I have a question.. how does it look on Tall guys like me? I am 6.2 I don't want to order it and it comes out short hanging looking ugly in my back. I want some thing to fill the complete back when I wear it with the shoulder straps.. Thanks a Lot
Does this feel heavy when it is fully packed out? I have been using a AER gym backpack but when I take it on travels and long days my shoulders end up getting sore. Deciding between the daily+ and the daybreaker 2, leaning towards the daybreaker 2 for its lesser weight and packability in a luggage but I do like the options of more pockets on the daily+
The Plus and DB2 do different things. Plus is geared for daily commute/tech use, whereas the DB2 is for more outdoor, gym, adventure, hiking style use (it’s also a bit bigger at 25L compared to the Plus at 21L). I’d say if lightweightedness and travel is important to you, do the DB2. I will say that the X-PAC version of the DB2 is noticeably more rigid (I like that) but if you want sheet collapsibility and packability in your luggage the ripstop nylon will be thinner and lighter (but also not as robust). Hope this helps! Use my affiliate link in description and I’ll earn a small commission 🤘🏼
Such a fantastic review! I like how detailed it was, leaving me with no questions at the end. I feel like backpacks are often an overlooked part of EDC, and underestimated with how truly useful they can be. Loving the content, can't wait to see what's next 🤙
Wassup Ron, yeah I've been using the original Able Carry for 2 years and it's one of the best bagpack I've used and I've used alot. Love the silhouette and how the bag just keeps it's shape with the way it's built.
So hard to find that bag with all the features you want. So far my favorite bag is the moment bag as the laptop compartment is separate which I really like. The only downside I see is the bag has no attachment points for carbineers or even a small attachment point to where I can put my snapback hat when traveling.
Just got this bag in the Olive VX42. I've had a few too many "last" EDC packs (Aer, Goruck, Evergoods, Mystery Ranch, Alpaka, Mission Workshop, Chrome, Timbuk2, Topo Designs) but first impressions with my load out tells me this is a contender! I love the build quality, enough but not too much organization, and the size is at a good sweet spot. Time will tell how the elastic bits hold up, and I don't love the magnetic sternum strap, but not a deal breaker by a long shot. Thanks for your review!
It’s tough bc even “daily” usage varies day to day, and all those brands you listed out have stellar packs in their respective categories. The Daily Plus checks enough boxes on my general list of daily requirements and it sounds like it does for you too! I agree that only time will tell and I’m stoked to see how this holds up after six months, but first impressions are 🔥 thanks for your input and Live with a Purpose man!
A purpose that seems to be difficult to find a great fit. It is using a backpack for the excess travel clothes that won't fit in one's main duffle-style (about 20L) bag. One hand for the bag, one hand free for "whatever" you need a free hand. But, one needs something for the extra "stuff" and one does not need/want a second bag that now needs your second hand--hence the idea of a backpack.
Not sure if you'll see this comment, but I have an unrelated question. Would you mind letting me know where you got the hoodie that you're wearing in this video? It looks extremely lightweight and comfortable, two qualities I'm definitely looking for given how hot these summer days are. Loved the review as well BTW. The jacket just look so stylish and stuck out to me throughout the entire video LOL. Have a great day my man.
I wouldn't fully submerse this, or any typical daily backpack. Definitely read up on IP waterproofing ratings, but the long and short of it is this - waterproofing isn't a definite thing, it's more of a "this material can last without water permeating it at X depth, for Y minutes." So the higher the rating, the longer this will last. Then you have to account for zippers and webbing/straps. If you want a fully submersible bag, I'd suggest looking at diving gear, or even Pelican cases that have rubber gaskets to ensure waterproofability. Waterproofing in this context is more for keeping severe rain out, which this bag is well-equipped to do. Hope this helps!
@@RonKwok yeah I'm just more concerned with the thickness since it's a bit thicker than the 32oz Nalgene, I think. 10.5cm for the Yeti vs 9cm for the Nalgene.
Great review. This bag seems to be what I'm looking for. My only concern is that I want it to serve as a personal item that fits under seat when traveling by plane. I have an upcoming trip on United which states their personal item dimensions are restricted to 17 x 10 x 9. Given that the Daily Plus is 19.3 x 11.4 x 7.5, do you think this bag (if not overpacked) can be stuffed into a space of that size?
It definitely can be put under the seat if you don’t stuff it to the max. It’s a bigger problem with hard shell backpacks that aren’t as malleable, but the Daily + should do the trick 👌🏼 Can’t control if the TSA agent decides to pull out his tape measure but it should be a solid companion!
Hey! this is a great review. I just got myself an EVERGOODS CPL 24L - Its a great backpack, but I feel its too big for everyday carry. I can use it for longer short travels, camps etc. I am looking for a Daily backpack for work and basic essentials like what you have shown here, without unnecessary empty space (it kind of makes the shape of the backpack look odd too). So my question is will getting this be unecessary?
Depends on whether you think the CPL is kinda too big or WAY too big. 24L vs 21L isn't much of a difference, and depending on how basic your essentials are, you might be able to get away with a sub 20L bag. Other factors to consider are budget (since you just got the CPL) and build quality (Peak Design Everyday 20L and Mystery Ranch UA 21L also come to mind). These backpacks all are pretty rigid, so will keep their shape even if not completely full. Hope this helps and stoked to see what you get!
Thumbs up but why only additional 1 liter? The pricing is consistent as current price of daily backpack is USD $138 yet this one for additional 1L is $198. Strange!? I wish they could have move the laptop compartment in its separate compartment like in the back. You could have also shown accessing the front zipper pocket when the water bottle pockets is full and see how hard it is to access the front pocket.
Thanks for the detailed feedback, I do appreciate it! The front pocket isn’t too impeded by the bottle, but that’ll depend on the bottle size and width. Pricing difference probably (I’m not an Able Carry employee so I’m only speculating) isn’t from just increasing capacity - interior revisions, material upgrades, and additional R&D all factor into the new MSRP. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Thanks Ethan!! You DEFINITELY are an initiate tier member, I'm so sorry that I missed your name in the list at the end. I'll make sure I show you some love first thing on the next video 🔥🔥
To be honest, those like me who already own the Bellroy Transit Workpack 20L see nothing new about this bag. I don't deny that's it's well built and durable, but my Workpack has the same features, like the 'hidden' bottle slots, the top pocket, has more organization, plus it has a dedicated laptop compartment - so you don't have to open the main compartment to access your laptop (and its accessories), which is very useful going through airport security. Otherwise, thanks for the great review!
nice video..what is your brand and model name headphones always bring daily EDC Bag please?what is inside weird shape black case with metal hanger and small bag please?
Would you say the bag has plenty of room in the main compartment for a jacket, and slim pair of shoes? It's 21L yet in every video I see the main compartment doesn't look like it would hold much. I just ordered one and appreciate the return policy but you (the customer) have to pay for the return.
I think it definitely has room for a jacket and pair of shoes, albeit there are limitations you have to consider (i.e. how big is the jacket and how big are the shoes, and what else are you planning to carry inside). 21L is a great daily use size, but depending on your daily needs it can either be plenty of room or not enough room. Bag selection always starts with purpose and your specific needs in my opinion. Regarding the return policy, yea I feel like only the largest brands like Amazon and Nordstrom etc. have a sufficient business model to offer free return shipping. Able Carry is definitely a smaller brand putting out quality stuff. Hopefully you won't need to use it 😅 Cheer and enjoy the bag!
