Not individuals, but the whole team representing our program. Cal asked to lose support himself by his actions and words.
After beating down tenn on the road he had a lot of the fanbase on his side until he opened his mouth right after the game and said I don’t care about the sec tourney. Why even say that? You can think it all you want but he knows after 15 years how much that means to the fans and saying that just shows how out of touch he was with the fans and the university. His ego got bigger than his coaching ability. Everybody loves you when you win and you can say what ever you want. When you ain’t winning nobody wants to hear anything from you they want you to win. That’s what you are paid to do and that’s it.
Your the problem fan , Kentucky winning doesn't make you a winner. Why would a player or coach come to Kentucky? Fans Disloyalty and lack of character.
Exactly, the Coach doesn't wear a uniform, if the kids he recruits misses shots, that's on them. The only thing I thought he was doing wrong was...not starting Reed and Dillingham. He gets the top 5 recruiting class every year, when they only stay one year, how can he get an experienced team, I still remember Shannon Sharpe, sit the whole year on the bench, then he goes pro... never played one game as a Wildcat. I'm sure Calipari never thought that he would leave without even playing 1 game, when he recruited him. I think UK will regret his leaving, because now we all have to wait and see who stays...who goes... I'm only certain of 1 coming back...and that's Reed Sheppard.

Look what happens when he has full control. We have a coach handcuffed to us with the insane buyout yet if he leaves we get nothing for the investment. Great contract. Mitch is the reason our football facilities were never upgraded and it took stoops telling him he wouldn’t come and nobody else would come unless they were done. We didn’t even have a recruiting room for the football facilities and tee Martin would take recruits to the basketball facilities trying to recruit football players. Mitch needs to go as well. He has had so many opportunities to do the right thing and be a leader and every single time he has failed. And before somebody says anything about the small sports, nobody cares. They are fun little sports but if you want those sports to stick around you have to invest highly in the ones that fund everything for the university.

And I'm scared they are gonna try to get him now and if they do, it will be another dumpster fire. Go with a newer, younger head coach. They need someone to salvage the recruiting class and I think someone like a Penny Hardaway or even taking a leap of faith and hiring a first time head coach. Billy hasn’t coached in over a decade, left for the reasons why college sports are (now) being destroyed. the AD apparently has ties with Scott Drew. he’s a great coach won a championship with no fans in the stands. Much rather see a team of transfers that have some experience and play hard and can make it deep into the tournament. Who cares about the NBA draft. Did one and done work out before? We always got beat by teams who had more experience. This is the change that was needed long ago. Surprised they let him stay this long.
I think that the BBN would like and enjoy the current playbook that Duke, North Carolina, and Villanova are currently using! Hire Mark Pope and have him put former UK National Championship players from the Pitino Era at UK! Pope should use the same playbook that Pitino had! I think Scott Drew seems like the best fit for Kentucky...seems the most stable, the one who'd stay the longest, wouldn't bring a brash personality, seems to be able to recruit and develop. Don't think the personality of Hurley is a fit, Donovan I don't know...doesn't really seem interested maybe in the college game as much.

When Pitino bolted for the Celtics in ‘97, I told every one of my fellow UK fans that Billy Donovan was the obvious choice to replace him. IMHO, it made perfect sense. Pitino was the professor and Billy was his prized pupil. Most of my friends agreed with that assessment, some didn’t. Billy went to Florida, won back to back titles and made the logical/expected jump to the pros. Tubby won it all in ‘98 with Pitino’s players and hasn’t really done much else, since. Now, Donovan’s no spring chicken. Those “Billy the Kid” days are very much in the rear view mirror. I know he’s a lot closer to the end of his coaching career than the beginning. I also know that it’s unlikely for an NBA coach to return to the college ranks but I still believe he’d be a great fit at UK. Just my two cents.
Cal couldn’t do it here anymore! He won’t be able to at Arkansas because his ultimate style of defense really depends on the other team playing bad. He’s easy to plan and prepare for. Oakland s coach said it best. We couldn’t have got a better draw. His defensive game plan is secondary to offense. In college ball. The offense starts on the defensive side of the ball.

I saw Cal at Fayette Mall shopping with his wife. Cal pretended to be on the phone, and simply ignored the few fans that came up for a quick pic. Those fans were polite. The look on their faces when he walked away was horrible. Cal was paid millions to not only be the coach, but to be the face of the program.

