At first I thought they were deer!🦌 After seeing all of the cats & donkeys getting fed, they figured all they had to do was show up😂 I think that little Pancake is adorable! & I thought Amanda was going to say his middle name was Syrup!❤
My husband of 43 years suddenly passed away this New Year's day. It has been harder than I ever imagined but watching your channel is such a nice, fun & peaceful escape. I am now a 63 year old widow in Texas and have always dreamed of going to France & other places over seas. Thru dna testing I recently found out that I am 40% western European and 40% Scottish. The hope of one day visiting those places keeps me motivated. I have been going back & binge watching all your videos. Giving each one a thumbs up. Hope in my small way that helps you guys !❤
I’m so sorry for your loss. Go live your dream of traveling. Europe is amazing and actually easy to travel around. If you’re nervous about traveling alone look for a tour. You can learn lots of tricks and tips to go back and explore on your own.
My heart hurts for you! Prayers that you can get through your grief. We are about the same age. Just the thought of losing my husband makes me so sad. He will always be with you. I have found Amanda and Lincoln to be so therapeutic as well. My husband and I are the caregivers for my mama who has Alzheimer’s and FTD. We love to escape to You Tube adventures and dream of someday going back to Europe. We have never been to France or the British Isles! My husband is a big percentage Welsh! I am 1/8th French! Two places we really want to visit. Praying for you! Welcome to this wonderful channel. ❤🙏🏻💔🙏🏻😢🙏🏻
Pancake isn’t aware yet that he just won The French Lottery for kitties. He’s simply an adorable kitty. Just love how these precious babies follow your darling girls home 💕💕💕💕 And the names…..OMG, adorable. Like many of your admirers, we make room, for just one more 💘💘💘💘💘💘
Amanda and Lincoln I have full trust in you both. You’re both adults! You know what you’re doing. Wish people would get a clue. All my kitties are all fixed thumbs up to you for fixing your kitties and any strays that come around. I wish more people would think more of their animals long-term health.❤ thank you
You always make me smile with your sense of humor- the nudist colony remark made me LOL😁 I knew Pancake would join the kitty coterie - you are an animal-loving, kind family with your ❤in the right place! Blessings to you all- your vlogs are a joy!!
I probably watch every chateau vlog online but by far, yours is my favorite. Your property is so perfect with the walled garden, beautiful outbuildings, lovely chateau, allée, those darling donkeys, dogs and funny cats. Every fall I have to trim hedges equal to the length of yours only I have to cut one side over my fence along an alley and the other side from a steep hill. How I haven’t cut off my head in the past 40 years here is a miracle. A big THANK YOU for taking us along to the recycling center because I have been very curious about it. I must say I was shocked that France would allow a highway pizza dispenser. 🤣 I loved the trip to buy new tools. I was the only woman in a short stint in a building trades class 35 years ago and I always kept MY tools separate from my late husband’s because the poor man simply could not put anything back where it belonged! A couple years after he passed away, I decided to try out his cordless drill as all mine are corded and require two outdoor extension cords to reach the fence. Of course, his drill manual was no where to be found but in a 1” stack of Amazon purchase printouts my son came across in an old bureau, I discovered that his drill was a combo that included a circular saw! After four years, I still have not found that saw nor did he ever use a saw of any kind the 47 years we were together. ❓ He never stops surprising me. By the way, I bought a cordless impact driver a couple years ago to put screws into our old wood fence yet I could not even get a screw to attach a 1/2” board to a cross arm. After watching Lincoln, I need to check my brand. In 2018, my son and family who lived in Germany, took me on a surprise trip to Brittany for my birthday. Every time you go to the English Channel or St. Malo, it brings back so many happy memories of that trip.
