Coming from a single mother 2 kids at the time, and met a man, older man, older than the baby daddy... he took on the role of father... he took my son to games, barber shop, school shopping, trips the whole shabang! My baby daddy did that one time with my boyfriend then husband, now widow as that man is now gone... He set the tone to me, let me know, you see him, you let him know, I will send him to his maker if he come to me in that set tone... I sir, had to set the boundaries and stick to it... as I wanted to be with him... not my baby daddy... long story short... if the mother is " double dipping " it will be a sense of entitlement to the baby daddy, if she is straight forward, set the tone, stick to it and let it be known... there's no open doors here... they will back off... he is not here to replace you unless you want to be replaced... so he did not see them for a month... when he called again, he called with respect, he asked when can we make a schedule for them to be with him, it was then professional... but I do agree with you also, Mr. CJ, this is new times, and different generation... got to be more careful... peace and blessings...

Before I got married and had my son I didn't date men with children either because I didn't have any. However, we have to leave room for reality and the inevitable. I agree that things can get problematic if you are childfree, and you choose to get involved with a single parent. You need to vet them, just as you would vet a potential mate. The bio Dad was WAY out of pocket, though. Though we don't know all of the details of this case, I heard the child's Mother say that he is behind on child support, and either hadn't paid it and/or seen his son in 2 years!! If the child support payments are so small , why wasn't he paying them ?? His ego was more bruised that she had moved on and the Stepdad was stepping up where he didn't! His priorities are effed up! This is the problem of male ego when a woman is forced to do all of the heavy lifting, then gets shamed and scorned for bad choices of a neglectful father. But men sometimes wear a mask to get you on the hook, then act a fool once you're pregnant or you've had their baby. Ciara and Russell Wilson are a prime example of this, dealing with Future's deadbeat dad ways. But I don't fault her for choosing the wrong man to have a child with so much as Future being a Deadbeat Dad. Like you said, he's selfish in spreading his seeds and having multiple kids with multiple women. Sadly, this type of tension and beefing is very prevalent in the Black community. People have died for nothing. And so is a lack of self control and proper family planning. But Ciara learned. She chose better and never looked back. They have a beautiful marriage and family now. But yes, it can get ugly for the childfree partner, whether they are male or female. And it would be a sacrifice when you're used to doing what you want on a whim and then having a child in the mix.
