I love The Balance series. I dont mind the forbiddden aspect, or age gap.I love that sht. Its the heroine whos stressing me out who made me eventually drop it.
I haven't read most of the ones you mentioned but I DID try QB Tyler's book and I couldn't get to chapter one. It wasn't even the premise because I have heard enough about it to know what I was getting into. I was okay with the tropes but I just couldn't with the writing, even in the prologue. I will try another of her's some day but it's not a priority for me right now.
I am meeting Lucia Franco tomorrow and have to finish dismount tonight! I started the series in December after you recommended it but I’ve had to put it down because they get my anxiety up! Lol. But I do love them!
I have been wanting to read Off Balance for years and I read it this year because of you!! I will say that book 1 is my least favorite. Even though I gave it 4 stars I could see how if someone just stopped after Balance they might feel meh about it. But I am so happy I stuck with it!! So so so good! The rest were 5 stars! 🌟

Read it by your recommendations. I just got a co-worker addicted to the Twisted series. Love that series. I really need to read the Cat and Mouse duet. Need to read more Horror Romance books. There needs to be more of them. It's hard to find them.
KV Rose and QB Tyler are both on my thanks, but no thanks list 😏. Just clunky, angsty stories with poor development and all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Cat and Mouse and Balance were both DNF's for me. Cat was just very 💤 and Balance made me feel like I needed several 🚿 to get the ICK off of me. 🤨🎶 Memories 🎶 I have read Penelope Douglas years ago, but I don't do the NA stuff anymore. Ditto for most in the bully romance category. Pam Godwin should give classes on how to write a proper dark romance. Her Deliver series- 🔥 especially Vanquish and Take. Sea of Ruin and Dark Notes were both well done too. Highly recommend Neva Altaj's mafia series too. Ditto for Adelaide Forrest and Danielle Lori(lots of well done age gap and other mafia laden tropes).

My thing with Balance is that I heard bad things that happen to the protagonist and (if I'm not mistaken) they're Kova's fault and it made me not want to keep reading because I can't imagine shipping those two characters after knowing that. (Again, maybe I'm wrong and he's great 😅)

I also love Twisted Hate, Sea of Ruin, and so many other books you love and rec! I think that plays into or amplified my disappointment in Balance, because so many people LOVE it; I felt really let down that it didn’t work for me. 😭
