as a catalyst for "white flight" to the suburbs, something that happened in most major cities during this period, but that was particularly acute in Detroit. By the late 1950s, the automakers were already moving most of their operations to new plants in the suburbs. Those new plants required far less workers than the ones built in the early 1900s. Worse, most of the suburbs discouraged or prevented black workers from buying homes there in an attempt to keep the "Detroit black problem" contained. The 1967 riots scared even more white people out of the city and brought national attention to Detroit's deep problems, but the riots were a symptom of a downward spiral already in progress rather than a major cause of the city's economic decline. Anti-union measures, ongoing competitive pressures from Japan, and general economic dislocation that began in the Reagan era and has picked up steam since then with the shift to a service, digitally-oriented economy, all helped the initial downward spiral pick up speed. Governmental mismanagement at the local level also played a role. In many ways, Detroit represents the perfect storm of what happened to a lot of cities that had been built on an industrial base which fled overseas, coupled with the flight of folks to suburban areas ringing the cities. It's case is unique in severity, but not in kind.

Trump got only 8% of the black vote and now with the handling of the COVID-19 virus and the large protests across U.S against police brutality it should be clear why now just 3% supports Trump(probably not true, but it’s less than what it was in 2016). So as a black Democrat supporter living in Norway (I am not partisan right now) it seems like blexit has failed, maybe it would grow again after the election when most of this is forgotten, but for now it seems that Joe Biden would win the black vote far greater then Hillary Clinton.

He left out the compromise of 1876 that took federal troops out the south which led to Jim Crow. Blacks felt betrayed by the Republican Party and ultimately in the 1900s started to become intrigued by progressive reformers in the Democratic Party

Being from Boston that’s literally all I knew. I was a democrat when I was younger and voted for Obama mainly due to ignorance and even being bullied and guilted in a way. Other blacks would act like it’s a crime if you had a different political opinion and like it was illegal and immoral to vote red.

Where you see the blue shift as “people started to care more about you” was really “people noticed the value of a vulnerable community that would easily be swayed.” Lyndon B. Johnson, the Democratic President most known for signing the Civil Rights Act, actually called it the N****r Bill. The Democratic Party saw the importance of the black vote. While the black vote still was still a minority vote, they saw how easily it could be swayed. When someone is under oppression, they will always be less critical on those who they considered that set them free. You can see the false nature in many Democratic Senators. Our President said it himself “Poor kids are just as bright and talented as white kids.” You can easily dissect that and see the nature of racism. I’m not defending Republicans either, I don’t believe any party has our best interest in their belief. Politicians will sooner push the narrative of an emotional request for a law to be changed than a logical request. The Bi-Partisan system needs to end and politicians’ wages need to be drastically cut. There should be no reason that a congressman, who should be there for the people, makes a minimal of 3x the average American (which the average is 53k, but still drastically higher than the truth because the 1%) at 175k a year. As far as your statement of the house containing those who currently hate the black community, the only existence of white supremacy does exist in the extremist right side.
