Please do everyone watching a favor and install the riving knife. I say this only because 1 week ago, I didnt. 4 stitches later, and a painful week.... well, you get the idea.
Great video and inspiration. Just got a bunch of cedar scraps from my Father-in-law yesterday, now I have another idea of what to do with them. Thank you
Just came across this video… as a builder and someone whose seen many woodworking videos.. I’ve gotta say, I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Your style of building, instruction, process throughout the video, and how you finished with showing how others are making money building something similar was very nice. Please keep them coming! 🙏
Awesome idea. I’d perhaps do things just a little differently with mitred corners etc. but otherwise I like it. Would probably look good painted a mid grey, but with the drawer fronts and top stained a rich jarrah or walnut.
Looks great. I’ll definitely give it a go. Table saw and a planer thicknesses would help, but I’m going to try with 4 by 1 gravel boards, hand plane and glue up.
Hey, great video. I’m just about to build a hall table & I was tossing up how to build the drawers, I’ll just make your design bigger, add some legs & job done. Thanks.
You could certainly do the whole build with glue and brads. It's just out of habit that I do the base of most of my projects with Kregs for extra strength, which you don't need in a small project like this.
Sorry for the beginner’s question, but is your board 3/4 inches thick and 8 inches wide? And what size pocket hole crews did you use? Thank you!! Love this and want to give it a shot myself
Very cool build. I will say it's interesting that people are buying those for $125+ a pop. They are worth it.. the quality of the wood, etc makes them much better than flimsy $40 or so crap you can buy. But still.. that's not "cheap". If I could make 5 or 6 of those a day 5 days a week and sell 25 or so a week.. that would be an amazing way to live. lol. Of course I'd build other things too.. but I do wonder how much shipping is, and how you box them up. The box to ship them in, the foam/padding/etc to put in the box so they arrive nice. How much does all that cost. I see Etsy is 6.5% transaction + 3% credit card (typical). Just curious what the profit is after materials, etsy fees and shipping/packaging? And how does one package these different wood projects? I am in to making subwoofers as well, those are heavy. I have to imagine shipping is like $50 to $150 depending on weight. If not more if shipped over seas. I subbed because I loved the ending with your wife "begging" so she can her nails done haha. That was pretty cool and your face after that. Loved it.
Thanks! I ship packages from my store that are 33 lbs., 36" x 18" box that is around $30-$35 for most places in the continental US. It gets ridiculous shipping to Alaska or Hawaii. For lighter projects I use bubble wrap and kraft paper. Larger items like the one I mentioned, I use 1/2" foam I get at Lowes. 8' x 4' sheet for $10, then cut to size.
Nice project but your safety procedures are very lax. As a teacher on this platform, you need to bone up on table saw safety and then demonstrate those principles to your audience (some of whom don’t know any better). For example, where is your riving knife? If you don’t think you need it, you are very mistaken and you have on your hands an accident just waiting to happen. Another thing is that we woodworkers need to study up on when to use the fence, and when to use a miter gauge or a crosscut sled. Crosscutting a plank of wood by sliding the short end along the fence is a REALLY dangerous thing to do. It’s another recipe for disaster. I firmly believe that we who teach woodworking owe it to our viewers to demonstrate proper safety protocols. You might save somebody’s hand, and you might save your own. I realize this message has a bit of a scolding tone, as I’m writing it quickly, but I mean it as a helpful heads-up because newbies don’t know what they don’t know and I want them to be safe. It only takes a split second of carelessness or distraction to create a profoundly life-changing accident.
Please do everyone watching a favor and install the riving knife. I say this only because 1 week ago, I didnt. 4 stitches later, and a painful week.... well, you get the idea.
Or, you could make sure that the fence has a 1/64” runout and won’t bind the wood…
@@Qulevra except that wouldnt have helped in my case. The riving knife would have.
Nice job, I like it !!
Thanks!
Excellent tutorial and thank you for your service.
I appreciate it!

My wife tells me that all the time lol

If you left out the drawers, it is still very nice pice of practical furniture. My wife woud put flowers on top and i csn stah my things under part.
True!
You know that a happy wife brings a happy life, soooooooooooooooo...! Thank you for the video! I like this simple but very beautiful design.
Haha, that's true... thanks for the kind words!
What kind of wood did you use, and what size was it?
I use edge glued project panel that I get at Lowes. It comes in several sizes but I usually get the 16" x 36" size.
Nice project, I'll try to make one of these, and I subscribed!
Thank you!
Your wife is a hoot!
Ha! I'll let her know

Sounds great!
Are all the measurements listed? I couldn’t find them. I might be doing something wrong.
I just updated the description with the measurements.
Anyone who puts the Army flag in their background is alright by me! Nice little build.
ESSAYONS!
Thanks!
Just out of curiosity, if you are already using Brad nails and putty on the top and back, why bother with the pocket holes and screws ?

Thank you for that nice video.
What type of wireless mic are you using?
Thank you. Its a Fulaim X5 off of Amazon.
Did I miss the measurements for the drawers?
I just updated the description with the measurements.

Looks to be 3/4 thick pine. 1.25 kreg screws..coarse thread.
@myhoneyshandmade1077 has it right. The wood is project panel from Lowes, great stuff to work with, mix of Pine, Spruce, and Fir.

Very nice but, it doesn't need a back and the divider does not need to go all the way back. This way less wood less money more profit.
True.
Why not use rebates instead of pocket screws. Your riving knife is already removed….
Buy your wife a mani/pedi. Good video, good idea too.
I sure will! Thanks!
Cool video fellow vet… subscribed 🫡

How about using a nail gun in the proper direction.
