Welcome to Red Cloud Ranch! I'm Craig, and this is the story of how my wife and I turned a devastating cancer diagnosis into a dream come true. It's been a journey through the ups and downs, the sweat and tears, and the sheer joy of building our little slice of paradise out here in the back country of San Diego.
A few years back, life threw us a curveball. I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare and tough blood cancer. It wasn't an easy ride, and there were days when the pain and uncertainty were almost too much. But instead of letting it knock us down, we decided to push forward and make something beautiful out of the struggle.
Red Cloud Ranch wasn't just built; it was crafted with love, hope, and a whole lot of hard work. From clearing out a natural ravine to create our pond, to setting up the perfect rifle range, every inch of this place has a story. And let me tell you, it wasn’t always pretty. We started with nothing but a broken-up asphalt road and a rundown barn. But with a vision in our hearts and determination in our souls, we transformed it into the ranch you see today.
You'll meet Mikey, our five-day-old goat, and see why we fell in love with this land. We’ve adopted donkeys, goats, horses, and cattle, each adding their own charm to the ranch. And yeah, we might not be true blue cowboys, but we sure do embrace this lifestyle with all we’ve got.
