Inspection of infrastructure, such as bridges, after an earthquake is wise. Good call on that. 👍

Because that bridge is sketchy at best. I raft that section of river, sometime around 2006 or so they chipped off all the cracked concrete and skim coated it. I think it was built around the Great Depression.

I was still in bed and noticed the shaking. My first thought was that someone had slammed the front door really hard, but the shaking kept going for awhile and reminded me of the earthquake we had a few years ago. Sure enough, my phone beeped and alerted me there had been another one. Before that, I guess I had assumed an earthquake would be more of an up and down type of shaking, but it seems like it's mostly side to side. At least that's how these two have been. It's a very unique sensation.

We felt it all the way down here in Southern Arizona...

I live in Ontario oregon, and I felt it. I was texting relatives asking the same question. Did you feel that? My son said no, because he was on his feet at work walking around. I felt it because I was sitting down, I also live in a mobile home that is not on a concrete pad foundation. So that is probably why I was able to feel it. I'm also very sensitive to earthquakes, after living in three different countries, and being in earthquakes, in each of them.

    Idaho is overdue for a M7.0 or greater. !959 saw a M7.5 and 1983 saw a M7.3...

There is no such thing as an "overdue" earthquake. They just happen.

You have to be really bored to notice a 4.9 earthquake

We get many of these a year and if you are walking around or driving chances are you won’t feel it. We usually feel them down to about a 3 if we are sitting still. A lot of how it is felt is because of type of soil where you are. We had a 7.2 about five years ago centered about 12 miles from our house and 1 picture feel off the wall. Where I worked at the time was about the same distance from it and there was damage to the building I was in and many buildings in that area had severe damage.

Actually Idaho had like over 1,000 quakes last month or something like that. So I wouldn’t be surprised if other parts of the country would too. Not necessarily connected.

Bro, go check out university and seismologist sponsored websites. They all say 4.9. Stop being an idiot.

In the early 80s I was in north Idaho 400 miles away from the quake in Southern Idaho and felt it. Quake lake is in the same area that happened in the early 60s .people died in that one.

Quakes are not common in Idaho unless you count the little ones you can't even feel. I'm shocked we had another big one because we just had one back in 2020. Before that was the one in the 80s

    Idaho?
    Unusual!
    How deep was it?
A 4.9 at shallow depth say 10kms will break windows an small amounts of structural damage.
Stay safe an keep a eye out for more?

You got everything you need if you do! 🙏✝️
“And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He, ’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.” Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But not a hair of your head shall be lost. By your patience possess your souls.”

Do the people in Idaho realize, that the big magma chamber of the yellowstone vulcanized system lies under south west corner of Idaho. All south Idaho from corners Washington ,Oregon, thur Idaho to Yellowstone are all old volcanoes.
