Ugly ducklings are so essential to any artist and should be embraced. They are like footprints. A testimony of your artistic journey. No journey, no excellence. Jackie, you've turned your ugly duckling into a stunning multi-layered beauty❤! Aloha from Berlin ❤️🧡💛💚💜 - sorry for being late ... life's happening ...
That little brayer has quickly become a favorite of mine. As for the subtitles, I now have the videos subtitled in 50 different languages so people watching from anywhere can understand the crazy experiment I do in the studio 😂 🥰
3:29 Yes! Skinny brayer FTW! I love the light you created in this piece by covering up the dark. That yellow is delish. Fantastic as always. Thanks for the mention. 😍
Thank you, Trina - I swear, the skinny brayer "made" this piece, and you're welcome - I hope a bunch of new people get to fall in love with your work, too. 🥰
There are so many great lessons we can learn from making art - the power to change things is one of them. As always, Happy, thank you for the lovely words here. 🥰
Dappled sunlight emerging through what was a dark sky, whispering hope that the light never goes away 😍. Love it! 😍 That gel print pull was gorgeous too. Thank you Jackie, I shall be attending to my ‘what the hell happened here’ journal pages. 🙏🏻😍🙏🏻😘
Oh my dear Jackie 🥳 I just noticed, that you reached 15 000 subscribers ! Heartfelt congratulations 🥳🥳🥳 I love that you deal with "ugly" pages and how to feed the ugly duckling, till it becomes a shining swan. Quite a pleasing development from dizzy dark to uplifting daylight. Thanks for showing, Jackie. Have a pleasant Sunday and week 🤗. Britta 🥰
Thank you, Britta, I can hardly believe the 15,000 mark - it makes my head spin! I love that you called it a shining swan 🦢 💜, from now on I'll try to remember that whenever I make an ugly duckling 🥰
@ 6 minutes I liked the page and would have stamped some large leafy or floral images and then cut up the page for greeting cards! That’s how I work on the gel prints I create! Your choice of brighter colors created a lovely morning mist look!
Kathryn, I can totally see the morning misty look and your vision at minute 6 - and you're right, it would have been a good use for the gel prints. 😀 🥰
How fun was that! Now I have to get out a bunch of "what was I THINKING?" journal pages and obliterate them with new layers.... And that tiny brayer is just adorable, by the way.
💜💜💜 Love how you “rescued” the page. I have one I just walked away from because it went ugly, and now I’m planning to redo it tomorrow. The tiny brayer is so adorable.
I told you that you inspired something 😜 I think that this would be such a fun workshop - have everyone bring their "uglies" and reimagine them...hmmmm...I may have to do something with that. Thank you for the inspiration 💜🥰
Hi Terri - I'm so happy you're here! I swear, gel plate pulls surprise me almost every time - especially when I use the plate as a palette. I'm thrilled that you're enjoying the videos. 🥰
Ha, ha….I got that skinny brayer too after seeing Trina use it…..though mine is even skinnier…she should get royalties 🥰. Can’t wait to fix my ugly pages…thank you!
@@PaintedPaperStudio I actually liked the dark and moody.... Kind of my vibe... But that one is great as well! Definitely more you than the original version
Thank you so much for this video! I have a painting that I did years ago that I put aside because the background was dark and I wasn’t experienced enough to lighten it. Seeing what you did here, I feel I can attempt to fix it. Definitely need to get a skinny brayer!!! Thank you again for sharing. I look forward to Saturdays to see what you have for us next 😊
Good morning, I recently discovered Geli printing. I love making designs for my junk journals. It’s killing me that I can’t get into working on them until I recover from a back surgery I had 2 weeks ago. I love your work.
Oh no, Jana! I hope your recovery is going well and that the pain is minimal. I understand your frustration in not being able to do your printing right now - gel printing is the one art thing that you really cannot do from bed. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you'll be back and printing as soon as possible! 🥰
Ha! I saw that same narrow brayer and had to have one myself. The art journal page turned out so beautifully! I particularly enjoyed seeing that light blue and that mars pale. Are you familiar with pan pastels? I have a tint very similar to that mars and it's my go-to. Thank you for sharing this fabulous transformation and your infectious joy. I'm off to transform my own journal page that very much lost the plot.
Thank you Ellen! The Light Phthalo Blue and the Titan Mars Pale are a dreamy combination. I do have a stack of very old pan pastels - I'll have to pull them out and see if I have it. Thank you so much for being here! 🥰

Queen - I'm just happy you are here, and hope that "life" is ok, just busy. Thank you (as always) for your very kind words. 🥰
Thank you, my friend 🤩! I'm fine, just busy.
That’s a great little brayer. And thanks for having subtitles on this video!

That page is so pretty when you finished.

Yes! Good save on that journal page Jackie!!
I’m so happy it turned out the way it did 🥰
Oh just love how the ugly duckling turned into a swan!! Make a great background for a mixed media page! ❤❤
Thank you, Frosty! Maybe I'll do that in another video - it's a good idea. 🥰
Dappled sunlight emerging through what was a dark sky, whispering hope that the light never goes away 😍. Love it! 😍

Well now that makes me super happy! Thank you for being here, Elle! 🥰
That's it! I'm going to do my Sunday morning getting rid off my ugliest pages! Thanks Jackie 😂
I love it, Linda! It's the artist's version of "turn that frown upside down." I hope you have a blast doing it 🥰
A well deserved happy dance 😁
Thank you, Tomasina! 💃🏻🥰
Light covering the darkness is a metaphor of our human way of out with the bad, in with the good! May the light continue to shine on you 🥰
Beautiful, Diana, thank you! 🥰

I am telling you, Diane - I'm going to find a million different ways to use that little brayer 😍
What a gorgeous transformation of that dark page, I love your color choices!!
Thank you, Deanna - I love those colors so much, I'm just happy to have a bright page again. 🥰
Beautiful save! ❤
I was pretty nervous, but totally happy with the result. 🥰
Your sheer joy of color and the unexpected from the gel plate is infectious. And that a key reason for viewing this channel.
Thank you, Chuck - I really can't contain it! I'm so happy it keeps you here. 🥰

🙌🏼 100% truth! 🙌🏼
OMGosh - there is a skinnier one?! * swoon * 🥰
Thank you 🙏 ❤
No, thank YOU! 🥰
Nice way to flip it!!!!
Thank you, Chloé! It was such a relief to get rid of all that dark, moody paint. 🥰

Thanks!
Ellen, thank you very much for your generosity and support. It means so much to me! 🥰
That text really “finished” that piece!
I agree - it's the little things! 🥰

@@PaintedPaperStudio Aww Thank you beautiful
Where is the link to Trina's channel. I loved the redo of the page. I purchased the little brayer. Thank you!
Julie - thank you for letting my know that Trina’s link was missing from the description. It’s there now 🥰
Hello Julie, I found it by hitting the word "more" and scrolling down, down, right to the bottom of the page. There it is 🤩
