My recommendation for gojira: l'enfant sauvage, flying whales and toxic garbage island. also you might be interested in orbit cultur north star of nija.
I feel like the repetition of the song is part of the message. They are trying to fly to another earth in a different time but it ends up being the same.
Is it repetitive? Yes. But is it a great song? Absolutely. That riff is so addictive, and you don't have to get technical all the time to impress fans, because this song is going to stand out from the rest of them and I think Gojira will finally get the recognition they deserve after this song.
I personally like it the more I have listened to it!! I had the same reaction the first time and now I love this song. It has an awesome atmospheric feel and emotion through out.
Hopefully Gojira releases a new album soon they take forever. I heard that Gojira is working with Devin Townsend to make an album together and that sounds fucking sick!
I like this song a lot, but it definitely took some time to grow. It reminds me of a mix of Global Warming off From Mars to Sirius and their new vibey stuff from Magma. It has that droney and repetitive structure of a like Global Warming, but sounds very vibey and atmospheric, but not too heavy like their newer stuff. Gojira is my second favorite band of all time so I have high standards for them, and I was admittedly a bit disappointed by it. Also, Mastodon (my favorite band, but not by much) put out a far stronger track right before this dropped, and Mastodon/Gojira are bands that I hold to very similar standards. Fallen Torches was a much more interesting song, and was different for Mastodon because it’s a lot more brutal than most of their newer stuff. That said, the fact that both of them are putting out singles at the same time and it looks like their albums might be released at similar times can’t be a coincidence (they’re under the same management, tour together a lot, and Brann from Mastodon posted a picture on Instagram about a year ago with Joe from Gojira saying something like “hatching plans”). The world may explode next year if they collab together, if not just because I don’t know if humanity can handle new albums from them at the same time. Also, the best song for MetalBro and you check out imo is absolutely The Gift of Guilt. That song is the epitome of a perfect modern extreme metal song imo. It’s melodic, proggy, groovy, brutal, and overall fucking incredible. Definitely my favorite Gojira song, and a great one to check out for him!
Man, you should react to this other french band, Hacride (maybe the song Overcome, it has a videoclip). Or every song from the "Amoeba" album ("Perturbed", "Fate", "Vision of Hate", "On the Treshold of Death", every song just smacks your face). Somewhere between Gojira, Textures, Meshuggah and Tool. For Gojira, what would fit your tastes : Remembrance, Backbone, The Art of Dying, Love.
I'm not blown away either but it's just the first single. I remember I wasn't impressed by Magma's Stranded when it got out but Magma is a great album!! Stranded fits in ther perfectly before going to the B side of the album.
I agree. When the riff came in, I thought that's a great riff. After four minutes I'm thinking, I can't believe they're still playing that same riff. Hopefully the rest of the new stuff will be more exciting.
Idkay But I feel like Gojira deliberately picked out the least mind-blowing song for a prior release to subvert our expectations, so when the full album we all completely shit our pants
One can only hope man. This was terribly underwhelming for my taste. I saw that they were releasing this song from twitter in which the caption was titled “Gojira releases a new heavy song”. Not at any point in this song did it get heavy smh.
Agreed. The riff is repetative, but not bad. The message in the song, because they are environmentalists, is they are fed-up with the current state of our planet, people, and where it's headed, so they decide to leave our earth to find another world. When they arrive they see the new world was no better and had already reached armageddon. BTW - the charachters in the video are the band members.
