Fall is my favourite month to read in (I'm always most motivated around this time!) so these types of videos are great! A few of these are on my tbr for the next few months too, and I've definitely got a few more to add now :) x
I love I Am the Messenger, but it is *very* different from The Book Thief. Markus is a phenomenal writer and the story is still moving, but it has a much more Contemporary feel. I still recommend it, but want to make sure you're not expecting The Book Thief style writing. 😁
Fall and winter are my favorite seasons to read in!! Fall-All you need to give me is a good book, a blanket, and hot cocoa and I'm set.❤️Winter- I usually am inside always so it's the perfect time to read.plus, watching the snow fall is so relaxing I love you so much hailey!!!!!
I have so many books to read this Fall/Christmas, but I'm afraid, that there's not enough fall to do so 😦 My fall reading plan (so far...) The Name of the Wind, Lord of the flies, The first 15 lives of Harry August, The Invention of Wings, StarChaser, The adventures of Sherlock Holmes, A gathering of shadows, A conjuring of light, All the crooked Saints, Frozen Tides, Crystal Storm, Scythe, Illuminae, Nevernight, Six of Crows, Revolver, The subtle knife, Dash and Lilys book of dares AND I want to reread Harry Potter 5-7 Some of these are just humungous, I don't know how I will manage to read them all... 😧
Hey Hailey! I am hosting a 24 hour read-a-thon this Saturday Sept 23rd midnight to midnight. If you are interested, you can join me and it might help you to push through those fall books. If you can't join me this weekend, I will be hosting another on Oct 28th!
Fall is my favorite season too! I love the leaves changing colors, Halloween, the cool brisk air, and the seasonal items of everything pumpkin. I wish I could live in autumn all year round, lol. If there was a place like that I wold move there.
I really need to learn to plan my fall tbr AFTER all of my favourite booktubers post their own... but I'm here for it haha, fall is my absolute favourite season especially for reading so gotta make the most of it ! I also feel like it always goes by so quickly !
Ooh Frankenstein is great, enjoy! The spooky classics on my TBR this fall are Dracula by Bram Stoker and The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. I'm super excited! Already started Dracula and I'm loving it. I also really want to get to The Hearts We Sold by Emily Lloyd-Jones, from the August Owlcrate. Halloween reads are the best.
i have a lot of classics, coming of age novels and feminist textbooks to read for my classes this fall but i’m planning on reading harry potter because it always makes me feel ready for autumn
I Am the Messenger is actually one of my favorite books of all time! Markus Zusak is a very underrated contemporary writer, but a great one. My Fall reading list is kind of short so I can be open to impulse pick ups. At the moment I have Queen of the Night, Hag Seed, Norwegian Wood, John Belushi Is Dead, The Secret History, and The Five Daughters of the Moon. Also, I'm currently in the process of rereading the Unwind series, so there's that.
There won't be one up this week unfortunately, but next week there should be one! It was a bit of a stressful week last week since my cat is sick so I didn't have enough footage for one. As long as everything's okay with him there will be one next week.
I cant wait to read this fall. I have just began reading the Gone series, after my current book I will read Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Hopefully I can pick up some more in my library! Xx
We definitely don't get enough fall in Canada... I'm from Quebec and can't agree more for Winter. Even when November isn't so cold, it doesn't feel like Fall anymore.
I've been so busy with school and reading textbooks but I still haven't been able to stop myself from ordering books - I just got The Queen of Blood by Sarah Beth Durst after being recommended it by you actually and then I ordered The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon, One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake (which I am SO EXCITED FOR), and Warcross by Marie Lu. And all this while I've been on a massive Colleen Hoover binge haha. I love your videos Hailey!
Same girl at the end " FALL IS MY FAVOURITE SEASON AND I WANT TO SAVOR IT " me too autumn has already started in montreal and the leaves, colors and everything I AM waiting for the cold to come yet but FALL IS TOO SHORT! 😭🌺🍁☕☕
Hi Hailey :) Falls and Winter are my favourite season ! So happy that it's fall in 2 days 😄 I want to read all the books that you just show us 😍 The book that I really want to get throught is Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon. And I just thought that the name match the season. It's funny I didn't even done it on purpose 😅
Loved this video. I love Autumn, rainy day reading in duvets and hot chocolate. To be honest, I didn't really enjoy Frankenstein as I found it dull but I think you'll really enjoy it.
The Messenger is my very favourite book, even having read The Book Thief (which is obviously a masterpiece in it's own right). It's themes just speak to me on a deeper level than those in his other books. But I wouldn't go into it comparing it to The Book Thief, that would be a disservice I think. The prose is typical, wonderful Zusak, and his understanding of humanity is still incredible, but I wouldn't expect much more of a comparison than that. It's like how you could describe the Underdog trilogy as a series with main characters similar to Max. It causes a tonal shift, but it doesn't really lessen any impact of the stories. They're just different. Matter of fact, I've found that the trilogy and The Messenger were more personally affecting than the Book Thief was, possibly because The Book Thief's main difference is the introduction of it's separate narrator. Anyway. Zusak's writing is like Rudy, he steps on my heart and makes me cry.
It took me sooo long to finally pick up I am the Messenger, because I was scared I wasn't going to love it (because obviously it's impossible to find anything even comparable to the Book Thief, ahhh), BUT! I LOVED IT! And I hope you do too :) As you already said, the two books are very different from each other, but nevertheless I found lessons to take away from both of them.
If you like the idea of retellings of Sherlock Holmes, the "murder most unladylike" series is amazing! It's a middle grade/YA mystery series with lovable characters and addictive mysteries! I love it so much and I'm currently reading the fifth instalment in this amazing series! I know mystery isn't really your thing, but it's super good!! 😊💗💗💗
Walled City was really good, I read it I think last year and ended up giving it 4 stars. And The Dreadful tale of Prosper Redding was super cool, just finished it yesterday and my oh my how awesome it is for Halloween, tho Im tiny bit sad it's a series and not stand alone.
Where is your scarf from?? I love it!! Also I love your videos!! They are literally all I have been watching lately!!! You are definitely my favorite TH-camr at the moment! I love all of your book recommendations! Stay awesome!! :)
Number one on my fall reading list is Tower of Dawn. Then, I'll be starting the Mortal Instruments books... So far behind, but better late than never! Haha!
I've read both Frankenstein and Wuthering Heights, in my personal opinion, Wuthering Heights is so much better. It's actually one of my favorite books, I would definitely recommend it!
I am really exited about The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding too! I would love to hear your thoughts about it after reading. It seems like a fantastic story, I hope the inside is as beautiful as its cover :)))
A Study in Charlotte was great I read it last year! Currently reading The Last of August the second book right now and I read half the book in a night ahha
Omg I always thought I was the only one who felt like fall is the shortest season! I really would like to get to One Dark Throne, Conspiracy of Blood and Smoke, Caraval and the Grisha trilogy/Six of Crows. But I'm also rereading Harry Potter right now so I'm not sure how fast the others are going to happen...
Hello new subscriber !! love your book collection and book shelf 😍 I was wondering if you could suggest a book for does that are not a bigger reader . Thank you for inspiring me to read more haha 😂
One thing you could do is at the end of fall you can reflect on this video and see what you have read and what you haven't... like maybe a reaction video ?
I read Wuthering Heights a couple of months ago and it was so depressing and I didn't really enjoy it xD It's not like I didn't enjoy it because it is depressing I just didn't really like the events or the characters or the way it was told but at the same time I did want to know what happened next? Still, I was soooooo happy I was done with it when I read that last page! Tower of Dawn is really good I think! I have less than 200 pages to go and I don't want it to end! The one book that I really want to read this autumn is the third illustrated Harry Potter book.
I have a book on my autumn TBR and it's called "13 Minutes". I feel it's a perfect read for autumn because of the synopsis. Check it out and see if you'll like the sound :) x
I really want to read the new book by one of my favorite authors. I got it a few days ago (it's only out in German so far but it's by Walter Moers and he's amazing and you should totally check out his other books!)

