Not very many people pay attention to these things, but I thought the animation and choreography in this fight was the best in the series.
***** This is a game, there's an unspoken assumption that the player will be able to see what's happening. For some reason, there's no such assumption in a movie.
People often don't appreciate these things. The play it without realizing the complications of it. It was an intense fight and I can tell that they got people who actually know how to fight for the movement capture.

True, and the battle against Ra's, was amazing, still though, I loved the battle against Slade, whether it was recycled animation or not.
***** I totally get what you're saying and that the fight choreography in DKR should've been better and as badass as this. The only reason why it would've been difficult to pull off was the fact that Bane and Batman are fighting in the streets along with an army of Bane's men plus the GCPD.

The martial art in that fight was beautiful; the counters, defenses, offenses were just beautiful. Batman's flow was perfect. There should be a Television series with this same Batman. The market would succeed heavily.

Honestly, I think it worked. They're both much older, much more tired. They're at the end of their careers, they're not as strong and young as they were here, Bruce is less than a few hours away from literally committing 'suicide'. Would I have liked to see more outside-Batmobile boss fights in Knight? Yeah.But I feel like from a story perspective - if not a gameplay perspective - both this and the Arkham Knight fight (where Batman tries desperately to do everything he can to just disarm the Knight, because *he cannot bring himself to hurt Jason*) 'worked'.

@@JeffLionheart i get what you mean but that part about Bruce not wanting to hurt Jason is kinda inaccurate. Bruce has never hesitated to fight Jason even if he is holding back he'll still take him down if he needs to. His first outing as the red hood is a prime example and even after the new 52 and rebirth they've bumped heads a couple times as well. So what I'm saying is Bruce wants to help Jason he cares for Jason but as he told him recently " I've never hated you Jason doesn't mean i don't think you deserve to get your ass kicked every now and then but at the end of the day i know we've got each other's backs" didn't say all this to tell you off but I'm saying that's why a lot of people were expecting a different outcome than what we got because when batman and red hood( or Arkham Knight in this case) fight it can be pretty epic and fun to watch or read so it would've been nice to play something more like that rather then the tank battles we got and while you say deathstroke and bats are older and tired both could spend their days fighting and just find a way to keep going. So i do get what you mean but it didn't work story wise either they just dropped the ball on this one imo.

That's what I love about this game, the different thugs they put in. The martial artist(which should of been in Arkham Knight), venom thugs, regular thugs, swordsman, , and big tall thugs. That's what made this fun an different.

The best part about this fight was how no goons showed up in the middle. Sure, it brings a challenge, but it makes it more stressful that way. Instead of focusing on Deathstroke and 10 goons, it’s just you and him.
That's one thing that makes this better than many boss fights in the series. It feels like the only thing making them challenging is the addition of goons. It does feel challenging but it was very nice to get simple hand to hand fight one on one

Hands down, this was not just the best boss fight of the game, but the best of the whole Arkham series.
I take it back. Deathstroke is the best fight in Arkham Origins and second best boss fight in my opinion in the Arkham series after Mister Freeze. Once you understand how the fight works it becomes incredibly fun. I got through this fight on New Game Plus without getting hit.
i think this fight is definitely the best in the series. the freeze fight is quite monotonous in my opinion, but i do like your deathstroke DLC idea
Jacob Szymanski I think the Deathstroke fight is more repetitive than the Freeze fight to be honest. The reason I think Freeze fight is such an exceptional addition to the Arkham series was because it was used as the basis for all the boss fights in Arkham Origins and every single boss fight in Origins was fun to play. They really should DLC pack for Deathstroke; he really deserves his own mini-story because he is such a blast to play as on the combat and predator maps. He was seriously underused in the Arkham Origins main story.

Jacob Szymanski I was happy with Bane being the main assassin because I really liked this interpretation of Bane. He is a genius and deadly fighter, just like the one from the comics. But Deathstroke wound up being an advertised extra; he was shown way too much in the trailers and tv spots. Hour into the game and he is out. Still Arkham Origins is my favourite. I liked just as much the last two if not more; truly worthy sequel.
John Doe Bane begin the main assassin and second antagonist of the game is fine because this is really the first time the games have got him but what with Dark Knight Rises portraying Bane the way they did new people coming into the Arkham series will look at Bane and see a big hulking brute as opposed to a genius strategist and they will immediately start questioning things.
It was disappointing that Deathstroke didn't have as big of a role in the game and if he wasn't advertised prior I think it would be pretty safe to say he came out of fucking nowhere.
Also here's a lesson for everybody who is into the series: If a character gets hyped up a great deal before the game is released don't expect a big role from them
What I like about deathstrokes boss fight is how realistic it is (as realistic as dc gets). It looked like actual combat between the these two with the attacking and counterattacking, and slade didn’t need any thugs to help him like other boss fights. Batman vs deathstroke is a really awesome battle
I wish we got a challenge map in which we could play this fight again. Honestly, this type of fight is what we should've been given between bman and Jason in Knight. It would have really hammered home how much the knight knew about Batman.

@@UtdNabeel7that was cool fight, it's not a shounen fist fight but not everything has to be for that to be cool. And a tank battle makes sense given the new mechanics the game is doing why repeat and rinse the same thing again and again.

Dude, isn't that what you do the entire game when fighting?
No.At this point of the game you can use up to 3 quickfire gadgets,have a larger variety of attacks like the beatdown and more special combo moves depending on what you upgrade.
You actually can do the special combo moves on deathstroke, and if you're good pull off a beatdown. I also found the explosive gel pretty useful for my no-hit run.

