If people are telling you they don’t care about history then they are not proper football fans , so best ignored. I am an Oxford local so really enjoyed that. Although I follow Spurs in the PL I go to Oxford a lot so enjoyed the old pictures which brought back some great memories, but also a particularly scary game against Millwall in Nay 82 when I was 16. All the best - cheers
I'm from Oxford and we do miss the Manor ground. The stadium now is soulless slab of concrete which hasn't been completed in 20 years but there may be a new stadium within the next 5 years we hope. Great channel btw
Great video. Thanks for telling the history of the ground. Keep it up. I went to the Manor many times including the last game against Port Vale. I usually stood in the open Beech Road stand. Best memory was a 5-1 win over Sheffield United in 1984 in the old 2nd division to put us top of the league. Happy days.
I used to be a regular on the Osler Road terrace where you were so close to the pitch you could almost touch the players as the came to take a throw in. Fantastic atmosphere - unlike the soulless new ground.
Loving um, went the manor with Donny rover's in 82 got beat 3 nowt, and again in April 97. Keep making um,I live in western Australia now so they bring back great memories
No need to apologise for the rant the haters will always hate. I share your interest and passion for all the old grounds. You've educated me and present it in an easy to listen to style. Keep doing what you love and 'fuck em'
Saw Rovers there a few times loved the atmos.I remember when they first introduced the back pass rule and our keeper Brian Parkin hadnt quite got to grips with it and picked it up.(did get to grips!) Cant remember the score but was probably drunk as wer most of the massed ranked Gasheads...Great old grounds like the Manor are greatly missed Keep up the good work!UtG ⛽️🏴☠️
Went to the Manor Ground way back in 1978,my team Walsall got beat 3-1.Oxford had a player called Jason Seacole whom at the time I thought would have gone on to better things but I never heard what happened to him.Anyway keep the vids coming they bring back some great memories.. Thanks 👍
Love your videos mate, discovered this channel the other week and subscribed straight away keep up the good work, I think the past is so important to EVERY club on this planet.it's part of their DNA and looking at all the old grounds that are no longer with us brings back some fond memories for all true fans out there.
Love your work, absolutely fantastic. I'm still working my way through your catalogue, but if you could do a video of Fellows Park, Walsall, I'd die a happy man. Sure, it was a modest little ground, but it was my Wembley. Broke my heart when they left.
What are people watching it for if they don't give a toss about the past? It's not as if the titles don't give it away. I suspect it's young people who think their club has never played anywhere else.
I run a rugby league page as well and there was a video made about me where they said "Nobody cares about history or the past" even though my videos on that page out-do theirs so its more of a dig at them because they are bitter about it.
@@historyoffootball87 They obviously cared enough to bother making an anti-video about it. Maybe they were thinking of doing the same thing, but you beat them to it?
@@davidspear9790 It's a bit of a long story but the people who know I do Rugby league page also know I do a Football page. Both pages I talk about the old days, history etc.
There was a house in one of the adjacent streets with a massive fibreglass model of a shark protruding from its roof. Wonder if it's still there? Up The Gas!
I rarely practice reading the script, I just write the notes down and record. If I mess up a section or I am not happy with it I re-record it. It seems to work just fine as some of the videos have been quite popular.
Everything is history, the last game Oxford played, this season, last season, last decade, or a hundred years ago like when this video started talking about the history of the manner. It’s interesting to see all history, looking back from years ago to just a few games ago. If we didn’t do that then all we would focus on is the next game and then as soon as that’s played, the next game and never think about the current season or the progression of any club. It’s definitely important to look at. Great interesting video, where did you get all these photos from? Did you just search up “Manor Ground”? I’m looking for as many measurements and photos as possible because me and my dad are going to build a model of the ground. 👍🟡🔵
Keep this up, I have visited a lot of the old grounds, there are a lot of people like me who enjoy this stroll down memory lane.
Cheers, thank you.

I love the switch in the mood at the end.
I had to watch it back there to see what I said 🤣I don't remember saying this.

I could look into doing that. Most of the videos I do are requested by subscribers.

I didn't see any of that when I saw the Manor Ground video on Oxford United's channel.
It's still there Mr Rovers 😉
