Sweet, sweet video crossedthread. One of the most enjoyable for me on youtube! That looks like a handfull to drive, fun...but a handfull. Excellent job!
My advice is check out ZCars they have made hundreds of bike engined cars using all sorts of transmissions so they know what works and could save you alot in time and trouble (I'd say use a chain every time). BARC - Sports and Special Saloons will allow these types of cars. Good Luck
Mid engined has got to be the way to go. Oulton Park May 2007- Miglia best time = 1.38.8 CA in his ZCar Mini 1.38.2. In 2008 they may be quicker still as there are currently a dozen being built to race!
That guy had plenty of control, that is why when it was going out of control he managed to MISS the other 2 cars very close to him. Also if you think about it he was driving the most difficult car to control on the track probably, that much horse power with so little body wieght AND the shortest wheelbase of any car on the track. Personally I give the guy 2 thumbs up, he did well and didn't crash, blame the BMW for him having to lock on =p
Think he did overcook it a touch at the end, Ive been round that track the very last right hander is over a slight crest you can see him go light and sides ways, plus that slower car in the way n that was that. Ace driving though that Busa engine was working hard all the way.
ok thanks m8, i can't have a look on there website yet as there's something wrong. Id like the implicity of just a chain, but the car will be my road car aswell as a race car so i need that reverse gear. Have you get any infomation on the championship as i can't seem to find any, Thanks....
na, i'm pretty sure it has the hyabusa turbo, so around 300, because that's what zcars use in there race sereis. In hillclimb it's the monte carlo with a 450 bhp suprecharged vtec.
Hey m8, im going to build a Spaceframed fiat 126 with a turbocharged Suzuki hayabusa lump in the back. So far there's two problems i've come across - i don't want a chain, so need a transfer box and i was wondering what one you used if you actualy used one at all?? And the other is that there doesn't seem to be any championships for these little cars - Do you know of any? Thanks
Hey maker of this car do you think it is possible to fit an intercooler in the front, small compressor with a pipe running to the back and fitting a turbo ?
Fuck me! That thing goes like stink!! Love the move where the Mini drives between two cars going into a corner. Such a shame he over-cooked it at the end. Surprised about the lack of gloves though (illegal in racing I thought)
im not trying to knock these cars there great little cars .but there straight line speed does not relate to lap times ie a mini miglia with a well tuned A series has faster lap times round oulton park i still think the z car minis would be faster if the engine was in the front
the miglia lap recordc is 2sec quicker than the 1.38 thay recorded this year no doubt the z minis will beat this in the coming years next year looks like being a good years racing with all zminis the vauxhalls and our vtec see you on the track
quite frankly, average, i thought it would have done better considering the amount of money and time invested in this car vs. pretty stock BMWs. Didnt really eat up the corners

The tubo version is under "ZCars Turbo Hayabusa Monte Carlo". Can't seem to post a link

What a mean mini lol

Wow that looks a right handful great driving is that a standard hayabusa engine?
Mid engined has got to be the way to go.

damn... the start is amazing. It's almost like the mini did a running start or something.
na, i'm pretty sure it has the hyabusa turbo, so around 300, because that's what zcars use in there race sereis. In hillclimb it's the monte carlo with a 450 bhp suprecharged vtec.
Shouldnt you have racing flameproof gloves on?
Great race but a sad ending :(
it'd be great if we can see your MPH/KMPH throughout the race

may i ask how much it cost and its curb weight?
That BMW is actually a pretty trick ex German Touring Car!
Uhh this guy was a wild driver. Figures the only thing to best him was a 20 year old M3. E30 Forever!
??!! Lap record holder for its class!!
very reckless driving and it didn't seem like you where in control...proved by the ending. It was a blast to watch though.
wow i soo want one now!!
wot engine he running in the e30?
where can i find a dashboard like this???
no gloves?
Racing without gloves ? is that allowed?
Fuck me! That thing goes like stink!! Love the move where the Mini drives between two cars going into a corner. Such a shame he over-cooked it at the end. Surprised about the lack of gloves though (illegal in racing I thought)
what is that car in from at 0:24!?
only inside, outside its just like a normal hayabusa :)
where?
Oulten Park FTW!
that thing is sweet!
looks like a custom job would have to make one yourself me thinks.
yeah go on son!!
This looks extremely light, isn't it considered a prototype? Acceleration from 0 is just insane
1:42 like a boss!
@crossedthread what circuit is this?
oulton park in Cheshire
Siiiiik passing skills at 1:45
zajebiste:D:d

thats nucking futs
looks like a modified Lotus Europa
this mini is fast in a straight line but its lap times are not that great
jump start :)
well he didnt this guy had a lot to improve on his racing line
quite frankly, average, i thought it would have done better considering the amount of money and time invested in this car vs. pretty stock BMWs. Didnt really eat up the corners
Oulton Park
S14
it sounds so bad...
can't drive faster? lol
