- The Ghaziabad-Sahibabad stretch of the Northern Railways offers some of the rare and never before seen parallel chases between the trains coming from different sections..!! I ,till that day, had the privilege to witness such an intense parallel overtake on this stretch only on youtube through other railfans videos. So i waited for my chance.. my day of glory. They say "If god delays your plans and makes you wait.. he always give you back something special" and quite true to it .. I too finally got to witness one of the most rarest parallel actions i could have ever imagined. This happened when i was onboard the 12033 Kanpur Shatabdi Express bound to Delhi and train which gave our train a very tough competition was the 12056 Dehradun Jan Shatabdi Express..!! It was almost like a reminiscence of the Jurassic World movie where the T-Rex battles with Indominus Rex for supremacy..!! Likewise here the two glorious trains of their routes battle out on a head on competition as they race to showcase their authority.. Even though it was the controller's penultimate decision which decided the victory in this amazing race... but still it was a moment worth relishing and worth sharing with you all..!!

Irrespective of the instructions.. if the signal ahead is green for both the trains and they are running in parallel so for that time being we can definitely term it as a race..!! Ab you are expecting a formula-1 type of racing then you have come to the wrong place..!!

Shatabdi is 2nd most prioritized train after Gatimaan(or Rajdhani) and these 3 are the premium trains then why Shatabdi gave priority to Jan shatabdi which is non-premium train. (Signal case is exceptional here)

The Jan Shatabdi was being loco-ed by the WAP4. More so, the trains that always gets the right of way in India are The Shatabdi and the Rajdhani. Eventually the Jan seva would also merge into the track the Shatabdi was on.

The Down track is on the other side there are total of 4 tracks on the GZB-SBB Route two Up and two Down tracks..!!
Can't say the rest of the two tracks as down as well on SBB-GZB section. All the 4 tracks have signals on both the directions and I personally have witnessed train going in same direction on 3 tracks multiple times.

If WAP1 get greater priority & proper clear signal then even WAP7 have to pickup at it's best to beat WAP1. Because all the WAP series are very aggressive accelerator.
