I liked the design of the 100 dollar one the best. The 25 one was super cute and I appreciate that the 150 one actually had a shape fit for a bookcover and was fully handpainted! The robot and the character in the 280 one look really nice, but the scene doesn't really feel dynamic to me🙈 (also the cat😔) Also I liked the first character design the best! Totally agree here, the artist used some photobashing but it's done well enough that it's not overly noticeable and it isn't that grainy. It honestly looks like something that you would pay much more for.
@@dritter7051 well that depends if you want a cover that wraps around or not (I actually prefer these because they make it feel more cohesive) but I have to say, that if the 285$ and 100$ were indeed intended to cover both the front and the back of a book, then the characters were not well placed. So yeah for what it is supposed to be I think the 150$ is the best one
No it isn't. Just because you feel they should have charged more doesn't mean they feel they should. People overcharge on art so ridiculously often, and I'm saying that as someone who does art.
That's exploitation, lad. You do something amazing, someone gets thousands of dollars, you get enough for a meal and it is fair and legal and we all are alright about it.
considering the amount of motivation it takes to even draw, let alone consistently improve and hone those skills. Every penny spent on art is worth it. At least, what else would one spend that cash on? (after base needs of course, never spend money needed for food and living on art lol) Also even for 100 dollar they clearly put in a lot of work. A lot of artists would charge more for two characters.

My favorites are the $25 and the $150 pieces. I think the $25 piece was best for your money but the $150 artist should get bonus points for being the only artist to do it in the portrait orientation which is the correct orientation for a book cover.
It actually isn't though, you'd need a front and back side and the cover should wrap around the book. So a horizontal orientation would make the most sense (I think).
what if you tell them each to make foreground, background, main character, etc but with diffrent people then you put them all together to make an epic artwork? that would be so cool
in that case i would like an open collaberation better, jazza writing them that he wants to commission a work for some kind of mural, maybe they would do it even without a fee because its great advertisement (an add for a 4.1mio sub youtuber can make some people go waaaaaay deep)

I think you can't underprice art because money has no real value in the world where real art has relevance. If there is love for a work of art that work of art is paid in full. Money is worthless, so even taking millions and millions for good art is underpricing art. Art takes passion and a good sense of life. They might get more work because of the price. They're getting more practice and being paid for it. They will get faster, more skillful, and be making a lot of money. Plus, they can also set up a higher tier.
The Brown RAT 100 jobs takes a lot more time than 1 job though, unless the $1 ones are really really quickly done, but then you risk people thinking your work is shit... :/
A lot of drawn children's books are landscape (like said before) but typically when doing commission work you either have to stick with the material provided, ask the commissioner or provide multiple options for the clientele to select from. Because Jazza commissioned using a landscape drawing as the material, it was expected a landscape drawing would be recieved in return.
He should have kept the dimensions regardless. You can't just assume what the dimensions are, especially after receiving a source material to work with.
KNEE SLAPPERS Yeah.. Same.. The robot design is much more impressive, Garius had more entertaining jetpack design, it’s more self made rather than futuristic military standard issue uniform.. It’s really well done..
Honestly I'm someone that prefers a heavily stylized look over a photo-realistic rendering or a more traditional style/look. Hate to go around promoting other people on Jazza's channel, but Vivziepop and similar are def my cup of tea: th-cam.com/video/ZWrM-eDxTas/w-d-xo.html I went and commissioned her some years back, $300 for a two character piece. That 'book cover' piece for $25? Considering it's for commercial use I'd be paying $200 PLUS royalties minimum.
The proportions being correct is an important part of the product asked for. Of course, not all books have the "standard" proportions and I don't remember Jazza specifying, so we shouldn't be *too* hard on the other artists for that.
@@wolfmatic399 True, but he should also have specified. If I was his artist, I would have asked a clarification question, or defaulted to the "traditional" ratio. Let's be clear: if Jazza had actually wanted a book cover, not specifying the proper ratio was his fault. Since he was really just wanting to see what quality of art he could get, the ratio doesn't matter as much and we get to have a fun discussion about whether it's actually a problem or not.
A lot of artists need to have better business sense. If you're working $25 for several hours, you're making below minimum wage for something that is a valuable talent that most people cannot do. $20-40 is a good hourly rate for his level of skill.
@@ghostphoto1789 What is especially frustrating about this is that it devalues the industry and everyone's work as a whole. If you set a precedent for undercharging, it's what people will expect to pay.

