My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
I feel so bad for those who, like Joe, started gaining weight at a very young age due to their parents' lack of care. I'm happy that his story was a successful one.
He might have hurt his knee, but the ambulance men are at more risk from moving him.
If I was that big my mother wouldn’t bring me food, she’d have let me starve till I reached a healthy weight. Why is everyone feeding this poor man? Would they bring crack to an addict?
yes, but look at the size of his mother. 400 pounds I reckon. She doesn't know anything about eating less, unfortunately.
If you were that size it would likely be because your parents neglected you as a kid and forced an addiction onto you that's incredibly destructive and hard to break.

On the 30th August 2024 I was 82kg180lbs Now October 17th I am 70kg154lbs!!.
I have been thinking about pizza every single day for past month or 2 *Help*, But legit I do get happy when some of these people actually lose all the weight and get better, it is very motivational. I have legit had 1 big plate full of vegetables and chicken each day for 5 days so far its torture I need to go get a Pie or 2 from the Dairy sometime lmao.
Nice work, these videos motivate me as well. I started my diet on the 9th of September at 89kg on the 14th of October I was 77.5kg going for a goal weight of 62kg by Christmas 😊
Vegetables shouldnt taste bad. You probably suck at cooking. And this is not sustainable. If you dont like what your eating then how do you expect to maintain after your goal is reached? In anycase good job just make sure to make good tasting food. Healthy doesnt mean food needs to taste bad.

I totally used these videos as aversion therapy about 9 -10 years ago and have kept it off . I cut carbs a lot at first, have a bit now. And way less salt , and water most all of the time. Keep at it you can do it. also I swim and work out with weights and walk the dogs for a mile or two a couple times a weeks =)

Mom cries alot but she is a BIG part of Joes problem.

At least Joe is committed to turning his life around and trying his best unlike a lot of people his size, he’s doing what the doctor tells him and really trying hard to drop pounds, good on him, I wish him the best.

His sister; a grown woman & mother comes to see that he eats and gives him a disgusting micro waved hot pocket, I would not give that to my dog.. The number one problem with these people is they are extremely Lazy I have NEVER seen one cook a home style style wholesome meal.
She could have done a nice pot roast loaded with fresh veggies in a crock pot and brought that to him. I know he got married but that din't last.
Disgusting, and the Mother's no better. Not everyone who had a bad childhood ends up the size of a barn, so that's a cop out.

There is Ozempic now that these people can use.
Ozempic has terrible side effects! My brother is on it for diabetes and he's always sick since he's been taking it (he has to follow doctor's orders, or they'll take him off the transplant list). The willpower to eat less and exercise is a much better choice.
I can't bring myself to find any kind of sympathy, like at all. You're well aware of what's going on, you're a victim of your own creation.

@@carlystone5994 You do NOT handle "EXCRUCIATING" pain by acting that way, so calm & well-controlled. I have seen excruciating pain in my work as a RN in the ER, & it looks nothing like that.
@eekamouse-js8lr I'm an RN and I have learned pain comes in different expressions. His face was in distress. You do know stroke immobile patients feel pain but can't express it like you expect, right?
