I’m a grandma who learned to crochet as a young child. Your videos are clear and quite well done I would very much appreciate written instructions. The designs are lovely.
You did the most learning friendly, nonspeaking, tutorial I've ever seen. You're speed was perfect, you showed the stitch and how many, and it made it really something i am trying. I love it. Thank you for the beautiful and sweet design. ❤
I have been crocheting for over 30 yes. Never seen a granny square like this. I make a square from your direction and was so easy-going now my family wants to made them a blanket like the one I just learned how to make. This is so easy and beautiful takes no time at all. Thank you. You are favorite channel.
I love the simple and easy ness of understanding what you were doing without even speaking. I am so wanting to try this that I'm wanting to put down my other Project and start this. Can you please tell me what yarn you used and the colors?
I'm 74 & have crocheted most of my life. But ONLY ever done simple work. As a visual your hands make this so clear. Thank you, I always wanted to be able to do a puff stitch.
Plans on paper are Greek to me. I so appreciate you showing us how it's done by going through all of the stitches and plan. I have been looking for this in a way that I could learn it and it's perfect! Thank you very much!
Beautiful square. I have been crocheting and knitting for over twenty years now and you just taught me something new! That was how to knot and weave in the ends. You also join rounds a bit different as well and I’m going to try that too! Thanks for sharing your talent! ❤
I love seeing how many men are learning this ancient art. I'm thankful I learned it as a young girl. The creative powers behind knowing a craft such as this is unstoppable.
I am a man who has just recently restarted this craft after a hiatus of about 40 years. The craft beats squeezing a tennis ball in both hands to keep away the arthritis. I enjoyed this video. After playing the video several times l think l understand the directions. I am left-handed. And my work looks slightly different but very similar. Thank you all for sharing...
@@jamesclaire115 There are left handed tutorials for crochet patterns here on YT though not many but there are a few, good ones too. You should check them out, it will be clearer for you. I personally can't follow a left handed crocheter tutorials as everything is done differently. I can't imagine a new learner trying to pick up new crochet or knitting skills when everything is mirrored.
Thats beautiful! Would make a stunning baby blanket! I love your work...my grandmother taught me to crochet more than 50 years ago - every time I pick up a hook I think of her 💜
I’ve been crocheting for more than 50 years and this granny square is just the most beautiful I’ve seen. The colors are gorgeous. Now I just need someone to have a baby girl in the family or friends to make it for!!! 😊😮
Beautiful!! The last Granny square I did was a Christmas one about 30 years or more, this has me wanting to make another one.. My daughter got me a bag to carry my Crocheting and yarn and needles in, might be time for new yarn!!🙂
Trying to teach myself crochet. This is the first time I have watched a video and thought "I could do that!" Thank you so, so much. Can't say it enough!
So many color combos can represent certain celebrations in life! Halloween colors, Easter colors, spring colors, summer colors, autumn, winter, etc. The Wedding colors is a wonderful idea.
Your tutorials are the best I’ve seen over all the years that TH-cam has had crochet videos. You are just slow/fast enough to make it easy. You are very very clear as to what to do next etc. Awesome video!!!!
There is only one stitch to crochet, it depends how many times you wind the yarn around the hook to develop other stitches. If you can chain , you can crochet.
Wow! Awesome! Normally I get lost and confused a few minutes into a video. You made this look like even I could attempt it! Thank you! You are amazing!
I love it. I'm going to try it this weekend. Thank you for showing how to weave in the ends. I find that many crocheters don't know how to do this, especially beginners.
I have this same pattern in my 99 granny square pattern book. This one, moon, and star are nightly popular. This one I have also turned into the sunflower pattern. People love it.
Thank you very much for showing the beautiful and easy making granny square. I will start making a blanket with this pattern. You did a very good job, by showing it. ❤
So well explained. Lovely and easy square. Looks far more complicated than it is. Will definitely have a go at making a blanket using the pattern. Thank you.
Ann Holt, you can always start again. Before I learned how to crochet well, I had always wanted to learn bc as a child I watched my grandmother crochet and I was so amazed at how she worked her hands with a hook and thread and made such beautiful art. She taught me how to do a chain but that was as far as it went. As an adult with very small children, I had a friend who tried to teach me but my first project was all wonky, uneven rows etc. At that time I really just didn't have the time to learn something else new. I had a lot of other hobbies I did. Later when my children were teens I bought a book to learn how, a few hooks and some yarn to get started. After I got the hang of it I was on to scarves, hats, blankets, baby sweaters, slippers and more. I am in my 60's now and I love crocheting for other people, I can't think of one project I've made for myself. But after the holidays I intend to get started on a beautiful blanket for myself I have been admiring for a long time. Just get yourself a skein of yarn and a hook and get started. You won't be sorry. 😀
I have noticed that there are two major things we do alike..one, either use a Boye or Susan Bates Crochet Hook and "burying your tails as you go." I love that you do that. I have always wondered why people weren't using this technique because you don't have to go back and bury them after you get done with a project. The pattern is beautiful and I also noted you have great tension. I can almost bet that you don't need to "block" due to your great control of tension. I love how you also take time to slow down so different levels of crocheters can see how to do stitches. Great crocheting and you are a great crocheter! When I first started trying to make squares from circles I kind of got overwhelmed until I read how to do it...I try to make sure when I teach people how to crochet is if you can learn the different stitches and the acronyms for the stitches; you can crochet almost anything! But i can also learn new things because I believe no one, no matter how long they have been crocheting (I've been crocheting since I was in the 4th grade; so 10 years old and I am now 60!) can always learn something new. I remember when I was younger this lady at my church was a master at crocheting and she would let me call her no matter how late at night or how early in the morning when I would get stuck on a certain pattern. She was always calm and had patience with me. You are doing a great service to not only the youngsters, but us older crocheters that can still learn new tricks. God bless you!
✍Hello... This granny square is beautiful. I don't care for the original granny square but this is gorgeous. I might try my hand at making a lap blanket using this pattern. Bye from Ohio USA 🇺🇸
Thankyou for sharing your work with us!!!will be trying this out soon!! But with longer ends so that I can secure them so that it doesn’t come undone after a while but thank you again I just love this pattern!!👏👏👏🥰

I don’t know if I commented already but I just want to thank you for this video …. I have actually almost crocheted my first granny square that actually looks like a granny square 🥴. I have had to take it apart a couple of times due to not having the right number of stitches but I could pause the video, count what I should have and what I actually have and find exactly where I went wrong … I can’t wait to pick up my crochet hook again …. Thank you!
