I'm a Blade Runner fan, it's a movie which has haunted me through the years . Rutger Hauer, a young unknown Dutch actor stole the entire movie from Harrison Ford an established film star ; as Roy Batty, so dangerous, so charismatic so brilliant . I wept while watching your beautiful tribute to Rutger, and also for the rain . THANK YOU Movie Atmosphere !
We're all Blade Runner fans, but I'm not sure why you need to see the acting performances as competitive. Film-making is a collaborative effort and every one of the actors, in principal roles or minor supporting roles, was excellent for their part. Hauer deserves great credit for playing Batty the way he did and giving him one of science fiction cinema's most memorable lines, but it's silly, in my view, to say he "stole the film". That was the part.
@@bobbydazzler8684 If you do not think that acting is competitive you have no knowledge of the film industry or the theatre . Rutger Hauer's performance dominated the whole movie, you sound like a Harrison Ford fan boy. If you really are a Blade Runner fan you would have read various interviews by Rutger where he stated he was totally invested in his role as the antagonist wanting it to nuanced and making it mesmeric ; whereas Ford Floundered in his role wanting constant direction and reassurance from the director. He complained after the film was completed that his role was too passive, obviously still deeply influence by his Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark role .

I remember this scene well when I first saw this movie at the Seekonk Drive-In back in 1983. I will never forget how deep and personal this scene was. The Drive-In is now long gone. But every time I drive by what once was the location (a shopping center with chain stores) I think back to watching this movie in my car with a girl I miss and haven't seen in so many years. And I thank you for this video...for jogging my memory...and for the rain
Nice story, This movie is probably my favourite of all time. Movies nowadays cannot compete with a scene like tears in rain.
I remember seeing this movie with my dad down town LA. Come out of the theater walk by the Million Dollar theater. All those memories.

Thanks for the effort. I listen to both soundtracks at least 5 times a week at work. Nice video loop. Would have been more fitting if the tribute was the 1982 Vangelis soundtrack and not the bland 2017 Zimmer / Wallfisch version, can you fill the full 59 minutes of audio if you do another go. cheers

I played this for my dog as he was being euthanized. I play Blade Runner music a lot while I work. He used to lay down next to my chair and the music would lull him to sleep. Unfortunately, he became very ill and it was no longer humane to prolong his illness. So, these are the last sounds he heard... this and my sobs. I'll miss him for the rest of my life and this music is now synonymous with my memory of him.
