Hmm, maybe they were human test subjects, encased in tubes like the Tyrant. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing some smashed ones down in the lab. Maybe they are from that? Let me say aswell, this one is really great, like Fate and Horizon, an instant favourite. Im definitely liking the atmosphere and vibe you're going for with these new songs!
I always thought that the naked zombies in the early Resident Evil games were the many unfortunate test subjects of the T-Virus trials that Umbrella would have brought in from the outside to run in their test labs. The game often talks about these "live" specimens in the various medical journals & documents saying that they would be brought in one way or another, most I am assuming against their own will, for Umbrella's sick & twisted ways. The ones who ultimately failed testing or contracted it by inevitable zombie attacks were left to wander around the empty halls of the labs oblivious to their new found lives sadly granted to them after death. Most if not all of these subjects never survived the tests and would become zombies. When the infection reached "outbreak" levels in the labs the raging virus quickly spread like wildfire throughout the surrounding labs & areas. Poor Raccoon City being one of them come September of 1998. They never stood a chance especially when so much of the town was bought off & controlled by Umbrella. Those early games were truly something special. The new games are great too. But. A classic is & always will be a classic. I love these questions in the videos. It's great talking with you all about our own thoughts, feelings, and theories. 😌
That's such a sweet melody. Not only am I getting CV vibes but Revelations 2 as well. When I made this picture, I was trying to figure out what was going on inside Claire's head after she's left the hospital. I believe she must've been blaming herself for trusting Neil which ultimately led her best friend to lose her life. This also must've lead to severe Rockfort Island flashbacks and all that.. I like to think that this was the exact moment she decided to change; to pull herself together and live on for all those people who cared about her, them being Steve and Moira. And that is why she's cut her hair on the next day, a small, symbolic step towards a new life. You might also remember that one Chris picture which came from either RE:DS or RE3. It was an ending screen, I believe. Very melancholic and thoughtful. A moment for Chris to reconsider things and to decide if if throwing away his life is worth pursuing the truth. This is exactly what I based this render on. But that's just my r̶a̶m̶b̶l̶i̶n̶g̶ vision. So yeah, this song is definitely one of my favorites now!
Thanks for sharing some back story on the "production process" of this picture! I had the feeling there was something deeper going on and it's once again that ever-sweet vibe, somewhere between regret and new hope. And to start anew, which is very fitting for Spring time :) You know what? That picture of Chris you mention, if it's the same one, classic RE1 ranking screen, your work made me think immediately of that one! I've used it for an older song, it's called "Evil Never Sleeps".
It's funny that you also had a strong "Code: Veronica" & "Revelations 2" vibe coming from this tune. Both games being personal favorites & absolutely underrated in the series in general as both are fantastic games. I absolutely felt the same way. The fact that the song's picture had such an atmospheric picture of Miss Redfield for it connected it all the more for me. You did a fantastic job on this picture by the way, I love the coloring, and emotions that I get from looking at it while the song is playing. I'm a huge fan of Resident Evil Revelations 2, my channel's name is actually inspired by both Resident Evil & more specifically Revelations 2's Results Screen song of the same name, that being "Distant Memories" of course. What an absolutely amazing & atmospheric track it is too. Your picture and this song hit me hard much like that song from Revelations 2 did/does when I heard/hear it. Just wanted to say hi and to say thanks for making such a cool picture. Keep up the great work. Christopher "Redfield96" Distant Memories 1996
Ah, that's so nice. I'm no good with words so I usually leave my works with no commentary so people can interpret them any way they like. And yep, it is that picture indeed! I always loved the urban, sunset-ish vibe it has. It's so cool that my render actually mentioned you of it though. That is exactly what I was aiming for.
Same here. I'm a huge fan of Code Veronica and it is my second favorite game in the series (the first one being RE2). I have lots of great memories with it and the fact that I used to play it with my older brother only makes it whole more nostalgic. Revelations 2 also takes a special spot in my heart. I love the way it portrays Claire, showing us that she didn't actually change all that much and she's still the same badass redhead we all love. I also feel like the game itself did her a lot of justice, because only after the events of Sushestvovanie Island she was able to truly move on with her life. And I'm happy to know that you liked my render! @New Resident Evil Save Room Music did a great job with the song (as always) and my picture wouldn't have as big emotional impact without it. It's like both the song and the picture just fit each other perfectly. Also, not to be a creep but I stumbled upon your instagram some time ago. You've got truly an amazing RE collection! So yup, thanks for your kind words. They mean a lot!
I was listening to these tracks kinda randomly and recognized your art (from seeing it on Twitter awhile back) in the "up next" row. A pleasant surprise with some pleasant music. :) I love all the thought that went into the picture.
This is incredible, makes my stomach do backflips. I love the melancholy sad/hopeful vibe and use it often in my own music. It reminds me of spiritual experiences and Carbon Based Lifeform, actually even better to my own ears. It's actually motivating me to repair myself, makes me wonder what the hell i've been doing to myself for so long. Thanks. 10/10.
