At the park where I work, we have a drone show during the regular season. We have an actual rule that they are NOT allowed to go directly above any guest pathways or any of the rides for this exact reason.
In the video you see multiple layers above each other and drones being very close. If one gets a problem the rotors take out several other drones. The drone element at Universal has drones further apart and the images they created lean a bit backwards so a drone falling down will probably not hit another drone.
The drone wasn't falling. It was flying very fast into the crowd. Local media reports the child has undergone open heart surgery from the impact to his chest.
It was a little windy that night and they probably should have canceled it. Even Universal didn't have the drones during Cinesational that night because it was too windy to operate the drones so the show just ran without them. Does it take away from the show, yes but it's better than losing drones which not only costs them money, but more importantly could harm someone or something. So it could be a combination of a software issue along with weather. I hate when stuff like this happens because it makes people not wanna go or see these types of shows. Companies like Disney and Universal I think will go above and beyond to make sure it's safe to operate or they just won't operate them as much as it may disappoint guests. There's a very large portion of the back of stage area of USF that is blocked off to even TM's during Cinesational in case things like this happen.
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?

Ya I always thought this was a common rule for drones in general but apparently not

True and from what others have said it was windy that night so one strong breeze and they can hit into each other causing all sorts of issues.

He just showed the video. Imagine what 5 or 10 pounds feels like from a couple hundred feet up.

They should but with this Disney shows that they didn't.
We do drone shows and our company has a strict policy against injuring or killing spectators.
Probably a good policy there

That's going to probably be a pretty big lawsuit.
Very much so
Am I not surprised? Yes oh my God yes, because with too many drones in one area you're going to have buffering and winds you can't predict.
Agreed and I was surprised how close the drones were to the crowd as soon as the video started
its a flying brick
You're not wrong
Horrible situation for the child but hear me out... free Disney Annual Passes forever...
This was a city of Orlando event so wasn't associated with Disney or Universal
@capthemagic Ah - Thought this was at Downtown Disney or whatever the new name is
Easy lawsuit
I’m sure lawyers are already calling them
