If you think praying to god to stop drinking works then go into the closet when you're hungry and pray for food. If a hot dog comes slidin thru the keyhole then i will believe prayer works. You have to stop drinking on your own and never drink again.- Leo. This man is at every meeting i go to where i live and he is a true inspiration.
Creme Jockey yes but it’s through gods power that the DESIRE to drink is removed. Are you saying Leo goes to AA meetings but doesn’t work the steps? Kind of sounds like he still had a desire to drink. I don’t think I’d get very far with a sponsor like that.
Ed Dawg he literally says he still has the urge to drink in every one of his shares or speeches that he repeats over and over at every meeting. He is a great man don’t get me wrong. But we all still have the urge to drink and that’s why we go to aa lol. He’s just saying you need to rely on yourself and not just pray it away as most of the cult like “found god” people in aa act is possible. To think god knows your name and life situation or cares about u more than another person cuz u quit doing something that ruined your life is delusional and narcissistic beyond belief.

I can totally relate with the thing that he said with that he should have been taken from the maternity ward to an AA meeting. I am from a country where also Alcohol gallops right through. Since i was a kid from the environment i grew up in i cant remember anybody who did not drink. From young to old back in the day. They even made their own moonshine or home brew. Thankfully things have changed over the decades and the kids and young adults of today does not have this to grow up with.
