YAHboiiZY the longer the better but minimum an hour
DeJesus Custom Footwear thank you so much and last question🤣thank u for your patience. Should I get the kind of finisher that u apply with brush or spray on? Which do you prefer?
YAHboiiZY liquid kickz matte finisher from ig
Hey what's the most efficient way to paint hard rubber materials such as shoe soles? I've been trying different methods from sanding to using acetone, was wondering if theres a better way?
Nadav Perez nope all of those surfaces are unpaintable unfortunately
I want to Custom shoes but I'm scared that I might messed it up 😞
where do you sell them
I’m actually thinking about doing this
I've used Angelus finisher to finish off my shoes but it doesnt seem to be working out well? The paint has been running off easily. I'm certain I prepped the shoe and painted properly so I'm not sure what went wrong? Awesome video btw!
Chibi Kiwi what I’ve discovered after all these years is it is never the finishers fault imo. So that means I’m always gunna take a look back at the prep and paint methods to see how those are done..
I have been painting on canvas shoes but I’m getting more requests for leather and synthetic leather shoes. I’m struggling with the synthetic leather shoes. What do you recommend to prepare the shoes so that the paint doesn’t peel off?
Check out our video called custom Air Force 1!
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear ok, thank you so much!!
Question : Even if I’m not good at drawing, could I still customize shoes ?
Sure can. I think you can view it as a non athletic person asking if they can join a sport.. they sure can it just may be end up being more work to get going but that doesn’t meant with time and effort they can’t become great
What if you can't afford Angelus? Or the right materials and the only material you have access to is from the craft store?
Check out last weeks video we take a deep dive into that topic! You definitly want to start with the right products.
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear okay thank you.

@@DeJesusCustomFootwearso i Will try to get some Ángelus paints. Thank you!

@@DeJesusCustomFootwear Thanks I just wanted to hear it from you that's what I was thinking 🙌
Hey guys, I'm just starting my custom designs business and I'm interested in legal perspective of the job? What are do's and don't's for this kind of business in doing art on specific shoe design such as Nike or Vans and also doing a design of big brand such as Disney or Marvel? Thank you for this great inspirational content! 🤗
I bought a sander and got home. This thing doesn’t even come with a battery or any pads. Smh I’m kinda mad but it’s all good. DCF, what pads would u recommend for prepping the shoes?
They don’t make pads for fine grit sandpaper, so you need cut triangles out of larger sheets and stick em to the sander
DeJesus Custom Footwear DeJesus Custom Footwear ok, now it makes sense why I couldn’t find anything online. R they supposed to be stuck on their through the Velcro, or is it another method to get them to stick?? Thanks man for the reply 🙏🏽
1988 we just make a little tape ball and press em down
Is the uni posca paint markers or acrylic leather paint better please reply
Leather paint x1000
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear really...okay thanks I guess I'll buy the leather paint
I'm going to start doing this... I don't have many of my own pairs I can practice on.. So what I'm gonna do is go to Walmart and buy those cheap 5-10 canvas white slip ons and practice with those.. Just thought I'd share my idea with any new comers 👍
Great stuff!
Fernando Ramirez they got 5 dollar slip ons?
@@brs6316 yup just got some earlier today
Fernando Ramirez whats your supplies equipments?
Question! I’ve seen people scrape the shoes before they paint them. Meaning they’ll use sandpaper on the shoe as prep what does that do? Is it okay if I don’t do it?
Nope you gotta do it if you want em to last! It’s the most important step
But do I acetone then scrape ? Or do I scrape then acetone? I’m sorry 🥺
Garyvee is literally the biggest inspiration to me
Gary is daaaaaaa man!
Do you mix the colors with water ?
No water will break down the strength of the paint
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear wow !! Thanks for the quick response , actually I'm about to start my customising shoes business, and I'm located in Egypt , so I'm not sure if I'm going to find Angelus colors and duller ,,, etc ....so I'm trying to find the best replacement , thanks for your videos they were just amazingly helpful , thanks for the effort and your designs are amazing just as you are ♥️
Thanks i needed the advice good vid👍👍 and also i live in ireland and im not sure where to start selling shoes because i dont have Facebook so if there are any other websites you recommend then ill give them a try
My matte finish turned into a white haze... on some red af1.. I used krylon matte finish.. any suggestions??
Sounds like you probably applied too much or didn’t clear the nozzle before spraying unfortunately.. when this has happened to me I’ve never been able to just clean it off and ultimately have had to strip the paint
DeJesus Custom Footwear okay thanks! Thankfully I just did a dripping Nike check and the haze look appeared mostly on the natural leather.. which was already red.. so stripping the finish and reapplying I should be fine?
Yeah exactly!
DeJesus Custom Footwear okay thanks man! Appreciate the videos! Helps a lot!
You say choose a mentor
I choose u ♥️♥️♥️
Do you do everything in order on an agenda or how do you deal with so many customers getting at you all at once ?
I tend to tell everyone their wait time is much longer than expected so then I can work on projects in order of which they excite me, and mandatory new projects on tight deadlines always pop up
Mind checking out my first customs

I’m just into Customize shoe. How do you charge them. Like do you need upfront or no. And since I’m under 18 I don’t have paypal or Venmo none like that. Any tips?
Upfront is the best option for you , and gives you the most protection.. however it can potentially turn some customers away who may prefer payment after completion or some type of half up front half when done deal.. I would get all the payment apps set up through your parents in the case
DeJesus Custom Footwear I do have a paypal account but they freeze my account
what finisher do i use
When I use angelus do I need to use finisher and the prep stuff. And what is the prep stuff called
Sure do, and acetone
DeJesus Custom Footwear what about the leather preparer and deglazed that’s comes with an angelus starter kit? I was 90% sure that that had some acetone on it or it worked the same way but just want to confirm
bob james it works, acetones just stronger
DeJesus Custom Footwear oh thanks so should I just apply more coats of that than I would of acetone?
Hi :) thanks for the helpfull video!
I am more of a pen person when it comes to drawing and i found, by looking on the internet, that there are pens suitibule for fabric too. I was looking at the brand chameleon. I was wondering if you have come across this brand or other good brands as i would love to work with a good product, as you also sugested in your video.
Would love to hear if anyone els here has used pens and not paint for customizing shoes.
Thank u :)
Quick question I’m new to this and really want to customize my shoes can a shoe protector spray work as a finisher?
Yup a krylon matte spray works great
Thanks so much bro. You have no idea how much this helps
me: *watches this video after failing to do shoe art*
step 1: practice on old shoes
me: *looks at the new pair of shoes I ruined because I painted on it*
....
...whoops
paint over it with color and start again or just chill with it. You can do it!
I can use oil paint?
No it wouldn’t be recommend since oil paint wouldn’t be flexible
Watch colour is used