As I commented on your Diamond Construct Reaction, I'll go into Details how I feel about the Song, since you reacted to it (lengthy Post). I was gonna write something like "don't expect old heavy Gojira but more recent Gojira". I withheld cos I wasn't sure if you considered that too spoilery. Juist like you I got into Gojira way later (2017ish). I love the older Stuff (Art of Dying, Flying Whales) but I also liked Magma (Tracks with more Space/"softer" Songs like Silvera/Stranded). Anyway, I was caught by surprise by Gojira dropping a new Song and for some Reason I expected something resembling old Gojira: heavy and progy. What we got instead is a catchy repetitive spacy Song. So, I was pretty disappointed at first. Gojiras older Stuff has creativity in it's Structure and riffs and in the Drumming. This Track has it with the Riff (Gojira DNA), but it lacks Marios excessive Drumming. I wish they would have unleashed him more, oh well. Anyway, after listening to the track 3-4 Times it finally got stuck in my head on the weekend when I was chilling by the pool. So, I think I can say that I like the Track much more now and it's going through my head right now giving me a good Mood/vibe. Makes me wanna play No man's Sky haha. That being said, I really hope other Tracks are not all like this or this might be the Album I drop off from Gojira until they return to Form (for me). We'll see. I agree with Metalbro the Clips is awesome! It's one of the best I have seen recently. It syncs up so good with the Song and it really sells the vibe of the Song: Going into the unknown Future. I think in the Ending they went forward in Time and came back to Earth to learn that humanity indeed has died out or am I wrong? If you're still here thx for Reading have a good one, cheers \m/
Please do Satan is a lawyer. Rememberance Inward movement Wolf down the earth The emptiness Fire is everything My last creation Space time Clone Love Backbone From the sky Indians Blow me away you Lizard skin Oroborus Planned obsolescence A sight to behold Where dragons dwell live The axe Liquid fire Ocean planet Pain is a master The link The cell Explosia Dawn
Agree, too repetitive for me as well. Check out space time or embrace the world from the Link Alive concert, it’s from the early 2000’s. Doesnt get any better than that..
Personally I did not enjoy Magma, and this song gives me the same feeling. Not a huge fan of it. I think "the way of all flesh" was their peak. Really heavy, but also melodic and atmospheric. Almost like they combined the sound of three first albums on that one. "Esoteric Surgery" or "Vacuity" would be cool to see on the channel.
Yeah, I got on board with Gojira listening to their last album and this song just feels like more of the same and I want to see them surpass it so.. It's an OK single but I want more from them! Seriously, you didn't get 'Planet of the apes' vibes from that ending?
Since Magma, they have so/too many repeating parts in their songs I think Gojira before that (Magma) album is great ... since that .... meeeeehh . This one sounded like old riffs chopped together (with too many repeats).
Gojira are in my top 3 bands of all and I was extremely disappointed at this release, I knew after 4 years of nothing released that the song they release wouldnt be good, I don't know why, same thing happened with tool 🤷♀️
We all know it's one of the not as good songs to build up hype to an album announcement and to tease us of what's to come. It's one of those middle songs of the album, Magma had a couple like it also.
The Art Of Dying by them is great. This is not one of their best songs in my opinion. I love Gojira for their impressive drum work, and this song really didn't have any stand out moments.
Agree with your thoughts. I like the music video but the song itself is really underwhelming by Gojira's standards. I've given it a couple of listens but there is just nothing that makes me want to listen to it again. Hate to say it but I find it boring.
My recommendation for gojira: l'enfant sauvage, flying whales and toxic garbage island.
also you might be interested in orbit cultur north star of nija.
I just recently watched the version of L'enfant sauvage live at red rocks 2017. Made me shrink to an atom and feel like a titan at the same time.
Nah they need to do, last creation, where dragons dwell, Clone, art of dying
Is it just me or did that ending give me Rise of the Planet of the Apes vibes??
I feel like the repetition of the song is part of the message. They are trying to fly to another earth in a different time but it ends up being the same.

