Indeed, I watched the whole program and Sara touched so many issues that came out of the war in Tigray. Your background where your parents originated out of Tigray and you are born in Denmark. Your parents married for more than 40 years a typical traditional family in every aspects - religion, cultural identity/ ethnicity, psychological and what have you. Your father was a freedom fighter under TPLF no doubt has a deep political influence with Tigray and the leadership of TPLF. In Ethiopia after the imperial rules the issues of nationalities; books were written and people were talking but not openly. Then after the fall Hailesellasie then power was grabbed by the military called the Derg. Since then the political power in Ethiopia has completely changed for ever. The 17 years of the brutal military government ended 1991 followed by EPRDF dominated by TPLF. The war 2020 in Tigray vs Ethiopia has brought so many issues and some of the issues were hidden for centuries. Ethiopia as fedual country economically undeveloped had a lot of social issues. Tigray as part of Ethiopia with its own specific characteristics like every region within Ethiopia had been ruled by Fedual Kings, military dictator and Federal Government; today the so called Prosperity Party is led by a person who has no any sort government background named Abiy. His coming to power out of nowhere after 27 years of EPRDF dominating by TPLF. Unfortunately, time for change had arrived in 2018 and the TPLF has completely withdraw from the Federal Government never accepted the Abey Government and TPLF with its full forces retreated to Tigray. Within two years full war exploded and lasted almost two years. The war involved foreign forces invited by Abiy. The damage was so brutal killed almost a million Tigreans lost their lives. The destruction of the infrastructures was immense. Overall genocide was committed. Today, Tigray is suffering with no real issues solved after Pretoria Peace Agreement. As if that is not enough the Tigray - TPLF is divided into two groups the rest is history. The Tigreans in dispora who played a vital diplomatic role exposing the Abiy regime. Sara, you looked you played part of the diaspora diplomatic missions mobilize Tigreans around the world. I am proud of you and you seemed to be very much involved. Tigray needs people like you with vision and energy. I see some problems that have come with identity crisis in Tigreans in Ethiopia and in dispora. The issue of Tigray independent is widely in discussions. A good discussion with Teklay very educational. Therefore, good luck with your book timely needed for Tigreans. I can't wait to get a copy of it in English version.
The whole thing was draining, we are all suffering the post war trauma. . . .and at the earlier opportunity we laid back. One other issue is also the luck of leadership, the lock of people that reason like this intelligent lady, that could guide or lead the community.