The most important thing is you are trying to communicate in French, the French like that! Welcome kitty #6? Your caring people, these homeless little creatures need someone to love them.🇨🇦❤️
not only french its everywhere if i move to usa speaking only french or some no english language i gonna have some problems staying for a long time in america
Whenever I see choppy, grey, wind blown seas like that in videos of Europe or England I can’t help but think of all those stories of ships landing on coastlines for battles or ferrying royal brides across or people sneaking from one country to another in medieval times etc. So much history in these unassuming beaches and sand dunes! It’s amazing. You’re so lucky to be living amongst all those stories and that rich history! (I know all our countries are rich in history, but personally I studied European and English history so I love it in particular!).
Ce que vous décrivez me fait penser à la chanson "To France" de Mike Oldfield (cela concerne la reine Mary Stuart / Mary Queen of Scots). What you describe reminds me of Mike Oldfield's song "To France" (it's about Mary Stuart / Mary Queen of Scots).
Amanda ❤️❤️❤️your sense of humor. You and Lincoln are a refreshing team of Chateau vLogers. ❤️Following your journey. Pizza out of a vending machine? I would starve first. My husband sleeps through every storm to. It’s a guy thing.
Thank you for rescuing! 💖We may not be able to save them all, but it means everything to the ones we do. I so wish people would take responsibility for their actions. Spay/neuter, microchip, and for Pete's Sake Train Your Dogs! 🤦♀ I've fostered and rescued for over 40 years. I've volunteered to train dogs, including deaf and special needs, for over 30 years so people and their pets have a loving, fun, and long relationship. They need so little, really (less than a cable TV subscription!) and give back so much to us.
Just loved and 😂😂😂 at the part when you said that Lincoln was yelled at the disposal yard and his quick witted answer: oh yeah, mostly for the stuff You packed!😂😂😂
"So stop sending us messages " hahaha. That caught me off guard and made me Crack up laughing. Many people think they are 'experts' on what others ought to do instead 🤔 🤣
Pancake found his loving home. He at least found "comfort". Love how Lincoln takes everything with such stride. Even someone saying he was too old. Probably some pubescent childlike person. The hubby, mine at 72, still chops all our wood. Lincoln seems in great shape too and I am sure he is so much younger. I am 68 so my idea of old changes with time. Loved my binging today. Keep em' coming!
Amanda, you're funny. I have to say, watching your series has given me more motivation to do stuff around my house. Painting is on the agenda right now. I don't get how you do a room so quickly. I'm doing one wall at a time, as I'm inspired to do it. :D Maybe I'll get it all done in a year. :P Amazing people are in the water this time of year. Nice to see the ocean. I have to say, of course, you know word has traveled wide among the felines in the area. They know exactly where to go...
I can’t help but hear the Tim Allen Grunt in my head when looking at tools. So fun to get new tools that actually make the job easier/ faster. You go guys!
When I moved to Paris 20 years ago, stores were still closed on Sundays. But Leroy Merlin was open in the suburbs. My American friend and I pronounced it Lee Roy Merlynn which drove locals nuts.
The trip to the dump helped resolve a long running curiosity about what you do with all the debris. Thank you for that! Also, the struggles with French at the Leroy Merlin made me feel much better about my (and my partner's) struggles with French in France over the past couple years. So thank you for that too! Any time we can make it thru an entire day without a French person dropping into English to speak to us is an occasion to celebrate.
I Knew you were gonna keep that beautiful kitty. You try to be tough but you are a softie😅. I keep telling my adult son, who takes care of colony of feral cats, that he spoils them all. It has been so bitter cold here and even tho he has made shelters for all of them he worried about them. I came out last week to find 6 of them on my enclosed porch wrapped up in all my closet blankets! He made blanket forts for them! I was so annoyed I told him he could only do this till the spring. 😊. He leaves the door slightly open so they come and go and rotate thru the whole colony. Thankfully he and a cat group in the area had them all fixed last year so no kittens.
We have 3 indoor cats (all from shelters) and recently welcomed a stray. He is FIV positive so he has to reside in the garage with a heated house and heated water bowl. He gets lots of attention and gets to go out to roam during the day, We had him neutered and chipped. Since he is FIV positive it was even more important to have him neutered so he doesn’t infect any other cats. So glad you kept Pancake, he is adorable.