25$ had the best looking garius 100$ had the best background and the little kitty cat 285$ had the best demonic crystalized robot also props to the 150$ for the orientation because its for a book cover great video good job Jazza for giving them exposure so that more people can order from them.
The $100 set the scene so well with their color palette while the $150 one looked a bit clashy for my taste, even with the photo being used I think that's the most impressive one for the price
Couldn’t agree more. I was so impressed with the Garius in the $25 one, you can really tell that artist put their heart into it. And the robot design in the most expensive one is just amazing!! Too bad they didn’t include the cat
Damn as someone who 3d models and is learning digital painting I cant get over how bad the 285 one is.The robots a generic 3D model with some pathetic paint over (left arm lazor, the head bits ok) the volcano is utterly pathetic, the buildings are either a photo or 3D model, the cars either a 3d model, a quick paint over, or a photo distorted, the sky is a photo thats been so pathetically painted over (alot of lines are literally on top of the building, he didnt even rub them out, so that probably means the buildings are a photograph joined with the sky) The character looks vastly different to the style of the robot, almost like a rubbery plastic figure. Would not be surprised if its just a quick paint over too. On second glance, the hair is definitely painted over. looks like he added a moderate amount of paint on top of a pre-existing character and gaussian blurred it. The smoke on the volcano is a cut out, the lines on our right are so sharp. God what a total mess. the 25 dollar one has way more passion and merit.
Jared M exactly they definitely FLOPPED in the background, I’m not even a digital artist...and the lack of effort and care put into the background kind of disgusts me.
The cheaper priced (but obviously higher quality) ones were definitely better. The 25 and 150 one put in a massive amount of effort hand painting everything. The 100 was okay but definitely cut corners like he said using photo elements. That top priced one was seriously just generic 3D models overpainted and a s**t ton of blur effects. Very lack luster and honesty I think that's what Jezza probably wanted to say but didn't want to be negative of another's art as he is a nice bloke like that.

Maybe not $250. I know that 25 isn't a lot, and I'd gladly pay up to $90, but there are a few places where lines were a bit sloppy, and it looked slightly unfinished for something that would theoretically be on a book. The final two scenes were much better in scale and detail, though the final one needs to be improved in certain areas.
The 100$ one was incredible. Sure they used photo material, but it is the only one I can imagine on a book cover + it got the kitty. I feel like 100$ is a rip off if this book would be real and selling for thousands of dollars, mostly due to the awesome cover art. I bet the artist is really disappointing he will never see his artwork on a book cover.
$100 and $150 were truly amazing, but I have to go with the $150 one considering you said its a book cover and they went out of their way to size it to a book cover, even though your sketch was longer.
I had thr same thought, it was the only one that considered the book cover aspect of the commission. The others wouldn't actually make ideal covers even with the quality of work.

i still think the third one was actually the best. Remember you asked for a book cover, which is extremely likely to be portrait whereas the others are all landscape.
The 25$ and 100$ are definitely my favourites, they suit my taste perfectly. But the huge robot from the last piece was absolutely breathetaking and I loved that part of this piece very much!!
The $150 one seems to be the only one (for that artwork) who recognized that you asked for a *book cover* . Which would generally be in portrait, rather than landscape.
@@lordhumungus712 I understand that, though in that case there would still need to be enough free space to the left of the image to allow for text on the back of the book.
I didn't notice at first, but I can definitely agree now. Not bc it's portrait but bc it's the only one that looks like it'd fit both characters on the cover of a book, with the clever perspective of Garius standing in front of the robot that doesn't block our view of it, which is standing someways back not appearing so big. Only downside is the robot looks more friendly than a killing machine imo. The rest of the artworks have the characters spaced out, huge huge robot, or both. But they also win bc landscape book covers look best.

I think you can't underprice art because money has no real value in the world where real art has relevance. If there is love for a work of art that work of art is paid in full. Money is worthless, so even taking millions and millions for good art is underpricing art. Art takes passion and a good sense of life.
Money means nothing and has no real value but the ability to make art is essential to the real human being.
Is there a greater act of art than revolution? A greater act of revolution than art?
As you might be able to tell, i'm personally sick of moneys dragging humanity down.

A lot of drawn children's books are landscape (like said before) but typically when doing commission work you either have to stick with the material provided, ask the commissioner or provide multiple options for the clientele to select from.

The 100 dollar robot guy also did the drawing according to a book size, so you have to give him that.
Btw, love your videos.
The proportions being correct is an important part of the product asked for. Of course, not all books have the "standard" proportions and I don't remember Jazza specifying, so we shouldn't be *too* hard on the other artists for that.
People could have thought it was a children's books so they made it wonder that it was tall
He could have wanted a wraparound cover, his sketch implies that.
To the person who did the $25 artwork - up your prices! Good job!

