Then one day when the money ran out and his friends abandoned him, the prodigal came to his senses. He returned home. And his father graciously welcomed him and forgave him.
Jesus shared this story to give us a picture of God. We’re like the prodigal who ran away from God. But if we will turn from our sin and return to Him, then He will forgive us.
But here’s the problem. Do we want to be forgiven? You see, the Bible warns us about developing a hardened heart. Hebrews 3:12 says, “Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God”
Make no mistake about it. Sin is powerful. It is also deceptive. People who know better, people who have walked with the Lord for years and know His Word well, still have fallen into sin. We must all be very careful.
As the great evangelist Billy Sunday pointed out, “You can’t get rid of sin as long as you treat it as a cream puff instead of a rattlesnake.”
We might look at something we’re about to do and think, “It isn’t that big of a deal. It’s just a small sin. Surely it won’t do that much harm in my life.” Watch out. We must be careful and not allow sin to harden our hearts.
No matter what you’ve done, no matter what sins you’ve committed, God stands ready to forgive you, if you will come to Him.
i almost shed a tear seeing this fr. I'm getting back into fighting games after an almost 10-12 year hiatus thanks to SF6, MK1, & Tekken 8 and getting back into these live fighting events and such and finding out my ALL TIME favorite video game has a big tournament every year yanked back out my childhood... Thank You CEO, truly. I would love to see this as a bigger tournament in the future. I would tune in to every second.

@@raer5373 I doubt millions. A lot of these guys were HUGE back then, voice acting has rates, it has nothing to do with status. Not to mention you have to consider most of the people used in this game had little to no acting chops. There were only a few of people in this game that were actors, example being Omar Epps, but even then voice acting is a much different animal than actual acting. Voice acting pay is balanced by experience and acting chops, also amount of their voice used in the game matters. The major characters in the story probably got the most money. They could def redo this game if they wanted to cuz even still, most of the people used still don't have acting chops in the current day. Just because you are who you are, don't matter. Pay is not based on that.
It could easily be done. The reason why this game exists with all the star power, MARKETING. This is such an easy gig to market yourself, by being in a video game, playing yourself. The game didn't need to pay them a ton of money because of that simple fact. I guarantee you a lot of these guys made a KILLING by giving EA the permission to use their likeness. I wouldn't even be surprised if a lot of them did the gig for free. A lot of the characters are gamers themselves as well.
the wall splats are busted as all hell, but other than that the gameplay is great. They might have to tweak the getup cheese as well. I'd easily take a copy/pasted game with improved visuals IN A HEARTBEAT. This is one of the best fighting games ever made.

This is why the FGC is probably the best community out there. Game is pushing 20 years old and there is still enough of a player base to hold a tourney at a big event. I love fighting games.

I have to create a character and run through story mode at least once a year for nostalgia sake.

It has FINALLY happened.
Everyone in the chat is enjoying Def Jam FFNY because of nostalgia, and that's fine. But I am an OG of this Def Jam Competitive scene since 2018, and the time has finally come where we see the masters of the game get dethroned by the student. DaHatMan (dripsugeki) has been in this scene since the beginning and has always had the potential to beat these two (Joey and Gate). Online matches are nothing compared to actually playing IN PERSON with zero delay, and Hatman always said that one day he's going to get on this stage and get it done, and he indeed did it. It's just a great moment to watch and enjoy as an OG of the community.
I know Joey and Gate are happy (deep down inside) to finally be beaten on stage because this is what THIS SHIT is about. If the same two people keep winning EVERY year, is the community getting better at all? Hat came last year and lost (he was messing around, to be honest). He came back this year and LOCKED the fuck in and got the job done. I believed he could do it. Shoutout to Joey, GateKeeper, and Dripsugeki for keeping this scene alive, though. I am so fucking proud.

I love this game. I emulated it on PC a couple years ago and it was sick as hell. Had no idea there was a real scene for it. Might try to get into it because it's mad fun. Got a PS2 but never got the game, wasn't really the right age when it was out.

Just when I was looking for a sequel, CEO delivered! The fact that this tournament built on so many storylines from last year and was just as satisfying is impressive! These are the perfect commentators for Def Jam and the competition is steep. I hope one day this game can grow to have a very large community and be on the big stages the way street fighter and smash are