I really don’t know why some of us hear storms and others don’t ….ahem but my sister and I have had this discussion and although we have theory’s there’s nothing conclusive. Loved the tool shopping adventure. Very relatable. I laughed out loud with the tool pick up and the code / English speaker situation. We live an hour from the Atlantic and close to LI sound. I can see why you would detour to the beach there is nothing like the sea air and the sea. I hope you can be in your walled garden more this season. I love dahlias , and cosmos . A patch of white cupcake cosmos … lovely. There are some really beautiful zinnias out there also. Do you like snapdragons? Again thank you for the kindness and care you have for all living creatures. So glad you kept Pancake… great name.
oh my..love your agony and joy!! we restored an a 1923 Spanish stucco in CA we thought we had work. Ha love the journey with you but at 80 only have memories as we sit at watch your progress...take courage, its all worth it in the end
I just found your channel recently and watched a few, as I wanted to see bits of France. I am now hooked and have to admit I kinda binge! You are a crack up, I love your humor and your style. So I am living through you as you are doing what I have a passion for plus so much more. I love that you rescue animals, and your donkeys are so sweet. I do know that you put so much hard work in what you are doing, there seems to be so much to do, but I love your attitude. I enjoy your filming and how good you are in the editing and the music is perfect and I love the drone shots! You seem to be a natural and it seems you really like that part also. Thanks again for letting us share your renovations and life, it's very entertaining and I have learned many things that I didn't know. Many blessings.
Sorting for the dump is a bit better than paying for it…we took down an huge old sandstone fireplace and chimney and the first weigh in at the dump would have been $1300.00..we found a recycle place that only charged us $300.00 but it was a half hour drive.
For our region, we pay by weight, you drive onto a scale entering and exiting, they charge the weight difference. Metal and electronics are separate bins. There is another area for yard waste that is free, grass clippings, leaves, branches etc. They have a separate area that is free to dispose of ‘hazardous waste’, batteries, LED bulbs, paint solvents, motor oil etc. 🇨🇦
My fave vlog. Love the 2 a week! Thank you. Amanda in one video you claimed you were not comfortable in front of the camera, I beg to differ you are a natural comedian! Lincoln is your perfect straight person.
Pancake is a hilarious name! Goes with Waffle...now there needs to be a Bacon and Eggo...my brother has a Biscuit and another cat named Gravy...both were barn finds..
Bonjour, great job on the old shower. My late husband and I did the ceiling thing! well it was half the house and we found that pulling it all down and then I had to separate the wood lathes and plaster into piles and then we loaded it and took it down to the tip, but yes we kept it all in bags indoors as when it is wet it weighs so heavy. I remember those days we were covered in plaster and dirt head to toe but we just laughed it is a horrible job and now I look up at the new ceiling and laugh. People will always say something but in reality it a different story, I would be in element buying power tools good choice, you did make me scare me when you put the screws in as you seem to be at an strange angle but you did it. Wonderful idea for the fresh flowers. Thank you again for a great video.
You guys are doing a awesome job! Watching from the US, in Mo. I have barely been outta the state. Our life has been full of reclaim & restore everything imaginable. Just the way it had to be limited budget & Hubby & I are both resourceful at talents of seeing beyond the things most ppl. throw away. Love watching you both! ❤
The cutting flower beds will be so beautiful! Please remember Zinnias!! They are my new favorite flower I grew last year, so many bright colors. Also there is a variety of marigolds that grow 4-5 feet and bloom forever plus will give your veggies protection. A small trellis in the corner of morning glories would be so lovely with each day of new blooms!