Fall is MAGICAL ✨🍁 It's such a cozy time of year, where you can just relax and read. Thank you for your recommendations 😊
Where do you buy your books? And how do you find them, personally (ads, TH-cam, etc.,)?
Edit: You said you write, do you have Wattpad?
Omg you are absolutely adorable, what a beautiful young woman. You are such a role model for me and I always enjoy your videos! :)
You need to make a video on how to get out of a reading slump please idk how
Emma St.pierre for me I go to a bookstore and that motivates me to catch up on my reading list
Wuthering Heights is my favorite classic! I can't wait to hear how you like it. I plan to read Frankenstein this fall.
I have so many books to read this Fall/Christmas, but I'm afraid, that there's not enough fall to do so 😦
My fall reading plan (so far...)
The Name of the Wind, Lord of the flies, The first 15 lives of Harry August, The Invention of Wings, StarChaser, The adventures of Sherlock Holmes, A gathering of shadows, A conjuring of light, All the crooked Saints, Frozen Tides, Crystal Storm, Scythe, Illuminae, Nevernight, Six of Crows, Revolver, The subtle knife, Dash and Lilys book of dares AND I want to reread Harry Potter 5-7

Hey Hailey! I am hosting a 24 hour read-a-thon this Saturday Sept 23rd midnight to midnight. If you are interested, you can join me and it might help you to push through those fall books. If you can't join me this weekend, I will be hosting another on Oct 28th!
Yay, glad it's back! XD Did you not do a vlog this past week?
Fall is my favorite season too! I love the leaves changing colors, Halloween, the cool brisk air, and the seasonal items of everything pumpkin. I wish I could live in autumn all year round, lol. If there was a place like that I wold move there.

I am the messenger is just as great at The Book Thief in my opinion and OMG the mystery behind the whole thing!
Just finished dreamland burning, and it was so raw and kept me on the edge of my seat. I truly loved it. Hope you enjoy.

I'm going to start blaming you for my indecent TBR lol ! I really love your videos :)
I can't read anything because of school!!! You look stunning(as always).
Julian Vargas Me too.
I loved A Study in Charlotte and the sequel!

Wolf by Wolf and it's sequel Blood for Blood are incredible, definitely two of my favourites!! Love the video 💕
I Am the Messenger is actually one of my favorite books of all time! Markus Zusak is a very underrated contemporary writer, but a great one. Hailey in Bookland oh I'm sorry for little Jackson, hope he'll get well soon !! sending love to both of you ❤
I love fall too
Halloween is my favorite holiday
Haven't read Frankenstein but Dracula is a classic horror that I like to read as well.
I've had The Walled City on my TBR for the longest time too. Dreamland Burning has be incredibly intrigued.
omg your hair is so beautiful!!!!
The Walled City is SO GOOD. I could not put it down. Wolf by Wolf is even better! Possibly my favorite duology of all time.
I love fall and I cannot wait to read cozy reads!! Finally....
I know this is sooo irrelevant but I love your lipstick! It looks gorgeous xx
The walled city is super good and a fast read!!

My fall tbr is falling apart, but I need to read the Six of Crows duology and Wonder Woman Warbringer. I also still need to read A Monster Calls.
