Our next adventure takes us to the majestic Arenal Volcano National Park near the town of La Fortuna in Costa Rica’s northwest.
Arenal Volcano National Park is one of the most visited destinations in Costa Rica.
Don't forget to check out the majestic Ceiba tree by exploring the Ceibo trail.
Also included in the price of admission is the "Peninsula" section of the park, which is a short 2 kilometer drive from the main section of Arenal Volcano National Park.
It is well worth the short drive as it provides great views of Arenal lake as well as of Arenal volcano.

Thank you so much 👍 The rains did not intimidate us. lol As far as I know, this is as close as you can get to Arenal volcano. When we do, eventually, go back - I plan on visiting the Poas volcano, where you can actually see the volcano cone from a viewpoint atop a higher neighboring mountain. We had an incredible time there. The rain only provided us an opportunity to have (most of) the place pretty much to ourselves . I highly recommend going.

That's yet another beautiful spot, I love rainforest that surround volcanoes, it's such a marvelous blend of ecosystems! Love the stylish raincoats too! Hahah!
Arenal was in my top 3 favorite places that we visited in Costa Rica. Glad you liked the raincoats - They were created by a world renowned fashion designer and garnered lots of attention in the rainforest. 🤣

Amazing tall towering grass on the start of the trail to the volcano.
Climbing depends on the weather.
Hope you get to the climb next time.
But it is nice there also other trails to explore.
Thanks for coming along! Unfortunately, it is not permitted to climb this volcano, but the trails and wildlife around the national park still make it a worthwile visit.
