I enjoyed mac and cheese all during my childhood, but during my last year of college I bought a 24-pack of Wegman's mac and cheese. I went through 1/3 of it and became tired of mac n cheese for life. 25 years later I went to a gastro-pub and ordered a $12 mac n cheese appetizer. It had aged gouda, black truffles and smoked Black Forrest bacon bits. I could never eat the cheap stuff like Kraft unless we go into a civil war again.
As a middle Tennessee-er, I’ve been eating this everytime I go for YEARS. I’m glad the rest of the country gets to try it out now! Some days it’s better than others, but it’s always solid.

As an Italian I cringe at the thought that people don't salt the water. Also PLEASE: wait for the water to boil,salt It and THEN add pasta. Never add pasta in cold water and wait for it to warm up.

I recently went to a gourmet italian restaurant with my family. I ordered the only thing I thought my 3 year old and 5 year old kids “might” like... mac and cheese. The waiter brought out a great looking home style and authentic mac and cheese. My kids just flipped out since it was not Kraft blue box mac and cheese. This is life....

For the record, they also don't make their Mac & Cheese in house. Their Mac and Cheese comes from Park 100 Foods and it comes straight out of a bag. Goes into a tin pan and it gets topped with around 7.5 ounces of a Colby Jack and Mild Cheddar shredded cheese mix on top.
I think one of the most important parts of mac n cheese evaluation, which most places mess up, is if it is grainy. Using regular cheddar cheese leads to grainy mac. So was it grainy?

For the record, they also don't make their Mac & Cheese in house. Their Mac and Cheese comes from Park 100 Foods and it comes straight out of a bag. Goes into a tin pan and it gets topped with around 7.5 ounces of a Colby Jack and Mild Cheddar shredded cheese mix on top.

I think one of the most important parts of mac n cheese evaluation, which most places mess up, is if it is grainy. Using regular cheddar cheese leads to grainy mac. So was it grainy?