Hello first time person trying to get with Matt Jones. I’m a BBN person for some time now 20 + years. Keep hearing from know it alls like S Davis & S Greensburg that Cal will have over 5 million in NIL money to buy or in college sports now entice players that are 5 star or really good transfer portal player with monetary Gaines to play for Arkansas and coach Cal. Also keep hearing that Cal would have stayed it UK ponied up more money. Glad Mitch didn’t but came if other sources. How come UK only has NIL money of 2.5 million? Also I think Mitch & Cal meeting Cal was told that things have to change and that Cal would not have 100% control over program going forward. When Cal was playing golf before all the news broke about leaving for the hogs with the chicken king pushing for his friend to be there and Call said I’ll take less money as long as I get complete control of program and that big war chest full of cash to flash to potential players to come to this university. And mr Greenberg stated they will be in final 4 in 3 yrs. When Cal couldn’t coach the best recruits past the 1st week. Mitch is the reason we are in this mess. Mitch was the reason he passed on cal the first time and hired Billy g. Mitch is the reason our football facilities were never upgraded and it took stoops telling him he wouldn’t come and nobody else would come unless they were done. We didn’t even have a recruiting room for the football facilities and tee Martin would take recruits to the basketball facilities trying to recruit football players. Mitch needs to go as well. He has had so many opportunities to do the right thing and be a leader and every single time he has failed. And before somebody says anything about the small sports, nobody cares. They are fun little sports but if you want those sports to stick around you have to invest highly in the ones that fund everything for the university.

And I'm scared they are gonna try to get him now and if they do, it will be another dumpster fire. Go with a newer, younger head coach. They need someone to salvage the recruiting class and I think someone like a Penny Hardaway or even taking a leap of faith and hiring a first time head coach. Boogie said he thinks Rondo should get a call and I agree. I also think that JJ Redick is another guy he'd be very good with connecting with younger players.

We always got beat by teams who had more experience. This is the change that was needed long ago. Surprised they let him stay this long.
I think that the BBN would like and enjoy the current playbook that Duke, North Carolina, and Villanova are currently using! Hire Mark Pope and have him put former UK National Championship players from the Pitino Era at UK! Pope should use the same playbook that Pitino had! Hurley, Oats, Wright, and Billy D arent coming and if they do, it'll be expensive, and only Hurley and Oats may succeed because theyre currently in the coaching landscape with NIL.

I think Scott Drew seems like the best fit for Kentucky...seems the most stable, the one who'd stay the longest, wouldn't bring a brash personality, seems to be able to recruit and develop. Don't think the personality of Hurley is a fit, Donovan I don't know...doesn't really seem interested maybe in the college game as much.

When Pitino bolted for the Celtics in ‘97, I told every one of my fellow UK fans that Billy Donovan was the obvious choice to replace him. IMHO, it made perfect sense. Pitino was the professor and Billy was his prized pupil. Most of my friends agreed with that assessment, some didn’t. Billy went to Florida, won back to back titles and made the logical/expected jump to the pros. Tubby won it all in ‘98 with Pitino’s players and hasn’t really done much else, since.
Now, Donovan’s no spring chicken. Those “Billy the Kid” days are very much in the rear view mirror. I know he’s a lot closer to the end of his coaching career than the beginning. I also know that it’s unlikely for an NBA coach to return to the college ranks but I still believe he’d be a great fit at UK. Just my two cents.

Cal couldn’t do it here anymore! He won’t be able to at Arkansas because his ultimate style of defense really depends on the other team playing bad. He’s easy to plan and prepare for. Oakland s coach said it best. We couldn’t have got a better draw. His defensive game plan is secondary to offense. In college ball. The offense starts on the defensive side of the ball.

I saw Cal at Fayette Mall shopping with his wife. Cal pretended to be on the phone, and simply ignored the few fans that came up for a quick pic. Those fans were polite. The look on their faces when he walked away was horrible. Cal was paid millions to not only be the coach, but to be the face of the program.

Hello first time person trying to get with Matt Jones. I’m a BBN person for some time now 20 + years. Keep hearing from know it alls like S Davis & S Greensburg that Cal will have over 5 million in NIL money to buy or in college sports now entice players that are 5 star or really good transfer portal player with monetary Gaines to play for Arkansas and coach Cal. Also keep hearing that Cal would have stayed it UK ponied up more money. Glad Mitch didn’t but came if other sources. How come UK only has NIL money of 2.5 million? Also I think Mitch & Cal meeting Cal was told that things have to change and that Cal would not have 100% control over program going forward. When Cal was playing golf before all the news broke about leaving for the hogs with the chicken king pushing for his friend to be there and Call said I’ll take less money as long as I get complete control of program and that big war chest full of cash to flash to potential players to come to this university. And mr Greenberg stated they will be in final 4 in 3 yrs. When Cal couldn’t coach the best recruits past the 1st week. Lastly I don’t like these coaches that they think will take UK job if offered Billy the Kid past his days, Wright doesn’t have the fire, Oates couldn’t handle BBN, Hurley is too northeastern for BBN, all those posted bluntly don’t bother calling.
