Yes same w me! Your brave crawling through the small spaces! Great Adventure, thanks for taking us along! 🤯 You blew my mind w the whole chef story! I knew about the boot, n Kentucky w chicken, n thought the same about the chef hat. Now, you fit all those pieces together, had me laughing 🤯🤣🎉🍻
The reason why people are not supposed to touch cave walls is because it stops the growth of stalactites and stalagmites. Of course when you’re crawling you can’t help it. Great video! A friendly reminder, when going into caves is good to disinfect the shoes including the soles as many cavers have inadvertently brought fatal diseases to bats that have killed entire colonies, I have seen in previous videos you’re very careful with your shoes thus this advice is just in general. Thanks for sharing all that beauty.
Your videos are the shiz. Me and my bf love watching yours more than any other "vanlifer". We also live in a van haha totally hope I run into you one day. I'll fangirl haha
Welcome to Iowa Maddie. My home state. Those caves bring back memories of a visit when I was a kid. That beer looked like a good choice as well. Thanks for the “chefs nose” illustrations, new to me, and of course now I can’t unsee it, heheheh. Safe travels and thanks for sharing all your adventures. Be well, Stephen
Ok be honest, was there times you were a bit nervous going into those small tight areas in those caves but felt the need to do it for the video? Haha 😂 I made a lava tube cave video a little while back and I can honestly say once I got way back into the cave and the reality hit that I was alone in such a creepy place it freaked me out a bit 😱. Great video btw 🤙
I lived in my VW van for ten plus years before van life was a thing. During those noisy nights when traveling I put white noise on from my phone or iPad, or a battery fan, popped in some soft foam earplugs and donned a hat to help keep them plugs from falling out. Helped so much. Love your videos Maddie. Cheers! ;)
Hey, you were in my neck of the woods! That noisy I-80 rest stop you were at towards the end of the vid is like 10 miles from where I grew up, if I’m recognizing that sign correctly. Did you end up going through Omaha? That’s where I live! (Until July, at least, and then I’m going to live in my van down by the river 😁)
Does anyone know of or have a map for the wye cave at Maquoketa caves because I went earlier today and got to a spot that I basically have to trust slide down a spot but don't know if it leads anywhere I'm planning on bringing a few buddies and a rope and I'm going to tie it to me and basically slide down and if I get stuck they will pull me up but I map would make this a little more of a bulletproof plan lol
Hi Maddie. I enjoyed your video. Who knew Iowa had caves! Good for you for talking to a therapist.Mental health is important. Nomad life can be stressful at times..I know! We all could use a "Tune-up" at times:).
I am claustrophobic and my heart was really pounding when you started crawling into those small, dark holes. 😳 Very brave.

Thanks Maddie, good video. Some times it sucks no matter where you are.
Very true, good thought to remember!

Kept having to pause the video because of panicking!

In the first cave, I didn’t like stepping down into the darkness, but that was the only time! I don’t know why but I’ve never been claustrophobic
Hi Maddie, very cool caves, thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for another adventure!
My pleasure! 💚🤘
@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces I didn’t realize that the park is under four hours from our house. I’ll try to check it out when I go west in August.
Your chef geography lesson was great! Your charm was on max level towards the end of this video. So fun 😊

Nice!! I would love to have that kind of lifestyle, living in a van before #vanlife
Been away because I needed a break from youtube video's. I must say that chef thing you did with the States is brilliant. Never seen that in my life.
That was actually from a meme! I wish I could take credit!
@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces I can still give you credit for introducing it to me.
Glad you got yourself back on track! That cave exploring was amazing. We usually
use our fans for white noise. Glad you are back on the road!
Nice adventure. Doesn't seem like you're claustrophobic.
Not at all! Never been bothered by claustrophobia for some reason
Great scenery and who would have known caves in Iowa! Enjoying the content, thanks for sharing
Thank you!! And thanks for watching!
Oh yeah no truck stops and camping are not enjoyable here. But we do have some cool caves and the hiking isn't too bad.
Those caves r really cool!
Yeah!! I thought so too!
that's awesome about the chef :) I never realized that.
I saw it in a meme a while back! And my life has never been the same!
Lol yes our wells are so cold😂
So glad you enjoyed my home state❤ Iowa is a cool place to grow up.
Another lovely adventure with ya Maddie. Thanks!
Wow what an awesome adventure and I love your sense of humor Maddie...
Thanks so much!!
You were less than ten minutes from me!
I know of all the caves over there in Indiana actually over there by Clifty Falls, but I did not know there were caves in Iowa!!!
I always pictured Iowa as corn fields. Thanks for sharing!
7:13 getting claustrophobic
That was great seeing the larger caves you could walk through. The balancing rock was awesome!
Good to see you back on the road, Maddie! That large cave looked amazing!
It was really cool!