The coreography here is pure gold, especially the sword part.
Out of all the bosses in the game, this is definitely my favorite.
Even after you figure out how to beat him, it's still challenging as you have to get the combos right. Plus, the music and atmosphere really do add to it.
*Do not smash your buttons!
When he is going to attack, counter him of course, then give him 3 to 4 hits then STOP. When a cinematic scene is going to appear, wait for the "counter" option in the screen.
If you do it right you can beat him without taking any damage.
You can also use the batclaw. Double tap the batclaw to make it easier.

My problem is I still cant find that sure-fire time to hit him after the counter-attack. I manage to get hit even when i try to time it. I dont button-mash or anything. I just wish they elaborated on the "perfect time" to hit him in videos.
I got Arkham Origins almost 3 months ago. Deathstroke kicked my ass first time I fought him.

So...hit him so that he'll counter you to give you a chance to counter him and so he'll counter you for you to counter him then hit him and then hit him after you finally hit him. haha

The problem with rocksteady is that they believe that there is no enemy in Batman's rogues gallery that can give him a proper fight as equals. I guess that's why Rocksteady's arkham has so few satisfying boss fights and battles.
And Warner Bros respected that capability which is why Arkham Origins had that awesome boss fight with Deathstroke. RockSteady feels otherwise and thus we have Deathstroke's dismal performance in Arkham Knight.

Those boss fights were improved, fun and lengthy.

All of which were either predator where the villain was just a mook with maybe a tad more health or boss fights with the repeating patterns of a megaman or metroid monster boss fight. The only two boss fights which broke the mold were Mr Freeze in Arkham City with him adapting to your strategies and deathstroke in Orgins where it becomes a visual spectacle of blades and punches. It speaks volumes about a boss fight when I am willing to buy the game just to play the boss fight again and again. Out of all the boss fights from origins and city, only two really stand out as fun and challenging, and both of these bosses were acknowledged in game and out as being more than a match for Batman on any given day.
True. Arkham Origins had other great boss fights besides Deathstroke. Bane, Killer Croc, Deadshot, Copperhead, Shiva, and Firefly. But Electrocutioner was the worst. Out of all the bosses in all the Arkham Games Mr. Freeze and Death stroke are my favorites.
Electrocutioner was hilarious, and it was also the worst yes. Shiva is close, wasted opportunity. Deadshot was third worst. The rest were awesome.
this fight is better than ANY boss battle in Arkham Knight......all they put in knight is stupid ass tank battles. would have been epic to fight death stroke in knight with the power of the ps4 pushing the graphics. ....Instead we get a damn tank battle to go along with the other hundred tank battles in knight. Rock steady disappointed me with arkham knight. origins had the best boss battles in the series.

A lot, I think what the persons original comment is that they shouldn’t have compensated using the batmobile for a villain like Deathstroke who could’ve had an actual badass fight like he did in Origins.

It's not that hard to beat him on easy/normal, but beating him without getting hit is another story. Beating him on new _game plus_ without getting hit is *ANOTHER* story.

The Muffin Mann i don't know how but i just managed that... after a few tries :D but once you figure his pattern out or if you use a lot of batlcaw slams so you just have to counter at the mini cutscenes when there is slow motion its not that hard
What makes this fight the best in my opinion throughout the Arkham Series is when Batman and Slade begin countering each other. It is so unique, so fluid, and is just a treat to watch these two fighters just duke it out. I honestly like this fight more than the fight between Batman and Ra’s in Arkham City.
This may be because I haven’t seen a really good fight between Ra’s and Bats, but I stand by my opinion: best fight in the Arkham Series, hands down. But I am open to being proven wrong if anyone knows of another video with Bats fighting someone else. Until someone proves me wrong, I stick by my opinion.

This was my favorite boss battle. It was intense and was fun too. Rocksteady was lazy when they had Deathstroke return in arkham knight. This game is definitely better then Batman Arkham Knight.

Wouldn't it be great If they release a DLC story mission at some point this or next year where you get to be Deathstroke throughout the story and the final boss fight is Batman. This time you get to play as Deathstroke and fight Batman and Deathstroke wins.

For everyone struggling with him: There is ONE thing about this fight that really helped me to realize.
Always WAIT for him to attack first and then land a few hits (when he puts out his sword only like 2 or 3). If you don't do this he gonna start a counter attack you CAN'T counter (as far as I noticed). Really, I died so many times because I thought I would be able to counter this combo-attack (he does the same thing with the staff, too but not that painful). If you just wait for him and land a few hits in his "down-phase" it's really easy - even when he fights with the sword!
At 2:41 batman gets grabbed by deathsroke and the fight..begins!!

I just replayed this game after like 9 years with no hints on and it was incredibly satisfying once I picked out the timing for each of his counters to my counters. This is just an awesome boss fight.
This game really gave Deathstroke the shaft. Don't get me wrong Batman is my favorite fictional character, but Deathstroke does not go down as easily as he did in this game. Also playable Deathstroke is extremely neutered.

For a man like Deathstroke who can move really fast, is very strong (equally as strong as Batman) and can HEAL like WOLVERINE, it's amazing how him of all people would say to Batman "What are you!?" and Batman is a NORMAL GUY, yeah years of training and strategic planning and gadgets and such but it almost speaks volumes for a man with POWERS to say a man with no POWERS "What are you!?".

Deathstroke is ( or was ) in army and he also was test subject for some medical things and that made him Stronger , Faster , Smarter but it aslo made him crazy so they kicked him out of the army and he becamed mercenary. Batman was rich boy who seen how killer killed his parents. When he was adult he was training with assasins master and Shiva. He was trained in all martial art skills and then he became Batman the Dark Knight with special gadgets. So thats that.

Best boss fight in the game, cuz Deathstroke can give Batman a fight for his money... others were alright but repetitive & obvious. Also on a side note he looks so similar to old Solid Snake, it's strange but cool lol.
