I followed all your instruction. Although my Google site has a custom domain connected to it. and I loaded the costume domain business name into the sitemap. Like you suggested that I keep getting.

Hi, thanks for the video! I did it and the site is indexed, but the result on sitemap page is "Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead". Any solution to fix it?
You can't use sitemaps button, you have to paste the URL into the search bar for manual index which means bots can crawl, but it's not the normal XML format