You crack me up, more than crackin’ eggs for breakfast! OMG! Comfy at the Nudist Colony and that “Word”…PIVOT! PIVOT! PIVOT!” Every time you say that word, I giggle and hear Ross shouting “PIVOT”, and Chandler yelling back…”SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!” Great hilarious moment on Friends!🤣😭🤍 I’m so happy you added Tools to your collection, but I must say you have Awesome Friends & Neighbors! It’s wonderful! Everyone stepping up and helping each other. Your Property, the Rustic Buildings, Gardens & Fields, and can’t leave out the Sky Above are soo picturesque. Our tour with you to the Atlantic Coast from France was serene. I felt as tho Coco Chanel was there with us! The filming was amazing as usual and thank you for keeping Tigger🐈Pancake! Sooo Adorbs xo Thank you for Sharing & standing up for Yourselves!!! BRAVO!🎉 🤍🇫🇷 ps…I just love you two and this fantasyland you purchased! I wish I was Tink, and could flutter around, spy all these places, and sprinkle pixie dust to remove unwanted trees for you!🤍
You are too funny!! Nudist colony.....😆 Love the kitten you took in. A great name...Pancake. We need more people like you to care about the welfare of animals. Maybe someday it will be the law to have dogs & cats neutered/spayed under certain circumstances. The donkeys look comfortable laying in the field. I thought it was funny when I heard you talking about speaking French when communicating numbers for certain things. I'm still learning French, and when it came time to learn about how to pronounce their numbers (long numbers, over 1,000), it was hard for me to understand that you don't pronounce the numbers one at a time, like you thought. But Lincoln did a great job. Yes, I heard that the French like it if you at least attempt to speak it, but a good majority of them know English. You're doing a good job with the cottage. The shower base came apart better than we thought. Hopefully it will rain less and give you more time to get more work done. Great idea for flower garden.
The right tools make a huge renovation like yours much easier and now that you’re going to make a designated workshop in one of the buildings you can be super organized. Pancake is a cutie!! As you know, in America you can have a huge dumpster dropped off at your house for a length of time and anything and everything can be put into it. Nothing has to be separated. When it’s full they come and take it away. From there who knows if someone separates everything or it just all goes into the landfill. It’s way easier than the way France does it, but not good for the environment. We just keep filling up landfills and that’s not good. Stay safe on ladders and scaffolding. xx
I so love when your video pops up. WOW all those DeWalt tools my eyes lit up; I can see why Lincoln wanted an impact driver - my neighbour loaned me his in the summer when he saw me struggle in the garden with fitting sleepers - so I quickly went out and bought my own DeWalt, it was on offer and at Christmas reduced again - always worth keeping a check when the stores have reductions. Thanks for sharing your home and progress - now to wait another week as all caught up - doh
You bring me such joy! I am getting ready for work. It is 6:00 AM here in Boise, Idaho and I am beginning my day with the magic of your life in France! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I recently discovered your channel! I am binge watching ever since. Loving your humour, love for animals and your way of vlogging! Thank you for sharing!
My experience in the French dechetterie is the same as yours. We had a man chase us back to our residence and we had to return to rectify our error!! My friend (who owned the house where we stayed) was horrified that her name would be tarnished in the small village! We also lived right next door to the Mayor! Whoops!
@@OurFrenchChateau yes! They had printed photographs of our misdemeanour and Registration plate of the vehicle (which located us). Our French was pretty non existent so we used Google translate. It was quite comical. My co-defendant put on a contrite face. But we had to go back, tail between legs and remove the offending article placed in the wrong receptacle. This happened near Limoges, in a very rural village. The article was an antique pram found in the attic of their farmhouse they were renovating.
@@Gadgetmumma Je trouve très cruel de la part du personnel de la déchetterie de vous avoir traités de cette manière. Dans quel monde vivons nous ? ça me fâche ! 😡
Love your content. After doing a DIY on an old Victorian we quickly learned that the Sawsall (reciprocating saw) was our best friend and turning the blade around gives you way more cutting power because you can use some leverage. Another tip we learned was adding a pry-bar to our jacks or which will give you better ease of turning. Keep going. You’ve got this. You’re doing great 🥰
I’ve been through what you are going through.. It’s so much fun to see you in your adventure while I sip on my tea. Just kidding it never ends but you know that. Great show and beautiful house. I’m further north than you but the trials and tribulations seem to be the same 🥂👍👍
So lovely you have kept the new kitty he is so handsome - pls dont plant lilies in your cutting garden tho they can be fatal for cats ! Ive got a half finished garden and would love to add a cutting garden - thanks for sharing ❤
Love the shot of the donkeys. Cast them in bronze, and they could be the "lions" guarding the chateau entrance! My brother gave me an impact driver for Christmas about 5 years ago, just saying, "You need this." (He's not known for his verbosity.) He was so right! A go-to tool. If you don't yet have a finish nailer (part of the Dewalt cordless suite) they are a game changer. Obviously I use it for trim work but also for tacking things in place when I need a third hand, building jigs and other useful tasks.
