I honestly think this is the best food orientated interview show on YT, even better than Hotwings. Josh is a great interviewer and has great conversations with his guests.
Hot ones' kinda became worse since blowing up tbh, the people that used to be on it would actually be interested in the wings/sauce but now it seems like a normal press tour show.
Agreed, hot ones' whole thing was that the spice would lower their guards, but it also distracts them and cuts short some good stories. On this show Josh is also getting them to lower their guards but just by being more conversational and connecting to the guest through food that touches them emotionally. I can only guess which show the guests enjoy more 😂
Hot Ones involves pain. People's inhibitions are lowered when they're suffering. I like this show because it's rooted in warmth and comfort, and that sets the tone for the interview and the integrated focus, rather than there being two things happening at once.
@@oldasyouromens Exactly that. It's far more comfortable to talk about things like death and and your views on life while surrounded by all of your most favorite comfort-foods. Guests open up because they're surrounded by the smells and tastes and memories that have made them happiest for most of their lives. Hell, I wax nostalgic and existential every time I eat something deeply loved from my childhood, and I suspect that's remarkably common for most folks. Honestly, it's a remarkable format.
Terrific episode, he was mentioned by Becky but if hes willing Sami Zayn might seem like a terrific guest as well he seems to have a deep perception in life.
What a fantastic episode. If we're gonna be doing wrestlers, I'd love to see some legends of the sport on here. Most of all Mick Foley. That man beat the holy hell out of his body for decades.
Mick and DDP would both be fascinating. Mick for all the stories of the industry over the years, and DDP both for stories of WCW and building his whole DDPY business and working with other retired wrestlers.

hearing her talk about death anxiety was so comforting. i recently experienced horrible death anxiety and it’s something i think about a lot. sometimes i would think “does someone like becky lynch have this same worry?”
I’m not here to preach religion. I only want to share my experience. When I was 28, I went through a year long existential crisis. (Which I do not wish on anyone. It was draining and deeply depressing) but in that year, I had so much positive energy being directed towards me. So many signs both physical and mental. I’m convinced something else is out there. I was raised catholic but didn’t really practice it past making my first communion in 2nd grade.
Absolutely great episode for a great person. If you read a few of the top comments, quite of a few of them are about how they didn't know who Becky was but they very quickly fall in love with her. And that's a recurring theme with Becky. In 2019 - I had been out from watching WWE for over a decade and then just come to check it out because the MMA legend Ronda Rousey was now in WWE. However very quickly - in no time, I became a Becky Lynch fan and since then I have been following her career as a fan. She is just the best. And in those years I have seen maybe hundreds of her interviews. This was a top 5 interview for her IMHO. Thanks.

Mythical Kitchen has been my favorite show/channel (TH-cam or otherwise) for years. Becky has been my favorite women’s wrestler for years. Last Meals is my favorite Mythical show. And now this might be my favorite last meals episode so far (Babish and Post Malone are up there)
I live in Davenport IA, and every time I see Seth and Becky at the grocery store I fan girl internally for at least 30 seconds before composing myself 😂
The sincerity of Last Meals is truly one of the best things. We’re always in for a 30-40 minute chat where everyone’s just eating good food and having a worthwhile discussion about life, food, and death. I truly love everything about this show.
I’m only 17 minutes in, and I already know this’ll be the first one of these I finish watching (don’t worry I’ll go back and finish the rest.) I still consider myself a new viewer, however I love Josh and his videos, especially with these series and how intimate he makes these interviews feel with bringing in the idea of their last meals and asking personal questions that they’re okay with answering. Definitely one of my favorite series to watch on not only this channel, but TH-cam in general
I'm not even familiar with Becky at all but this is by far my favourite episode of the show before. She was so open, honest and genuinely emotional throughout this all.
I didn't know her either but I like how genuine she is also, even being in America a long time she still sounds Irish and even talks the same way she would to Irish people back home. Karen Gillan was nice on the last episode also but she has become quite Americanised, can tell she changed some to fit in.
This is the first Last Meal I have cried to. Hit sooo so close to home. Josh is such a great interviewer and Becks is just among the realest people. Loved the video.
I know Becky isn't British but as someone in the UK I've never been prouder to see someone from our side of the sea schooling Americans on food we all grew up with here.
Josh, you and the team are crushing these episodes! You're getting such emotion and other sides of your guests that we don't normally see. Gordon and Becky being the two I've seen this in the most! Keep it up, what a cool concept and approach that's really pulling out the human side of your guests and not their gimmicks.

If you get to visit Scotland, visit the Fort William area. It's the most beautiful place on the *planet*. I'm in England and drive the 15 hours up there every year for a road trip.

stone soup is one of my favorite stories. A traveller visits during food scarcity, and villagers were hoarding their last supplies. He starts with nothing (or a stone) alone and as more curious neighbors emerge and contribute to the soup, the village ate well. Better together as a community

Diffrerence between an Irish stew and regular ole stew is that Irish stew is typically Lamb or mutton, also most recipes i've used and done didn't have potatoes in it, instead poured over mashed potatoes. Guiness is also used often in Irish stew, regardless of protein.

Becky's meal is pretty much what I would have had as a kid in Wales so it must be a Celtic thing. Quality "rizz you up" joke as well Becky.
Diffrerence between an Irish stew and regular ole stew is that Irish stew is typically Lamb or mutton, also most recipes i've used and done didn't have potatoes in it, instead poured over mashed potatoes. Guiness is also used often in Irish stew, regardless of protein.
