Gelukkig can also mean lucky whereas bly always only means happy

Is it possible to use a short unstressed form for jy/jou as you do in Dutch or example (and English)? Like when "jy" is not really stressed... is one supposed to pronounce the vowel in a complete way? For example... can you say something like (English rendition) "Isshe honger?" instead of "Is - jy - honger?"
There isn't a shortened version of jy/jou. Though for 'is' - when speaking fast - people might leave out the 'i' (example - S'jy honger?). But when written it will still be written as "Is jy honger?".

Hi Lindie. my question is about the pronounce of honger ( hungry) in Afrikaans the letter G has the sound of H in English Hot or R in car. So, in the word Honger is the pronounce /rronrrer, rronger (like g in get), or as google translate says rroñer ( like ing in English words)??
I just listened to the Google Translate version of "honger" and it really sounds like a robot so I wouldn't trust that, haha. I'm not sure I understand your question very well. Are you asking if the H is pronounced like an R? Apart from where I said it in my video, you can listen to someone on Forvo saying it: forvo.com/search/honger/af/ I hope that helps!

how to pronounce tj in Afrikaans? Is there sound sh in Afrikaans or can you pronounce ch like g in Dutch?
'tj' in Afrikaans is the same sound as 'ch' in English. The 'sh' sound you are talking about is written as 'sj' generally in Afrikaans.

G in dutch and g in Afrikaans is the exact same sound
