  • It seems impossible that it would take BMW this long to bring a big 3-row to market but this is definitely one of those instances where good things come to those who wait. This is the first-ever X7 and it’s packing everything BMW has to offer.

    The problem for BMW is what happens when Mercedes releases their redesigned GLS after this?

    • @siseesan3147

      Yeah the new GLS is basically a bigger GLE it has a new technology for example , there is a feature anytime you go to a car wash the vehicle will fold the mirrors and close all the windows do it won’t get wet . And there the well known AMG models , the current GLS63 AMG makes 577hp so the new version should be very similar or possibly over that amount .

    Asides the extremely opulent Rolls Royce Cullinan. I still think the Bentley Bentayga, Range Rover LWB Autobiography and Cadillac Escalade (in its highest trim) have the most opulent second row seats in the Full Sized Luxury SUV category.
    I'm sorry, but the tester vehicle's second row seat looks like something that could be had in some mainstream minivans. I feel BMW could offer a more befitting second row compartment to help justify the upgrade from the already excellent X5.

    I'm surprised you're actually in favour of the dual-screen set-up in other cars. Most reviewers find them a distraction while on the move, dangerous because they require you take your eyes off the road for longer to look down and see what you're pressing, and annoying because of all the grubby fingerprints.

    • @stevehammes
      @stevehammes  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're right; I've never been a dual-screen proponent. But having just experienced the new Audi MMI setup and the improved Land Rover setup I'm starting to change my mind, simply because there's just so much info to access on one screen. A fluid opinion, however...

      We are selling our GLS which just had $20k of warranty work done after just 4 years for an X7 we ordered. Owned 6 BMWs in our family in 7 years and never had anything major fail. Mercedes deserves reputation of never wanting to own outside of warranty. No data supports your claim about MB reliability better than BMW. Quite the opposite if you actually do some research. You may like MB more and to each his own, however making up stats is dumb.

      @sunilk_89 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adamp6666 yes! Like I said my claim was based on my personal experience and many anecdotal accounts from people and the pop culture perception of BMW. Of course, MB is not the best at reliability. Any car with fancy and complicated tech involved, where MB is an undisputed industry pioneer in leading groundbreaking innovations is more prone to problems eventually. Infact, my worst experience with a car was with a brand new 2004 W220 S500 4matic , which broke so often to the point where we thought we got a lemon and made my dad to swore to never buy a Mercedes again. Still, even if you go by the JD power and Consumer Reports reviews throughout the past decade, BMW is criticized, more often than not for it's reliability. I don't mean to say that BMW is fucked beyond despair. I like BMW, I really do. Take my comment above as something from an over enthusiastic, AMG fan boy. Cheers!