Hi from Florida😊 Oh you kept Pancake, I knew it & I am so glad! He is gorgeous! An herb garden just outside the kitchen will be perfect. That is our plan in a couple months, beautiful planters poolside with lots of beautiful herbs! Love watching you two❤
Seperating rubbish is pretty much the norm in Europe, and while we used to take things down "the tip" and not sort them when I was a kid, we take them to the recycling centre now. We find asking the employees which container things need to go in means they respect that we're trying to sort things correctly. My husband hates the recycling centre, as we've had too many punctures from dropped nails, to count! Apart from the recycling centre for the bigger stuff, we have collections for 7 different types of household waste - metal and glass, food packaging and plastic, food waste, cardboard and paper, hazardous waste (batteries and chemicals etc), textiles. Some places also gave garden waste and big waste (sofas, fridges etc that are collected from peoples homes), we have to take a trip to the recycling for these last two.
I look forward to each video you put out. The 20- to 30-minute length (with two a week that you are considering doing) is great because it leaves me wishing there was more and looking forward to the next one to see what you're up to. I enjoy your amusing slice of life you let us have a peek at.
Love your opening remarks and your sense of humor is greatly appreciated and I’m sure comes in handy countless times every day. Especially when breaking or shall I say attempting to break up concrete shower pans. Love your channel … from PA, USA.
Thanks!
Thank you so much!!
“Our home will never be comfortable” 😂😂😂 Thanks for the laugh!
I guess it will be nudest retreat😅
just another time where you have to pause the video because you're laughing so hard! 😆

Lol same
I love getting 2 vlogs a week and I love that you took the new kitty into your home. Thanks you.

I agree with your logic about putting the debris through the floor, not matter what it's a job, but you to select what works for you.
You make Mondays better. ❤
Wow! Lincoln, the superhero! You handled that shower base in short order. Thank you for the video. 🎉❤🎉❤😊
In our town of aubusson, we have 24/7 pizza vending machine store front one block from the Chateau. It comes in handy as a last resort.
Love your new kitty 😻😻😻😻😻Bless you for saving him 🤩😍😘
Pancake! I love him!😍 What a lucky guy to have stumbled across your family. The cat distribution system has your name and number for sure. 😅
You are both such animal lovers. It’s wonderful to see those happy and contented critters. Great videos, thanks!
Your editing floats my boat.
oh my..love your agony and joy!! we restored an a 1923 Spanish stucco in CA we thought we had work. Ha love the journey with you but at 80 only have memories as we sit at watch your progress...take courage, its all worth it in the end
I laughed out loud at your opening statement. So funny.
Happy you found us :)
Sorting for the dump is a bit better than paying for it…we took down an huge old sandstone fireplace and chimney and the first weigh in at the dump would have been $1300.00..we found a recycle place that only charged us $300.00 but it was a half hour drive.
Wow! We don't pay anything
Beautiful chateau owned by beautiful people making beautiful videos thanks for everything 😊
My fave vlog. Love the 2 a week! Thank you. Amanda in one video you claimed you were not comfortable in front of the camera, I beg to differ you are a natural comedian! Lincoln is your perfect straight person.
Oh blimey I missed this last week - love 💕 your videos - the chateau is coming along, take care - looking forward to springtime 🌹 🌸 x
Stay safe on ladders and scaffolding. xx
In Delaware we have a system very much like France. We do have to pay to dump but totally worth it.
