- #Starliner and #AtlasV have rolled to the launch pad on United Launch Alliance's Space Launch Complex-41. This is one of the final milestones before it launches on May 19 to the International Space Station on its Orbital Flight Test-2 journey.

Boeing partly owns the Atlas family of rockets with Lockheed Martin. My guess is they would rather use their own then a competitors.
To be fair, Starliner is compatible to fly on the Falcon 9 if necessary.

Dissimilar redundancy; means that in the unlikely event that there's a fault/problem with F9/Dragon, NASA has a completely separate system (which shouldn't have the same fault/problem) to get astronauts to the ISS.

It's kind of pointless now. Don't get me wrong, im a diehard boeing fan but with what spacex is doing now? They can do the same thing cheaper, safer and much faster. We're still only going with this program because of what was invested into it. It'll continue to bleed cash.

I think you mis spelled Dragon which has had several literal tragedies having exploded TWICE for ISS missions
