Quite fascinating survey of the area and its history, as well as the actual collision. The film along the old line shows some lovely scenery, in a part of America this Limey's never heard of before. Thank you.

The M & St L went thru my area west of Hayfield Ia. Before the tracks were removed, we rode a car on those tracks. Great video, thank you.

One video could be made just about Stillwater Mn. The first trolley line came, operated and went bankrupt and was removed only for a 2nd trolley line returning about 5 or so years later which connected to the Twin Cities trolley system. The last trolley of that system left Stillwater August 1932.
What was last The Zephyr line was built into Stillwater in the fall of 1870 right behind where I live. Then two more RR lines were built into Stillwater from the south end in the 1880’s. There was a book about the railroad history of Stillwater published around 1990 by a Mr Thilgen. I’ve been looking for a copy for years. The Stillwater library has one but you can’t take it home. The Minnesota History Museum also has a copy.

The old railroad bridge over Highway 101 was concrete and steel and the road underneath the bridge was quite narrow.

Both of my grandfathers worked for the M&StL. I didn’t have any idea about this wreck.

Let's not forget that a lot of kids under 18 worked the Railroad tracks.

Great vid! Question have any vids or info pictures of the train tracks from Little Princess station at Minnehaha Falls south Minneapolis heading south through the limestone cut out now where the dog park is heading to Fort Snelling and then pictures of what the bridge looked like crossing the Minnesota River from Fort Snelling??? I believe I have found some footings for the bridge in Snelling state park at the base of Fort Snelling. Any info be great. Thank you.

Il aurait été judicieux de sous titrer la vidéo en français 🤔

No, this is an English speaking channel. You can suck it up, and deal with the English language, or go watch something else. No one gives a crap about your language.

And the crash happened, how???? Amazingly, you did'nt explain the fishing or what birds were flying.....geez, what a boring explanation of a train collision!

Gotta agree there, more of a lesson in cartography and animations than anything to do with a train crash. Shows just how much effort doesn't go into the uploaders videos. Maybe next video covering something about railways, we'll hear about new species of sharks discovered in the south Pacific. Absolutely dreadful video 👎👎👎👎👎

It's not a boring video at all if you don't have the attention span of a fish.
