I don’t sense his commitment to Green Bay at all here if he’s still doing his radio show, where is the accountability? I think this is a publicity stunt for whatever reason.
P5 coaches don't have radio shows likr gottlieb has a radio show. They have a show once a week where they discuss their program. They don't have daily 3 hour shows where they discuss everything in sports
I know it's their job to promote Mercedes, but I find the intro every video has to be incredibly lame and a huge waste of, I know 10 seconds in nothing, time
Yes, you are lame because rather than taking control of your life and skipping ahead in the video (easy to do) you feel it's necessary to complain so we all know how horrible your life is. What a putz...
Cal had a weekly one-hour coach's show, much like literally EVERY SINGLE major college coach. He didn't work 5 days a week on a 3-hour show where you have to cover all of the latest happenings in the major sports.
I read yesterday that Doug is still gonna do is fox sports national radio show. I wonder if this will start a trend for head coaches doing this outside of them doing their local radio shows for the city 👀
I will be very curious to see how he will do his radio show while doling out to his assistants some of the key coaching decisions during the week. You also have to take into account the travel in the Horizon League, and especially during the non-conference portion in November and December. Speaking as a loyal fan of the sport, he will definitely have his work cut out for him. But with NIL and getting the right mix of players, who knows what might happen? At the end, every coach is judged by wins and losses. And if UWGB reaches the NCAA Tournament, what a story that would be in a one-bid league.
I hear passion and purpose in his voice regarding his intention so I’d give him a chance. He’s been successful so why doubt anything before it happens. Give it a chance. Dp’s interupting guests answering again.
@@Hoodlum728 It wasn't just one, he stole credit cards from 3 students while at Notre Dame. A few months before that he'd gotten caught plagiarizing and got off easy on that as well. All of this is well documented and you can look it up online.
I don’t think he’s gonna make it as a head coach. He’s not tactful enough and doesn’t always see the big picture. What really was a turn off was when he told Rob Parker on his show that there was zero racism in NFL head coach hires because it wasn’t “logical.” That’s the kind of BS he comes up with sometimes. I don’t think it’s gonna fly. And I’m not a cancel culture PC guy at all but to tell a black man to his face there’s been zero racism in NFL hires because it’s not logical. Clown move.
When you look at some of the highly questionable white hires for head coach, I think it's more nepotism with friends than willful racism. I don't think they're thinking I won't hire this guy cause he's black, it's more I'm gonna hire this guy because I'm friendly with him. Not going to say that mentality doesn't exist though.
How does a guy who covers and played college basketball not understand the massive time commitment it takes to be a college HC. You should be in the office (or out recruiting) from 7AM to 9PM, 7 days a week. This dude hasn't thought out any of this. It's insane.
I am sure his assistants will be very capable to handle more than just the X's and O's. Again, I am interested in what he will be doing in the NIL sphere, but how will he translate to wins in the Horizon League. Like many mid-majors, it is a one-bid league. Thanks to the Power 4, at-large bids are going to very difficult to come by--that is if and only if the NCAA Tournament expands to either 72 or 76 teams.
He already contradicted himself saying he’s the coach and can control his schedule. Then he says someone’s assigned to him, telling him where to be and when. He’s going to fail spectacularly.
Can you please stop starting all your videos with that deafening audio on the Mercedes commercial? It doesn’t need to be that loud. It’s startling and hurts my ears.
Not the greatest look saying "when has anyone ever talked about recruits for Green Bay" when you are the coach of Green Bay. I mean he's not wrong, but probably not what the A.D. wants to hear his head coach say.
Guys who weren't good enough to play often have unfulfilled dreams that give them the drive to become great coaches.....let's test that out on Gottlieb, who shot 36% from the field for his career, 24% from 3 point range, and was 45% for his career from the free throw line......Shaq was a better free throw shooter in college than Gottlieb.
Hiring Doug Gottleib as your coach does so little to move the needle or improve your program's reputation/recruiting/image, that even Doug Gottleib himself won't quit his other job because it doesn't move the needle for him. But hey, at least he gets a new credit card from the Athletic Department. IYKYK
@@willpomeroy7711 Because like Deion......Doug is an outspoken person and a salesman. And also GB is a stepping stone job for something bigger like Jackson State was a stepping stone job for Colorado.

Doesn’t every well-known coach in Power 5 have their own radio or TV show during the season? It’s pretty common in all sports.

😂😅
Loved the interview. Good luck coach Gottlieb
Congratulations Doug, well-deserved. I’ve always liked and respected him
Him still doing his show is a weird decision
Great news for us regular watchers
Look forward to following the GB Phoenix later this year.
Is he still going to be doing the voice of Quagmire on Family Guy?...
“Heh heh alright!” 😂
How can you do both jobs
Hanging on to this radio gig while coaching a college basketball team, is probably a bad idea. Not sure Doug really thought this all the way through.
