Very helpful. Straight to point and clear. Better than the Google video I was trying to learn from. It was too long and didn't show anything relevant to submitting a sitemap. Thanks for this video
Aw yay, I’m glad it was helpful. It’s wild bc I work in SEO and even I find the Google videos confusing sometimes lol that’s kinda my inspo for this channel…make tech things less annoying 😉
Great video but I have a question: Do you need to add all the sitemap URLs that are listed on the XML Sitemap page to search console? For example you had 3 total sitemaps (/product-sitemap.xml, etc.) - which does not contain the word index in those other 3 URLs. Thank you for the feedback.
Usually there’s one main sitemap, where the other sitemaps are kinda nestled inside of so just adding the one is usually fine, but depends on your specific set up!
hello i saw the video it was a helpful one but just not in my case as I have designed a webflow website and really finding it difficult to figure out sitemap URL for it I would really like to have your suggestion for it and I know webflow does has its auto generated sitemap but I don't know how do I fetch my sitemap URL thanks and regards in advance
Hi! Good question. For other website platforms that I didn't dive into in the video, you can Google where to find it and your website platform FAQs or support docs should come up in the search results. So for this one, I would Google "where is my webflow sitemap?" and you should find a solution that way. Hope that helps :)
Thank you for the video. It was for informative. Had a quick question if I make new pages I should probably submit a new site map correct? Also do I love my current site map or should I delete it? Thanks again
Totally relevant. It’s a good question. It doesn’t matter which Google account you use to create your Google search console or Google analytics account, no. I would just recommend that it’s one you’re not going to forget or lose access to!
Yay, thank you for your support. Nope! The sitemap is like a roadmap of your website and its content that the search crawlers can read. It should have all of your pages already listed inside of it, so you only have to submit it for your website in general, not for each page.
Most basic sites only have one main sitemap and all of your pages on your website are listed within that sitemap. So you would just submit your one sitemap, not all your pages. Hopefully that helps!
Mariah, I have a question. My Sitemap index it says Success status but when I click the actual sitemap, the list of sub sitemaps "page, posts" has a status red that says "couldn't fetch". I tried refreshing it few times but it's not turning to green. Do you know what causes this? I'll get with Word Press support to help me on this one too. Great video!
Thank you! I have been having such trouble, I had the red words pop up at first and then refreshed the page like you said and it said Success. Once we submit the sitemap will google then crawl all the pages?
Whoop whooooop, so glad it helped! Usually it will crawl all/most of the pages, depending how many you have on your site, and decide what to index and what to ignore, etc.
Thanks Mariah. I was able to do this all the way to the end, and after refreshing the page, The status shows as "Success". Should I be concerned about the next two columns? My site consists of a handful of pages and posts, and I have a few videos playing on loops on some of the pages. Yet it says Discovered pages 0 and Discovered videos 0.

Lololol that is quite the compliment. Truly. Thank you, I appreciate it! 🔥🥰🥳 usually if you give it a few days and refresh it, the numbers will update if your website is crawlable.
could you create or recommend a video that talks about setting up the feed api for condition status in google merchant center. I have a mixed bag of products that are pre-owned (used) and brand new. Yet, google says that I currently have 290 products that are disapproved due to the mismatch in condition status. thx
Thank you very much. Please I have a question when I submit a site map of my website to google search console do I need to submit another sitemap when I create new posts?
Hi! You’re welcome ✨ Good question. Nope! As long as your new post is crawlable and findable for Google then when Google recrawls your sitemap (which is typically every few days) it should find new pages and posts. You CAN also submit your new posts to Google at a URL level to speed this up, which is what I tend to do. I dive into that in this video: th-cam.com/video/pah9WmeKFHo/w-d-xo.html
