I know freeman was hurt but seeing this comment after gerrit Cole not running to first in game 5 is just hilarious. Yankees didn’t play team ball at all
Other than his first start where the coaches messed with his delivery, he had a 2.5 ERA in his first season, while acclimating to a new culture, not speaking the language and being a league that is triple the size of the NPB. I think he is already worth the money, he just needs to stay healthy is all.
@@SweetZombiJesus I am a Japanese fan who has been watching Yamamoto since his debut. His pitching is excellent, but his real strength is his adaptability to any environment or opponent. And he is 26 years old. Please look forward to his future growth.
@@Airwolf515 yeah, but aside from those two homers he barely sent anyone on base. Plus he only rested two games between. Considering the Padres big bats two runs shouldn’t have been that hard.
Remember, we're all human! There will be days Ohtani won't hit and Yamamoto will give home runs away. But we know what they're capable of! Let's keep faith and GO DODGERS!
I hope this outing teaches many of the Dodgers fans that doubted him and were asking to not use him as a starter again against the Padres. Baseball is about context and well thought analysis, is not a good take to let overreaction dominate
Japan has helped carry us in Los Angeles into the NLCS. This is the first match against New York since 1988!!!! THIS IS WHEN IT GETS SERIOUS. If Yamamoto and ohtani perform, they will become legends here forever
I only wish that people from Japan could experience the beauty of an NLCS game at Dodger stadium, Chavez ravine, Los Angeles, as the sun is setting. The quiet. The noise. The tension. The different shades of color hitting the field from the sun. The sound of each pitch hitting the catcher's mitt. The tension in the stadium when ohtani is batting will be absolutely ELECTRIC
I'm a Padres fan. It's looked throughout the game that the Dodgers will take the series. It's one of those games where being behind 1-0 feels very much like being down 5-0. The Padres' bats have gone silent. Well, I'll go ahead and congratulate the Dodgers and commend them for turning the series around very impressively. I'd rather that the Padres had continued their magic, but may the best team win. Disappointing, but that's the beauty of baseball. Tons of suspense!
You're a cool Padres fan! Darvish pitched very well but Dodgers pitching the last 2 game was unbelievable! It's not easy shutting down the Padres offense for 24 straight innings.
@mp0wa Yeah, it was either some sort of weird collapse by the Padres offense, or genius on the part of Roberts and Dodger pitching. Or both! But it was dramatic.
Couple of scary moments like 2 on with Tatis at the plate, but he was ice cold. Nicely done, Yoshi! If he has a heater and curveball, he doesn't necessarily need the splitter as long as he has command.
I'm so here for Yamamoto's redemption arc. First MLB start and he gives up 5 runs in one inning against the Padres. Now, he puts the Padres to bed with 5 shutout innings. Poetry.
Love how Yamamoto and other pitchers did a great job covering Freeman in defense, which definitely showcased real teamwork!
I know freeman was hurt but seeing this comment after gerrit Cole not running to first in game 5 is just hilarious. Yankees didn’t play team ball at all
Yoshi always redeems himself after a bad outing, like all his games in Japan. Just wait until he gets more experience under his belt in the MLB
I owe an apology to Yamamoto for doubting him for this game 🙏

Huge respect for both Yamamoto and Darvish. 👏
this is the outing he really needed to really start his career. dude will be worth the money we pay him

Darvish pitched well too. His teammates failed him.
yes, stellar pitching performance from Yu as well. Unfortunately his team didn't back him up
He pitched great game 2 as well
13.2 total innings pitched and only gave up 6 hits and 3 runs, Padres can't blame Darvish for losing this game
He pitched one inning too long in game 5. He made a mistake by pitching a fat hanging ball for Teoscar Hernandez to hit a home run.
@@Airwolf515 yeah, but aside from those two homers he barely sent anyone on base.

The REDEMPTION of Yamamoto against the Padres!!!!!

The big difference is Ohtani has proven himself in MLB, while Yamamoto has not.
Happy for Yamamoto...great job.
Nice job done,YAMAMOTO!💗
Just imagine once he’s truly recovered and healed up. We haven’t seen anything yet
How can they let him pitch so hard? He looks really uncomfortable with his shoulder.
I hope this outing teaches many of the Dodgers fans that doubted him and were asking to not use him as a starter again against the Padres. Baseball is about context and well thought analysis, is not a good take to let overreaction dominate