Gojira helps me sleep, so nice listening to them at night
Love this song so much, I never get sick of listening to it everyday working closing shifts at work
I recommend Gift of Guilt, The Art of Dying, and Remembrance.
Rememberance is fucking ruthless, one of my favorite breakdowns.
Let them react to the art of dying and watch them melt in the seat😎
Pray live at Red Rocks is amazing!
I'd personally recommend from Gojira - The Axe, Toxic Garbage Island, Oroborus, or The Art of Dying
yes
From Mars + To Sirius, Yama's Messenger, Wolf down the Earth, Silvera, Low Lands
I personally like it the more I have listened to it!! I had the same reaction the first time and now I love this song. It has an awesome atmospheric feel and emotion through out.
Highly recommend any of the songs from Good Tiger's new album. Worth checking out.
This song is really well balanced and the performance here is the storytelling. Well done Gojira !!
Hopefully Gojira releases a new album soon they take forever. I heard that Gojira is working with Devin Townsend to make an album together and that sounds fucking sick!

Cool réaction. I had enjoyed your couple reacts to Silvera. Keep up the good work. I agree with you. Nothing mind blowing but solid. Just an appetizer
You should have him react to Explosia or Toxic Garbage Island
l'enfant sauvage and the axe are probably my two favorite tracks by gojira.
Definitely think you should get some Deafheaven on the channel! I would check out Dreamhouse live in Raleigh, NC!
Man, you should react to this other french band, Hacride (maybe the song Overcome, it has a videoclip). For Gojira, what would fit your tastes : Remembrance, Backbone, The Art of Dying, Love.
You could do the whole. The link alive album. Its an s tier masterpiece i would put up with the greatest live albums of all time.
I'm not blown away either but it's just the first single. I remember I wasn't impressed by Magma's Stranded when it got out but Magma is a great album!! Stranded fits in ther perfectly before going to the B side of the album.

Le Enfant Sauvage is the song that got me into Gojira
I Just learned the main rifft of this song its a simpel but brutal riff
If I Were You - Starting Over. Think you guys would like it
Dude you guys should do some toxic garbage island or oroborus for him to check out!!
Idkay
But I feel like Gojira deliberately picked out the least mind-blowing song for a prior release to subvert our expectations, so when the full album we all completely shit our pants

Yes I really hope so. If the whole Album is filled with Songs like this... Oh boy
Agreed. The riff is repetative, but not bad. Its a story. I think its a concept album. I think this expressing the beginning middle or end of a Grand Tale.

I think they’re going through a lazy period like In Flames in the early 2010’s. They’ll be back.

"Art of dying" holds a special place in my heart.

Exactly the reason I like Gojira but rarely listen to them.
react to VINTERSEA = FIERY TONGUE
Bro you gotta react to Sunflower by Banshee its heavy as shit
Man I love gojira flying whales but I can give another world a solid 7.5
Gojira are in my top 3 bands of all and I was extremely disappointed at this release, I knew after 4 years of nothing released that the song they release wouldnt be good, I don't know why, same thing happened with tool 🤷♀️
Pffft, Tool's new songs are awesome.
@@ayarikiyo2178 yes I agree, they are awesome in the same way this gojira is awesome, but the level I was expecting just wasn't there
Gojira clone🤘🏼

The Art Of Dying by them is great. This is not one of their best songs in my opinion. I love Gojira for their impressive drum work, and this song really didn't have any stand out moments.
They weren't going for a technical song this time around, I'm pretty sure they purposely chose to make it more simple and repetitive
Plz react to anomie from tethra!!!!
I see how it is repetitive but that main riff is soooo good tho.
Totally agree with you here Extremely repetitive especially for Gojira just quite boring which is unfortunate I was so excited for more Gojira
Agree with your thoughts. I like the music video but the song itself is really underwhelming by Gojira's standards. I've given it a couple of listens but there is just nothing that makes me want to listen to it again. Hate to say it but I find it boring.
Deffently not there best work I was disappointed by it, they have so many better songs
Boring track .. the drumming on the track is too damn weak
Fady Abou hassan mario himself said that he wants to play simpler ,sometimes less is more
Cool opening riff. Boring song.
Completely agree on this analysis. It was so repetitive and boring.
