Way cool video! All the East Grays I have seen have fleas. They use the nest once, then leave and build a new one. After the squirrels leave so do the fleas. The squirrels come back to a flea free residence in move in condition. Squirrels are my favorite critters because they are all smarter than the average congressman.
This is awesome - i feed walnuts and hazelnuts to the squirrels that come to my backyard and i always wondered what squirrels did in their nests, especially when they go back to their nests at about 4:30pm in the winter because it gets dark so early. I thought they'd have nothing to do but sleep since they didn't have squirrel-newspapers or tvs! Now i just need to figure out whether they go to the bathroom in their nests or wait till they go outside!
Ants were a problem because we put corn in there to attract them. Learned the hard way to not do that. We’ve since cleaned it out and haven’t seen ants since! Thanks for watching, Meowoofius!
We’re the insects biting the squirrel keeping her awake? Should I make my squirrel house with cedar boards? I’m enjoying your channel so much. Thank you.
Is that lightning I hear during the video? Sounds like a crackling noise of some kind. Also, what kind of insects are we seeing towards the end of the video?
yeah, the thunder sounds so weird when it's in fast forward mode. And those are just a few ants. Not anything too worrisome. Not sure how you'd avoid any bugs when it's attached to the tree.
@@mybackyardfriends7326 I'm glad she doesn't have fleas or ticks or something dangerous. Also, thanks very much for posting these videos. It's very relaxing to watch them. I'm sure there's lots of boring stuff you're filtering out - you're doing a great job!
Are you able to turn the light off so she can sleep in the dark? It seemed that the light was keeping her awake. Love watching this, very interesting to see what they do and how they live, thanks for sharing.

Cool video, the squirrel took a while to fix its teeth , I wonder if your camera needs power source? Would you mind giving a link of it please?

Not really, they only live around 10-11 months. It's a dangerous world out there for a squirrel.

That’s the reason why she couldn’t sleep poor little squirrel surrounded by ants