A lot of artists need to have better business sense. If you're working $25 for several hours, you're making below minimum wage for something that is a valuable talent that most people cannot do. $20-40 is a good hourly rate for his level of skill.
Sometimes it's that the artist has more time than opportunity for income, unfortunately

The $25 epic artwork is AWESOME wow
Yeah the 25$ artist definitely undercharged for that piece!
The 45 dollar one looks cool too!
Is very cool
PotatoAim 1805 yes of course, ever single one of them looks cool, I just mean for the price... :) it’s spectacular
@@katjab4565 yeah
How and why was the price on art so low
$100 and $150 were truly amazing, but I have to go with the $150 one considering you said its a book cover and they went out of their way to size it to a book cover, even though your sketch was longer.
Yes!
I had thr same thought, it was the only one that considered the book cover aspect of the commission. The others wouldn't actually make ideal covers even with the quality of work.
Exactly. That piece actually has room for a title at the top and some info at the bottom, too.
This needed to be pointed out thank you
YES
$25 was :O
IM IN LOVE WITH THEIR ARTWORK!
ALSO $100 was cool too!!!
but really $25 stole my heart
The $25 dollar one was hands down the best for the money. Also, the $100 Garrius and Kitty cat was super dope.
$300 artwork: *doesn’t have cat*
Jazza: worthless

Your comment is not something of value please please delete okay misstress it sucks a lot allot? It's ugly boring comment anyways...yay .boring is good for my veterinarisn Emmett shock
r/ihadastroke
nicenessstreak just be quiet
i was thinking like "i wanna see jazza open the 285$ one and it just saying JK. on a black background and thinking his reaction lol."
@@meanstreak110 excuse me, what
25 dollar book cover is the best. EXTREMELY well done. Especially since it was very cheap
I think the artist could have sold that piece for a lot more than $25
It's definitely one of my favorites
100% agree
@@dankmans8793 I think they mean more so in terms of value.
True
Hell no nigga
9:26 my face lit up when they added the kitty cat🥺😊
The $100 robot design was by far my favorite, and I'd love to see you do line art some time!
that would be epic i think he should do a video animation similar to that robot just a bit more his taste then copying of course
By far agree. That 100 dollar picture was amazing for the price.
Hands down my favorite.
The 100$ one was honestly the best one, everything just looks insane
And the 25$ is wayyy too undervalued
Idea for next video : Jazza drawing same two requests (Knight, Robot + Garius with kitty) for 25$, 50$, 100$, 250$
Yes! I would love to see how Jazza's vision of the art, how it compares to the purchased works, and how he much he simplifies it for each price point.
Saulius Šilkūnas I need this, like I really wanna see what he would do, let’s hope he does it!
Saulius Šilkūnas I’ll get behind this
i still think the third one was actually the best. Remember you asked for a book cover, which is extremely likely to be portrait whereas the others are all landscape.
Now comission someone to write the book for the cover
best one XD
I already have written a book! If he comissioned me I would write a book for his cover!
It's hard to be a writer as a profession.
Lmao pls make this sometime jazza
Yee
@Genius Idiot I think that's plagiarism and illegal
$100 is mad crazy looking. Desktop wallpaper material
$100 was insane. Enjoyed all of them, but that was my favorite.
I have to agree, plus it had the cat carrier pouch.
Ok clearly everybody agrees that the $25 one is the best for its price
$100 was beautiful and
$25 was amazing for the price
Those are my favorites
Candy Yumé the $100 had the most story telling and world building which Is crucial for book covers
thank you. I painted that 25$ one :)
@@DrawphicsbySarah hi
@@KING-se9db hey :)
Candy Yumé agreed
The 25$ and 100$ are definitely my favourites, they suit my taste perfectly. But the huge robot from the last piece was absolutely breathetaking and I loved that part of this piece very much!!
The $150 one seems to be the only one (for that artwork) who recognized that you asked for a *book cover* . Which would generally be in portrait, rather than landscape.
but no cat
Loads of my favorite book covers are landscape that wrap around, front and back.
@@lordhumungus712 I understand that, though in that case there would still need to be enough free space to the left of the image to allow for text on the back of the book.
@@Gabriel-jg5wh bruh the cat is there look beneath the left rocket on his back
I didn't notice at first, but I can definitely agree now.
The second FIVERR artist made the character look sick
I thought you meant like sick like awsome
