This movie was like Fantasia! and it went from beautifully uplifting to beautifully depressing and back again. (the Princess Mononoke score was the cherry on top for this video! thank you for this tribute!)

Music from Princess Mononoke? That's awesome! One of my favorite Studio Ghibli movie!
Good evening. "Dreams" directed by the master Akira Kurosawa, but with music from "Princess Mononoke" by the great Joe Hisaishi (and directed by the master Hayao Miyazaki). I remember when I watched this movie in a cinema... I loved all tales (dreams), but "The Tunnel" made me shake. Best regards and good luck.

It does not deserve to be the video with the least views of the channel, this movie is masterful, one of my favorites by Akira Kurosawa, even this channel also deserves more followers from people.

I've had this movie in my library for years and I still haven't brought myself to watch it in full
They're pretty sure the part with the Japanese soldier (my favorite part) was directed by Ishiro Honda who was known for Godzilla and many other Kaiju and life long friend (almost brother really) to Kurosawa. In fact Kurosawa often gave praise to Honda for helping revive him for his later career starting with Kagemusha. Honda deserves more credit for his simplistic beauty.
Honda was a POW for much of the war and one of the first things he saw getting back home was the wreckage of Hiroshima (this partly inspired Godzilla). It made him an ardent pacifist-that short being directed by him makes sense.

Je vient de découvrir Dreams de Akira Kurosawa. Wikipédia nous en dis entre autre la chose suivante :
"Réalisé en 1989, ce film est composé de huit courts-métrages, huit « rêves-cauchemars » d’Akira Kurosawa lui-même."
N'hésitez pas à aller voir tout ce qu'en dis Wikipédia si comme moi vous ne connaissiez pas ce film.
En tout cas, merci à "The Beauty Of" car en plus de nous émerveiller, il nous cultive...
