Reporter Larry Doyle is rewarded for his role in the capture of the Pardoni gang, but then loses his job on a frame-up to keep him from testifying. He goes to a neighboring city, meets Ann and, before he gets another reporting job, has to pawn his engraved revolver with a fence in league with the gangsters also part of Pardoni's mob. I love. The old movies there so awsome when theres romance ,comedy drama wow the actors the beautiful actresses were the best wish they keep coming love them all

It seems like this would have been a good "springboard" for a series of movies. Yeah, today the plot would be tame, but 80 years ago it wasn't too bad of movie.

This is a remake of the 1935 film "The Mystery Man" which starred Robert Armstrong as Larry Doyle. In my opinion the 1935 version is the better one. It's available on TH-cam.

I only clicked here because the link said :"From Headquarters. The word "Man" was not in the title. The actual film "From Headquarters (1933) is a murder mystery remade as the film "When Were You Born" (1938) that is here on youtube. I wanted to compare them but all I find are short clips of "From Headquarters" false leads like this one.