Yay. for Pancake!! hope he doesn't mind nudists! 😁🤣
😂
I so love when your video pops up. WOW all those DeWalt tools my eyes lit up; I can see why Lincoln wanted an impact driver - my neighbour loaned me his in the summer when he saw me struggle in the garden with fitting sleepers - so I quickly went out and bought my own DeWalt, it was on offer and at Christmas reduced again - always worth keeping a check when the stores have reductions. Thanks for sharing your home and progress - now to wait another week as all caught up - doh
Sooo happy you kept Pancake! I love ginger kitties 🥰 Also Lincoln will love his impact driver..I got one a few years ago and use it for everything!
You bring me such joy! I am getting ready for work. It is 6:00 AM here in Boise, Idaho and I am beginning my day with the magic of your life in France! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
No surprise Pancake now a fixture!
I recently discovered your channel! I am binge watching ever since. Loving your humour, love for animals and your way of vlogging! Thank you for sharing!
Welcome!!
It was like seeing Lincoln in a sweetshop
Jste skvělí moc držím palce přeji štěstí a mnoho sil. Oba vás zdravím z ČR
👋
My experience in the French dechetterie is the same as yours. We had a man chase us back to our residence and we had to return to rectify our error!! My friend (who owned the house where we stayed) was horrified that her name would be tarnished in the small village! We also lived right next door to the Mayor! Whoops!
😂 This made me LOL! Chased you home?

You’re doing great 🥰
Another cat has won the lottery🎉!
I love seeing Americans do this! It's fun, and it feels real. Not just showing the good bits! Such hard work, best of luck to you both.
I’ve been through what you are going through.. It’s so much fun to see you in your adventure while I sip on my tea. Just kidding it never ends but you know that. Great show and beautiful house. I’m further north than you but the trials and tribulations seem to be the same 🥂👍👍
Thank you for sharing. Love and Blessings to you all.
❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏 Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
Great video on your everyday shopping more please ❤
I think the response is unanimous... yay Pancake :)
So lovely you have kept the new kitty he is so handsome - pls dont plant lilies in your cutting garden tho they can be fatal for cats !
Ive got a half finished garden and would love to add a cutting garden - thanks for sharing ❤
It will get better. Focus on your new dream. I’m doing the same…sending you love and light! Keep watching this delightful couple😊❤️
Lincoln, you’re Superman!
You do cheer me up, I’ve had poopy stressy day 😊
I had a feeling that Pancake wasn't going anywhere...
New tools!!! Who knew we would reach the stage in our lives that this would be exciting!!! Crack on
best to you
Hi from Florida😊 Oh you kept Pancake, I knew it & I am so glad! He is gorgeous! An herb garden just outside the kitchen will be perfect. That is our plan in a couple months, beautiful planters poolside with lots of beautiful herbs! Love watching you two❤
Welcome, little Pancake! Orange kitties are the sweetest things.
My granddaughters cats are named, you guessed it, Pancakes, Waffle and syrup.
Oh wow! We have a Maple Syrup too :)
Welcome sweet little Pancake! He’s beautiful 😻
PANCAKE! You struck gold, little one. Sois sage et restes prudent ❤
Pancake has a home!! WaHoo!!! Thank you!! One more off the streets. 🧡🧡🧡
I see a lot of other chateaux using that old lathe for kindling for your fires. Just an idea.
We often do, have so much of it!
That tub was really built. Love the animals and Pancake. As I have said, you are my weekly giggle.
I look forward to each video you put out. The 20- to 30-minute length (with two a week that you are considering doing) is great because it leaves me wishing there was more and looking forward to the next one to see what you're up to. I enjoy your amusing slice of life you let us have a peek at.
Hope all is well! Getting late in the US and missed you two. Hope there are NO accidents or critters crisis.
Love your opening remarks and your sense of humor is greatly appreciated and I’m sure comes in handy countless times every day. Especially when breaking or shall I say attempting to break up concrete shower pans. Love your channel … from PA, USA.
Really nice change of pace. Found myself taking a deep relaxation breath while you were at the coast😊
