Fun and informative video Albert, and nice to see your wife involved in this episode. 21.5 hours?! Wow! That’s impressive.

Aloha Chris, Yes, I'm lucky to have Heather on my stringing team! I can't imagine how I used to do these tournaments without her. The 21.5 hours was continuous stringing with some breaks to eat meals. When you're in that kind of situation, you have to do what it takes to get the job done. Sleeping for 1.5 hours, then stringing the next 18 hours straight was pretty rough. Good thing it slowed down and I could finally get some rest after that!

Do all players bring their strings to the tournament? Also, do you as a stringer need to carry your stringing machine to the tournaments?

      Aloha Javier,
Yes, it's standard that these professionals will bring their own strings. There have been occasions where a player may run out of strings, so having some extra string on hand is always good.
Also, I sometimes will have volunteers that may ask to have their racquets strung, which is ideal during the downtime. This is optional of course, but it's a good way to promote your business and make a little extra income.
In my case, I always bring my own stringing machine, tools, and supplies when doing these types of tournaments. If you're hired by a stringing team at larger events, they will typically provide the machines.
